A thank you note to the whole Vortex video and podcast team I wanted to provide you with a little bit of positivity and feedback on the amazing work you do with all your video and podcast content. My mother tongue is German, so please excuse my English. To my backstory: I was born in beautiful Austria and have been living in Switzerland for almost all my life. I was always somewhat interested in guns and gun culture, but wasn`t born into it in any way, shape or form, as my family doesn`t have a gun culture background. When I visited the US a few years ago to attend a friend`s wedding, I took the opportunity to visit a shooting range and for the first time ever shoot a few different pistols and guns. And from that moment on, I was hooked. When I got back to Switzerland, I immediately applied for a gun license and bought my first pistol - a Walther PPQ Q5 Match. Me being me, what preceded this buy was an intense research phase. In short, and partly thanks to my education at the University of Zurich - which puts a strong emphasis on scientific methods - and partly thanks to my incredible stubbornness, I didn`t stop at page one of a Google / UA-cam search for "what`s the best gun"... So, I got deeper and deeper into the gun culture and started reading into weapons themselves, but also all things that go along with them: the technical aspects, cleaning, sighting systems, accessories... And during this research, I finally stumbled upon your video and podcast content - and was hooked from the getgo. You see, there are many available sources on gun content and many of them are good. But the level of detail you go into as well as the variety and diversity of topic experts you include is truly unique. And despite all of that, you manage to present all of this content and knowledge in a way that is interesting, funny, and memorable. I learnt so much from you guys, especially in regards to sighting systems and cartridges / ammunition types and that`s why I not only and mostly wanted to thank you for all your efforts in this note. Because at the end of the day, you run a business as everyone else in this industry does. You absolutely would not HAVE to do what you do, you would not HAVE to invest so much time, resources, and passion into this video and podcast content in the way you do. Of course, this content also serves a marketing purpose to some degree, but everyone who thinks that you get the same amount of money back from such activities that you put into them needs a reality check. So, thank you, thank you, thank you! But I don`t stop there. Because I know that receiving a thank you note is nice, but as said above, at the end of the day, we all need to make a living from what we do. In that respect, putting out free content is sometimes frustrating, especially when you are e.g. confronted with negativity in comments. I know this fact from my own activity on UA-cam, as I create car care related videos. That`s why positive thank you notes really mean the world to me and I`m sure you feel the same. However, what I also do is trying to actually give you something back in my buying decisions. As said above, I went through an intense research phase - and I`m still engaged in it as I think noone is actually and truly ever done with researching on guns and everything related with it. Because after I bought my first pistol, there obviously followed some more. And for (almost) every single one, there`s also and always a decision to make on which sighting system to go for. And that`s why I spend so much time reading and watching reviews or comparisons on LPVOs, scopes, red dot sights, holographic sights, prism sights... you name it. The personal conclusion I came up with is that in today`s day and age and in today`s market, it has most likely become harder to find a really bad optical system instead of at least decent if not good ones. The market and the different offerings have started to look more and more similar in the last couple of years. Yes, there are some differences, some more significant than others, but for the most part, for most people, and for what I use my guns for, these differences are negligible. And that`s why even if where I live Vortex optics are not as readily and easily available as in the US, I went for a Crossfire for my 10-22, a Strike Eagle for my Ruger American Ranch, and I`ll now go for a Strike Eagle for my first AR build, as I can not yet afford a Razor 1-6 or 1-10. Yes, there are and there would have been many good alternatives on the market, and depending on which review you trust, maybe even better options. But I came to the conclusion that for the price and considering the VIP warranty, going with Vortex never ever is a gamble and never ever contains some sort of risk as you might have with newer brands. No matter which review or comparison you consult, Vortex optics (especially scopes and LPVOs) are always amongst the top choices. In that respect, and to bring in one of your beloved car references, going with Vortex is the equivalent to going with Michelin or Continental when it comes to tires: they might not always win all the reviews, but they never ever performed bad in any review and pretty much always are amongst the top choices. In fact, I never ever was disappointed by my choice to go with a Vortex product. Quite the opposite, I always was pleasantly and positively surprised, always thinking that for the price I paid, I got a really really excellent product. But those are not the only reasons I decided to go with Vortex. I also felt that by choosing your products over other offerings, I can - at least to some degree - give you something back. As said above, other manufacturers offer good products, too. The market has become extremely competitive. But no other manufacturer gave me so much in terms of knowledge and joy as you did - and continue to do - with your video and podcast content. So, at the very least, what I can do is consider Vortex in my buying decisions. Long story short: I guess what I wanted to say is thank you! Thank you for all the time, money, effort, passion and love you put into this content. Be sure to know that there are people out there who value and deeply appreciate what you do and that the lengths you go to also results in sales. At least some lousy sales by a Swiss gun nerd. ;) Keep up the fantastic work! P.S.: yes, if you want, you can absolutely read this thank you note in one of your videos / podcasts as I think more people should take the time to thank you for the incredible efforts you put into this content!
