    The StayPut shallow water anchor is a DYI boat power pole anchor that may be a cheap shallow water anchor when it comes to price, yet it's not a cheap boat pole anchor when it comes to construction. The only way to break Stayputs shallow water anchor pole is to take off in your boat while it's deployed! It's virtually indestructible otherwise. This system is great for the angler on a budget, or for those of you with smaller aluminum bass boats, jon boats or kayaks. Stayput is working on a shallow water anchor system for kayaks, soon to be released. The bow mount shallow water anchor is great for finesse fisherman who want their bow positioned toward the target they are fishing. Cool product StayPut and thanks for spending time with us at ICAST 2019.

    Installed a bow mount on my Yamaha 210fsh 2018 21 ft fishing boat. I have a custom $6000 canvas cover for the boat. The bow. Mount caused the cover to be tight covering the stayput mount. I knew that the cover was tighter but the top of the bow mount did not seem sharp. Apparently it was sharper than I thought . The new Stayput mount cut a hole in the canvas cover that will require patching or modification of the cover. So be aware that if your cover is tight over the bow mount, with wind action it can cut your cover.

    Real world review here: the concept is nice, and on a perfect calm day on the water they work fine. But if there is a slight roll or chop, the vertical movement of the holder on the poles causes it to lift the pole out of the ground rendering it useless.

      If it is stuck far enough in the ground than it will not come up. If there are very rough conditions and the pole is barely in the ground then it will come up.

      @@bassbeasts1603 I'm speaking from experience, not imagination. The holder that the pole goes through acts like a vice grip during roll or chop and it slowly pulls the pole out of the dirt. If I had any recommendation to fix this it would be to use roller bearings on the pole guide/holder.

    I got a six footer I don't know how good it's going to be in the river. But if it doesn't work the way I like it I can use it for protection

      I agree with you both. $350 for a hunk of metal, and a fiberglass rod ?!?
      Drop the price, sell a whole lot more!

    Where would you mount the Stayput anchor on a Yamaha 210 FSH boat that has 2 Yamaha jet ski engines?

    I definitely like that top metal part. Also that one that mounts to the motor. What a great idea there!! But when you take the nut off, I bet the motor probably could use a C-clamp to hold it. Otherwise how does the motor not fall off the transom? Maybe make a video on how to use that motor mount.

      If you level the boat and tilt the motor up, you can remove the nuts and install the mount without the motor moving very much. I did this on my Mercury 115hp 4 stroke and had no problems. The other two bolts hold it very well. Just remember to check the torque on all 4 bolts when you are done.

      Yes it would stop your boat from spinning and it would keep you correctly positioned in the way that you want.

    Can you tie these to a clete?

    • @bassbeasts1603
      @bassbeasts1603  3 роки тому

      You could tie them to a clete... but they sell mounts that you attach to your boat that will be sturdier than tying to a clete.

    Extremely over priced. So much focus on the comparison as price and only 5 min into the video did I hear incomplete details on the pin/stick. Does is have a stainless steel at the bottom? Is it screwed on or fixed glued on? Glad to see the bending capability though. Still,$350 out the door is too much. There’s no proprietary name over this.

      What incomplete details did you want explained? What did you need clarified? I would be happy to help. $350 is a little much, but you get what you pay for. This is an extremely sturdy and well made product. All of the mounts are screwed on except the motor mount. As he explained installing the motor mount is extremely simple because the nuts and bolts are already on the motor. Thank you for your comment! I hope I could answer some questions! - Little Beast
