It's certainly a vast improvement on what it was Mick, I estimate there will be a few summer PBs on there now it's a smoother surface! I generally tend to use the southbound carriageway cycle path when coming from Southport way as I find it counter intuitive for me to ride against the traffic. However I fully agree with you that it should have, at the very least, joined the roundabout by the BP and continued to the lights at the Costal Road. Come Autumn it's unlikely they will maintain it so the fallen wet leaves will make it like an ice rink on 25mm tyres! I might write to 'Big Cheque Bill' MP and ask where the money went!
John, yes it is a major improvement, but I just makes no sense why it didn't start from the traffic lights and end by the BP station 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ I'll leave the Strava hunters to there dick swinging challengers...I don't even have Strava 🤣 yes I know I'm a roadie outcast 🤣🤪🤣 and mate we all know they won't maintain it, but they can feel free to surprise us, we shall see 🤔🤔🤔

The cycle lane has been there since the 1930,s when the bypass was built.
Bicycles don't pay a dime in road or gas taxes, an yet billions are spent on the spandex crowd, why?
road tax in Britain was abolished in 1937 and replaced by Vehicle Excise Duty. This is a tax on cars, not roads, and it goes straight into the general Treasury fund.
What do you think they do with the money saved? Turn it into gold and hoard it? No, they spend it on businesses in other ways (where they pay tax!)
