This case is a stark reminder that things have to change in how we handle mental health issues in this country. Being able to force treatment on those who are potentially violent is paramount. It shouldn't be necessary for the person to be currently a danger to themselves or others, but to have the potential to become a danger to themselves or others. When William got out of the car, why didn’t Brandon phone the police? Brandon knew how unhinged William was that night having been held hostage himself!
William ended the life....
Drugs, fear of being arrested or not believed.
RIP Christopher, the sadness in this story is palpable.
God Bless your wife and 2 little ones.
Chilling. He honestly seemed like he wasnt gonna hurt anyone, kept telling Christopher he wouldn't hurt him "bro". Poor family, nobody deserves to be having an evening at home and some psycho walking into their safe place & murdering the husband, god damn cold.
that wasn't just chilling . It was CRUEL.
“William was acting in fear” ummm tf how do you think the family felt?
I’m not defending him. But It’s almost like he’s on intense drugs
@@corydk4834 His choice to do drugs, knowing how they would affect him.....
11:05 can you imagine encountering this mook in your house coming in with two guns through your back door ? Good Lord. I will never leave my doors unlocked ever again.
Seriously! Very real possibility. 😮
why would you anyway???
Why would you leave it unlocked to begin with
@@kanamekiyru They just forgot. In NZ we don't lock doors during the day and in summer have our front doors wide open. There was a time we didn't lock any doors and could go out for the day with doors unlocked.
Unfortunately, those days are long gone, it is not a safe world anymore. @Juanita-gf4te
I can only imagine the depth of trauma…the relative who gifted them that home, the dispatcher who did all she could but probably feels like she could’ve done more, the police officers who had to escort her and her child out, and the wife and child.
8:53 the dispatcher did so good. I love that she warmed her that the officers were going to make entry and to remain calm.
Oh my frigging god I had goosebumps! This is the most chilling 911 call I've ever heard
9:59 When the officer yells, "Please stop shooting, man!" it breaks my heart for them knowing they didn't fire back a single shot out of fear of hitting the mom and daughter. People often forget just how much police are willing to risk while saving them, 3 of them took bullets. I have so much respect for those officers.
That dispatcher did an amazing job✅
They really held it together and tried everything
Smoking meth 24 hours a day and hallucinating is now considered a mental health issue?
🎯
Here I always thought it was a choice. Silly me.
Meth induces psychosis. Which is hallucinations, paranoia, hearing voices etc. So , kind of.
If you are a liberal. Hell some states would have arrested Chris had he not died.
Exactly, I agree with You...... welcome to 'MURICA 💯
( America)
This is a great example of why having a pew pew in your home is paramount.
I’ve been contemplating getting one for a few months now. This has solidified my decision. Just bought our first time home with my fiancé and plan on starting a family. I don’t think I’ve ever cried at a video so hard. How fucking terrifying. Guns everywhere from now on.
That's exactly why I keep a pew pew. To protect my family. It would be 20 minutes for law enforcement to get there, and by that time, it's too late. Make sure you and everyone who would use it in your home. get good training with your pew pew.
@@firestick17 thank you for the advice, I sincerely appreciate it
Insane or not, life in prison.
Oh lordy. We already have so many mentally ill people in prison. They take time and resources which we really do not have and make the facility far more dangerous than it needs to be.
Max Security Mental Health facilities are too few and we need more.
Life in prison is way too good for him. That sentence is infuriating. He will be housed and well fed for the next 30-50+ years on the taxpayer’s dime and live better than homeless vets. I have zero sympathy for repeat offenders. Especially for home invasion and what resulted here. I don’t know how his defense lawyer can sleep at night.
@notmars77 so you're saying we need another rikers island prison.
I can't help but think the police could have done something to save Christophers life. The family was held hostage for 40 minutes! Horrific tragedy and no drugs are no excuse. Brandon should have called the police immediately as well. We aren't safe in our homes, monsters like this one roaming the streets. Rest in peace Christopher 🙏
Christopher was a Hero and a great man protecting his family. So sad his life was taken and taken by a crazy man on drugs. God bless and protect Christopher's wife and children.
Someone bangs on my door I don't answer empty handed, Remington and I answer together.
FFS.
There's always a wannabe cosplay Rambo in the comments, imagining reality will play out exactly like a movie scene where you're the hero who saves the day.
How many cops attended this one? How many of them got shot?
Somehow, you imagine it would go differently for you.
Great story mark.😁
I have a camera for exactly that purpose lol.
Smith & Wesson goes with me
Facts, I grab it every time
“No. Christopher’s dead.” Wtf.
How terrifying. How absolutely terrifying.
