Some seem to hate this version of the Q, but to me it’s my favorite of all the Qs. Loved the sleeper styling, understated interior, and that gorgeous sounding V8 they had. Sure it wasn’t perfect, but it was better than most you could buy at the time. Only the LS400 was better overall, and that was not sporty at all

Yeah, the LS400 has almost taken on cult car status now, seems more popular than when it was new. I don't think the same can be said for the Q45, even if it was more sporty.

My dad bought a new Q45 in 1990 when I was 5 years old. Other than routine maintenance the car was comfortable, reliable and safe for 7 years. My older sister learned how to drive in it and it saved my sister, myself and my mom when we were rear-ended by a Cadillac when the driver took his eyes off the road.

All three gens were really amazing, my favourite year was 2000, it was a shame they did not get the recognition they deserved, reliability was steller.

I own a 2002 Q45 that was previously owned by Gene Barry, a Hollywood movie actor. I acquired the car from his family and had it shipped to my home in Florida. That was the first time I had seen a Q45. What a great surprise.
The car is very comfortable, has a beautiful ride and has more pick up than my daughters BMW. It has replaced my Land Cruiser as my daily driver.

I wish they’d made more of an effort to make the interior less plasticky. It’s not just the lack of wood. It’s the lack of fabric on the roof and pillars too. The SAAB 9000 often didn’t have wood but looked richer inside.

The $56,200 price tag in 1991 is about $96,600 in 2021 dollars. Quite a hefty sum of money for a new brand name and a venture into the luxury car market by Nissan. Infiniti just never caught on like Lexus and Acura. I kind of like the "ugly" front end on this Q45. But, I like ugly cars, lol!

Piece of crap! I had one, bought it new. After around 8K miles, the timing chain broke, the engine went and Nissan had to pay for a new engine. Buy a Lexus or Acura.
