I'm waving to you and our chums, Neil. I am praying for a full recovery for beautiful Princess Catherine and King Charles. Be careful and stay safe. After your long hard day of work, go home, take off your shoes, put your feet up, and have a cup of tea.
My mum went to the UK and was absolutely shocked. Her comment “Don’t go there, you won’t know it’s Britain, there’s no British culture apart from the architecture. The country is an immigrant hell hole”.
London has really changed and in lots of ways not for the better. The context of decency has been altered beyond recognition. Great movie, wonderful actors. Thank you.
Me either and I love classic movies! "Arsenic and Old Lace" was the first one I saw that got me hooked. Cary Grant had the best comedic timing. Please tell me you've seen it several times!
It was a delight to watch this movie from 1950's London when monocultural Britain was in full swing, and wasn't it grand? How times have changed indeed. Thank you Neil.
Haven’t seen a monoculture movie for about 65 years. Enjoyed that although I didn’t like the characters. Too low born and I’l l bred. Much preferred Cedar from last week. l
I remember this film, though I haven't seen it in years. They don't show this one over here in the States anymore. Im looking forward to see this film again. Thank you for finding this film, and posting it for your chums. Popcorn is literally ready, and Im sacked in. Such fun! Thank you again. Cheers!
Loved the Blue Lamp, remember it well and loved Jack as Dixon if Dock Green, I used to like his son in law in it Andy if I remember right. Thanks for the movies Neil I love them a great idea, keep them coming. As a police woman in the 70s and 80s in the Met it was difficult with some of the older men to be accepted, but there were things the men couldn’t do without us! Happy days Neil 🇳🇿❤️👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 plus I’ve always liked Michael Medwin as an actor!

Waves Neil love your presenting movies. Seeing it now. Thanks for your kindness to your fans/friends. From an American in your community. Your a real sweetheart ❤️ 🎉 Real good flick. Love those old English classics
Just shows you how beneficial women police were ,however much they were up against ! Love these old films you find ,with old London and old values ,which are sadly lost today ,with all the silly wokery ! Thankyou i enjoyed watching this Neil 👏👏👏👏💖😎
This will be my bank holiday matinee, with Terence Morgan, whom you mentioned the other day when introducing the Jean Kent film. Peggy Cummins was always good in films, and Joyce Carey from The Cherry Tree features in this film as well. What a treat you have found for us Neil❤ I'll leave my official review later this afternoon when I’ve watched the film. My unofficial opinion is that it will be a cracking good film. Cheers to you Neil 🥂👋as I have a cuppa and jammie dodgers when I settle down to watch it on my big screen smart TV 🫖☕️🍪
@@NEILSEANSSHOWBIZ Neil, this was a brilliant little film, with Eleanor Summerfield doing an 'Esther Williams' in the opening scenes, later found to be awol from the army and a bigamist! The police women seemed to do the brunt of the work and, within minutes, one has us on the edge of our seats as she's three or four floors up on the the sill of a building rescuing a kamikaze child! Both then rescued by the fire brigade and rapturous applause! These days, they'd all be bombarded with missiles. I loved Peggy Cummins and Barbra Murray, and there were so many brilliant screen and theatre actors and actresses, especially Michael Hordern, Dame Thora, Dora Bryan, Joyce Carey (from the Cedar Tree), Sarah Lawson, Michael Medwin, and so many others with their clipped and precise English accents. Fantastic. Your chums will be thrilled at this choice, Neil, and - once again - you've played a blinde!l Thank YOU Neil ❤❤