My heart breaks for Haley and Charlotte every time I hear this story 💔💔 I hope they never forget how much Christopher loved them
This broke my heart and made me tear up and I don't even know these people. I just can't imagine the horror they felt and the pain the wife and daughter felt after realizing what had happened. Your home is supposed to be your safe place.
he wrestled with the thought to kill christopher before he finally acted. that police officer is making excuses, it looks like William posed a danger to others early on
Everybody always talks about not Violating rights. Then when it comes to situations like this you always want peoples rights to get violated. Like what.
Smoking meth is not an excuse for psychological problems. This was all on William. No excuse.
It seems like a movie! Totally unreal how do you guys find these cases wow I can't believe this is really happened to somebody
It shouldnt have taken the jury 3 hours to decide he was guilty, it should have taken a second.
Ummm…there were NINETEEN charges they had to go through. Each one had to be validated against the evidence and agreed upon by all 12 people. 3 hours is exceptionally efficient.
I get what you’re saying but unless you’ve been on a jury on a case with multiple counts like this you wouldn’t know how long it takes! I’ve been on a jury for a case of serial child abuse where it was clear as day the guy was guilty but it still took us 2 hours to go over the 10 counts and fill out the paper work. Every single member of the jury were on the same page the second we walked into the deliberation room but it still took us 2 hours to come back with guilty on all counts.
wow william’s transformation over time in those photos is frightening
To serve for your country but then be killed in your own country, so heart breaking
Your own house makes it even worse.
I thought pulling a gun on Brandon would have been enough to have William arrested! Perhaps he didn't report the incident after speeding away from William?🇦🇺🤔😢
I was hoping a happy ending but..devastated to learn of Christopher's death 😢
I was,too.I was so hoping that he’d answer his wife’s call.It’s horrible.
It's so heartbreaking, he was such a hero protecting his family😢😢
This one is heartbreaking. So unnecessary. And the way William reassures him that he’ll be ok, then seems to kill him on a whim. So sad.
"Cops *almost save family trapped in house."
His daughter asking for him DESTROYED me. 😢
Absolutely heartbreaking 😢 I have no words
Lock em’ up! Throw away the key! My deepest condolences to Chris(R.I.P)Haley & Charlotte’ this family & loved ones 🕊️a senseless crime shattered a family’s security🤬sicking.
Always "Life in Prison" in this Country. In China or Afghanistan, he'd have the same fate has his Victim. Wasting Taxpayers money.
That is about the only thing they get right in those countries. Western countries are pure failure when it comes to protecting its citizens. They should only get one cig then taken out of the court and dispatched. Makes zero sense to most that we house them etc... but makes perfect sense if you run a business based on occupation and duration.
I agree!
Is this guy is still breathing the justice system failed another us veteran and his family.
We don't have the death penalty in Michigan, because we're not fucking savages.
@@amityislandchum well tinker bell, savages are those that allow this type of conduct to go unpunished in the most severe way. Savages do not care about law and order. Savages care more about the life of killers over innocence.
@@35Colorado What kind of punishment is death? You just give them a way out. You free them from every burden.
@@nillyk5671 if it as such a easy out, those on death row wouldn’t fight the legal battles until they are exhausted. They cherish their life unlike their victims. Killers only care about themselves and they never want to face the chair.
Being anti death penalty doesn’t make one a righteous person. You get no high moral points for having that position. It’s simply means you fail to use logic and instead are led by emotions.
@@amityislandchum I wouldn't want it either because then there is no way to exact revenge! Good call..
That dispatcher knew the assignment from the first word. Smart, and cool as a cucumber.
Poor wife and daughter 😢
That guy should have been provided help 😔 sad case overall. RIP Christopher
SO TRAGIC
Sympathies & Condolences 🙏🙏🙏
God! Listening to Christopher talking to the dispatcher gave me the worst chills and goosebumps! My heart truly breaks for the little angel calling her daddy! This is too hard! It is certainly without a doubt one of the most heart breaking 911 calls I've ever heard and it really broke my heart i couldn't for couple of times to listen to it, his little angel calling for him really truly burned by heart! Praying for his family may he dwell in paradise and thay monster William needs to leave this earth, every breath he takes is an insult to every decent human being. Folks stay safe, secure your residence and be armed at all times, keep your firearm close and easily available in case of any potential home invasion be alert at all times may God Almighty keep you all always safe. Stay safe out there.
I didn’t enjoy this one at all. Probably one of the most horrible stories I’ve ever heard
Yeah this is petrifying. Everyone needs to lock their doors
It is one of the worst cases I've ever encountered online and my heart breaks especially for his little angel and family may he rest in peace.
@@breezymamaand be armed at all times may God keep you and your loved ones safe.
So you've enjoyed other tragic stories?! You probably should have said - This one was very hard to watch.
@julieoluna8887 oh ffs we all knew what she meant, KAREN.