Out of the two choices, the hot dog is definitely a breaded taco. It’s based solely on the proper orientation in which one eats a taco and/or hot dog. Great season opener, and the Monty Python teaser was a riot!!
Wow! This trailer was something else. I think Mr Muckenhirn deserves a Oscar for his astounding performance and knowledge of the .308Win 🎉 Also Jimmy's accent was so horrible i couldnt tell what it was imitating 😂
Great episode men, thank you. Is ketchup a sauce? My Australian wife of 47 years never refers to ketchup as ketchup. “Hand me the tomato sauce!” Ketchup is tomato sauce in our home. Does tomato sauce belong on a hot dog sandwich? That’s the domain of spicy mustard & kraut, in my opinion. Cheers.
LOVE the spaghetti shoot-outs!!! so good. Hey tell us what watches you all are using...looks like both Mark and Ryan are using some digital smart watches....maybe garmin. tell us about them.
Spaghetti shoot out on the feed, let’s go!! My meatball of the month question is in a home defense situation, are you reaching for the 14.5” ar-15 or the 9mm pistol. Both have red dots (vortex of course) and flash lights.
How about having Jim not be able to see the score while the questions are answered. I am a huge fan of Ryan, he emailed directly and helped me out with which rings to put on my Tikka a few years back. I think this would be the most fair for Mark and he wouldn't have to think Jim was on Ryan's side. And my Meatball Question, which hunting/firearms/optic company would you work for that is not Vortex?
I like Ryan's argument with the Alien/Outsider. I would say it is based on common sense logic. Hotdog is definitely not a Taco, I think I can reason it as a Sandwich.
I’d sure like to see you guys compete in a game of rifle battleship, each using your favorite rifle. At 200 to 300 yards. Or whatever you are mutually comfortable with. This giving each individual there best opportunity in there best element. Or a game of rifle poker. Then we can really see who’s the best of the vortex podcast.
Thanks for making me laugh. Definitely not worried about scent if your wearing 5 day old underpants lol. What would your alien friend think. A good question for a future episode. Is water wet?
ALL 3 you goof balls got mad talent in more than 1 area. I whatch this channel way too much... Ryans kimber runnin 130grain barnes has become my grail gun/ammo set up... Currently slingin ball rounds w sks thru tasco 4×15 "LPVO" Half inch m.o.a. @440 suckers
Hot dog is absolutely a sandwich, of the bread roll sandwich variety. Technically it would be a hoagie, unless your bun splits, at which point it becomes a sub.