The police have changed not just in London but in u.s. where they are shackled in some places. Disrespected un others. Corruption too. There are good men & women whom stand un the gap asmirably but it has changed. Society too. Not for the better. Enjoyed the film ummensely. Thanks Sean!
Thanks Neal, this was a fantastic movie, really enjoyed this. Loved it when the little girls mum and her husband wanted to adopt her, and the baddies got their just desserts, ❤
I am still watching the rest of the episodes of The Cedar Tree. I love the story! I will watch this movie later. I absolutely love the movies and shows you share with us! Again, thank you!!
I binged on the Cedar Tree episodes yesterday, all that I could find. This one, Street Corner was an enjoyable movie too. Full of nostalgia for lost times.
Only just got round to watching this, so many stars of stage and screen it was fascinating to go back to an earlier more simple age in many ways. Police actually had a positive influence on many lives. It is a little gem. Things that are well acted and well scripted you get lost in and don't even realise it's not colour. Thank you I really enjoyed that .
Once into the peace of the 1950s many, mostly men dare I say, forgot all the jobs women did during those 6 years of war when most / many of the men were not here ... women stepped up to get things done. This film is 1953 when our great Queen Elizabeth came to the Throne ...
Afternoon from a sunny Leeds 🌞 loving this film 🎥 the old Black and White ones certainly are my favourites. I was a babe when this was made and society certainly has changed for the worst, in my opinion. No respect or manners nowadays. Would love to go back and stay there. Thank you so much for showing this and for all your hardwork. Very grateful
What a brilliant film. Excellant story and acting plus clarity of vision and audio perfect and without constant vulgar language. So unlike today's offerings. Looking at an almost black screen with mumbled voices except for the expletives which seem to be every other word. Forgot to THANK YOU 🖐
I still get the flutter of anticipation/excitement in my tummy when the gong is hit at the beginning of Rank Arena films. I really enjoyed the movie, Neil. As you say, nothing is new. The ending, with the women officers walking, reminded me of the slow walk on The Bill. I can't remember whether it was at the beginning or end of the show now.
Wow Neil ! I really enjoyed this last matinee ! These plot lines are way better than the smut they show now. All the police women were very good actresses. It’s also a way to see the inner cities of London. Thank you for such a refreshing matinee. x
Really enjoyed your matinee Neil, thank you for sharing this little gem. My husband first thought he was going to watch 'The Blue Light' which he instantly remembered from his adolescent trips to the picture theatre. Thank you.
Neil 👋 chums 👋🏴🇬🇧 i just L❤VE how everyone accents and speaks the 'Queens English' or should i say 'Kings English' 🥰 ANOTHER CORKER NEIL🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
A little bit of trivia. The actor who appeared in both The Cedar Tree and Street Corner was the late great stage and screen actress Joyce Carey. She gave many skillful stage performances that, alas, l was too young to experience.
🇭🇲🦘👋 Just finished watching this wonderful movie, which was everything you said it would be, and more! This "made my day" as many of your movie treats do. "Thank you" so much Neil xx 👔 ⭐👋 So much indeed! You dear dear man. with much love from Lyndell xx 💓🫂 and "NO" my dear husband won't mind me giving you a hug 🫂 at all. ☺ 🤗
Thankyou Neil. Just wonderful. Stuck in bed with a horrible 'flu & really cheered me up. Double delight was seeing the marvellous Thora Hird amongst the cast - had to go back & check the credits at the begining just to be sure. Don't know if I'd have jumped into the Thames in those days...so bravo & three cheers to our heroine indeed 👏 👏 👏
"Hello" Amanda 👋 So pleased you enjoyed the movie, but sorry to read that you have the flu 🤧 but I hope that you are feeling better very soon. From Lyndell xx 💐
@@Lyndell-P Thankyou, your unexpected kind wishes made my day. Over the years I too have left the occasional gentle few words of care to hopefully encourage as I know people can be feeling lonely, vulnerable, or just need some compassion or a cheer up. This is the first time I have received care in return. Quite lovely 🤗
"Hello" 👋 Amanda! It's been 7 days since we learned that you were "stuck in bed with a horrible flu" 🤧 so I thought it was 'high time' that I 'checked in' on you again, to see if you are 'on the mend' and hopefully alot better! I do hope so; and I have thought of you often. As I haven't noticed you leaving many comments to Neil's videos, but (then again) I just might have missed them. Given that Neil often receives hundreds and hundreds of comments; and while I try to read most of them, I sometimes don't have the time to read them all. So I read at least the the first 10 and the last 20, at the time that I leave my own comment. Although if Under 100 comments, I try to read them all, for each video. Anyway - I digress! I hope you are feeling much better Amanda, and that you are recovering well, from your flu. "Take care" 🤗 and all the very best to you, from a fellow chum (me) Lyndell xx 💐 and as "hugs are for healing" here is a special chum's hug 🫂 just for you! 😊
You are spoiling us Neil. Personally I think female police members should have a male partner. People are way more uncivilised and violent than back when I was a kid. Sure you had aggressive people, but not like now. Pack mentality.
Haven't heard of this film, so excitedly looking forward to watching 🍿 Thank you, Neil, for another wonderful matinee 😊 Dimming the lights and brewing the tea 🫖☕ Sadly, all out of biscuits 😞

That’s terrible to hear but after seeing everything on the news I can believe it.
I think that's a bit of an exaggeration ! London and a few other large cities may have changed, but the whole of the UK ?
@@pinkthistle5713 not the whole of UK. She had to go to the outskirts of to experience the British.
NOT ALL OF THE UK! Wales is mostly rural and immigrant free 👋🏴🇬🇧
