I love this car. My friend at college had a brand new 1997 A4, and I had the chance to drive it long distance on spring break, and it was such a joy to drive! It was quiet, stable, and nimble. It wasn’t as much as a downgrade to my dad’s 98 BMW 740 IL had I expected. It was my first experience w an Audi, and I was highly impressed!
I have had quattro's from many different eras and still daily drive a 1993 Audi V8, nothing else I have driven has provided the confidence of any variation that the of the quattro system
I have this cars brother, the B5.5 VW Passat 1.8T with 4Motion and 5 speed manual. There were less than 2000 made in 2004 with stick shift and all wheel drive with the 1.8T engine. I love my car. Only 117k miles and all OE.
@@fleuger99 I'm sure you miss it. They do not make them like this anymore except the Audi A4 and A6. My next car will probably be the B8 Audi A4 because the platform of my car was where the A4 started from and is still being built similarly with the engine still being slanted to the left. Under the hood of the newest A4 has lots similarities to my car, you can clearly see the ancestry.
i got the same exact car :) white with black/gray interior and a manual transmission. Just replaced the fuel filter on it and now its got some pep to it, really just hoping to break the 21 mpg barrier which im sure it should. Just resting my foot on the gas pedal its got response and pep
4:13 this car does not do awd donuts in the snow, the stability control and awd work hand in had to keep it safe so it just drive in a circle :) tried it a couple winters ago when i got the thing and had a good laugh
The 1st generation Audi A4 still looks great today!
We have this car except a 1998 with Tiptronic automatic since 2001. With a fully galvanized body (like Porsches have), it still looks great!

I had the B5 Passat with this engine, the 2.8 litre V6 mated to a 5 speed manual. It was silver with a black interior, loved that car.