Now you just look like a moron 😅
Omg I feel sick watching this, how dare he do this to anyone 🥺
18 felony charges including attempted murder...and murder and he got life...Christopher no charges and a loving daddy...got the death penalty...that seems very very fair...sarcasm
He shouldn't be allowed letters, phone calls, money on his books, visits...NOTHING! He should feel every bit of having nothing and no one just like Haley and her children feel now. She no longer has her husband and feels a heavy loss all day everyday so so should he.
What about the people who dropped him off and didn't do anything for the safety of others?
If your meeting a guy whose already locked up for fraud, how can you think that's the life for you🤷 r.i.p. Christopher
Instead of taking him to the bus station take him to the hospital to be evaluated!
It’s sickening how these judges are allowing these criminals with a “history” out in society. It’s pronounced P-A-T-T-E-R-E-N!!!! 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
Patteren?
@@ScruffyIsMyName yes, they said he had a “criminal history” and that is NOT what it is. He continued the behavior and it was escalating, hence the pattern!
May that precious hero rest in eternal peace.

What a pretty happy sweet young family 😢
they were....
Why did they wait until gunfire was heard to enter the house?
It’s a terrible situation. They are afraid that if they burst in,that the shooter will react badly, and kill someone.
There is alot more to the body cam than they showed. I don't think You Tube would allow it
Its not just the justice that needs to be better, but what about the people that are suffering from mental health. Mental health system needs to get better aswell.
this was so heart breaking
Bro this whole the system should of done more for the culprit is insane. People get killed and put into situations with high risk individuals with mental issues becasue the state refuses to lock up the crazies and thinks they can help them by “consulting” with them….ridiculous
If only that cop took William to a hospital to evaluate his mental health than dropping him off at a bus station. So many IF’S
This is just so so sad. A young couple whos done good for everyone and this is wot they get 😢 RIP CHRISTOPHER ❤
It was William’s fault entirely. I don’t like blame being shifted all around bc some nut job did something horrible.
Christopher was a true fallen hero. Mental health is no joke on top of knowing what drugs do to him on those drugs but he can't truly blame that on this case when he had done the same before 🤷
It makes me sick the way they continue to have concern over William and his fear that night and his health. What about Christophers fear that night for himself and his family??! William isn't a victim he's a known home intruder and now killer. I have ZERO empathy or sympathy for him and he shouldn't even be spoken of send him off to prison amd forget him.
I wonder had the ex gf and the guy called police immediately if things could've been different.
This store breaks my heart everytime.
I wonder if the cops could have went in silently and neutralized him or stm..
That poor baby knew her Daddy was gone. "I want Daddy".
What woman calls an unknown man who’s in jail three times a day and then invites him to come stay at her house?!?!

@@PerryViolinno comment! Lol
A damn fool! Had he done something to her that would have been her own fault.
What is with these goddamned lawyers?!? And nice of Nicole and friend to call the authorities (NOT!!) after having been set free from the MANIACAL William!! Thank goodness for the jury’s verdict!
This guy should have been in prison
I lived in Kalamazoo at the same time this crime happened, I know that crimes happen all the time every where but to know that a random house was targeted in the same place I was living at the time is crazy
Drug addicts are not victims.
The innocent people hurt and killed by them are the victims.
Omg this made me cry 😭 horrible.
I don’t give 2 fks about his mental issues.
Prayers to the family
RIP Christopher
Title is incorrect - cops didn’t save the whole family 😢
i feel awful for her 😢
We deserve safe-residential-hospitalizes for those that are chronically unmedicated while experiencing debilitating mental health issues. We deserve safety and those suffering deserve treatment and equal care.
MONSTER how was he walking the streets 😢😢😢
Immediately give the address. 911 should have a system that indicates what location the call is coming from
Right?? It's 2024, how can they still not do that??
that doesn't work with a cell phone
Yes.👏👏👏 I work in dispatch for security. I absolutely HATE it even when my co-workers don't start with their location. It wastes so much time to get assistance or to find them on camera when they do this. 🤦♀️ Always start with LOCATION when calling for help!
This case is a stark reminder that things have to change in how we handle mental health issues in this country. Being able to force treatment on those who are potentially violent is paramount. It shouldn't be necessary for the person to be currently a danger to themselves or others, but to have the potential to become a danger to themselves or others. I don't think that they should be locked up in jail. I think that they should be required to have active treatment and be monitored permanently to ensure that the treatment is being followed. This is the only way to protect everyone from cases like this. Christopher is the epitome of what a husband and father should be ❤
The couple who dropped him off should have reported him to the police. They knew he had a gun, and that he blew a gasket.
They didn';t save the family. Christopher was killed.
Jesus. It breaks me to see veterans survive overseas deployment, but die senselessly here at home. His poor wife and babies.
I've been sober 15 years & never done anything close to this. If you're on drugs & do dumb shit imo just admit it & suffer the consequences. People constantly use drugs & mental health as excuses & then when the actual people who do have these issues, we as a society don't believe them. Tragic & disgusting.