Mark, of course you won't find a hot dog sandwich at the store. You have to buy the hot dog and the bun separately. You build the "sandwich" yourself at home
As intelligent as Ryan is he is completely wrong about the hotdog being a sandwich. With his thinking it would be more appropriate to call a gyro a taco 😂
Mark won on the sandwiches & ya all wrong Ketchup is a condiment. If ya need it the food needs flavour & is crap to start with. 1 is served with the food the other is an add on. I have a Need to know question about my Viper 5x25x50
Ketchup by definition, is a sauce so is gravy even mayo. Also I think Mark was on edibles he was too subdued. #whodosedmark If Aliens do visit though, I think they are not going to be concerned about pig part meat tubes in a flour yeast delivery system... Also, a hotdog unto itself is not a sandwich it is its own individual item. You can eat just a hotdog on a stick at a campfire or with noodles or with beans etc. A burger is also not a sandwich it is the ground meat pattie. So until put in a bread delivery system neither is a sammie. Just like you can eat pieces of Ham but then put them into a Ham sandwich. We have just abbreviated the distinction so that we don't have to say burger pattie sandwich. And that's the double truth Ruth.
Meatball question: If you were hunting the hot dog sandwich eating alien wearing Mark’s 5 day old underpants, and the alien weighs 400 pounds and has super thick skin, what caliber, bullet and scope would you use to dispatch it at 300 yards?
I have a meatball of the month question: If you can only hunt three animals for the rest of your life what would they be? And maybe a twist you also can only hunt them with one weapon/caliber.
Scent game is overrated. HECS suits are AWESOME and its real ….or so ive seen on the web….and the ButtOut tool is also AWESOME……Hot Dogs are NOT sammiches. And as Usual Mark got hosed.
Ask the native Americans which is better a rifle or a bow. Travel to their segregated little spots because their bows lost to rifles. Crap, well spoiler alert…
Mark is just trying to punch above his weight, Ryan should’ve been a lawyer 😂
Manlicky Shoeshiner😂😂😂 funniest thing I've heard Jim say!

Hot Dog Sanwich answer from Ryan was hilarius.
Glad to have back the Spaguetti ShootOut.
You guys are hilarious! Thanks for making our evening great!
Thank YOU for tuning in!
I agree with Mark ..... Ryan has obviously paid off Judge Jimmy ;-) Another good show!
Mark is super cool, Ryan is a computer
You might be on to something. @@BrentforMLA
“Don’t ask me so many questions to try and make me contradict myself”
That’s so funny dude
#meatball : Best way to communicate with nearby hunting partners? (Phone/texting, handheld radio, smoke signals, ext..)
I have to say y'all are soo right, spaghetti shootout is sooo much better watched. 😂😂😂
So if you had to choose one other optic for hunting, not including scope and binos, what would you choose?
Out of the two choices, the hot dog is definitely a breaded taco. It’s based solely on the proper orientation in which one eats a taco and/or hot dog.
Great season opener, and the Monty Python teaser was a riot!!
This logic passes.
It's back baby!
We are BACK
Wow! This trailer was something else. I think Mr Muckenhirn deserves a Oscar for his astounding performance and knowledge of the .308Win 🎉
Also Jimmy's accent was so horrible i couldnt tell what it was imitating 😂
Awesome I've been waiting for another episode!!!
Meatball: Archery season is here! What broadhead are you taking into the woods? Fixed blade, expandable, or hybrid?
Made my night to see this video pop up in my subs.
🍻
My meatball question is, What is the best snack to take hunting?
Welcome Back. Been Waiting.
Cheers.
This is a great point to consider 😂
LOVE the spaghetti shoot-outs!!! so good. Hey tell us what watches you all are using...looks like both Mark and Ryan are using some digital smart watches....maybe garmin. tell us about them.
Both are using the Gamrin Instinct ⌚
Spaghetti shoot out on the feed, let’s go!! My meatball of the month question is in a home defense situation, are you reaching for the 14.5” ar-15 or the 9mm pistol. Both have red dots (vortex of course) and flash lights.
Hot dog is a taco unless the bun splits. At which point it metamorphosisisisis into a sandwich. Change my mind.
Ohhh we like the logic here.
My meatball would be “what is the best cheese?”
LOTS of opinions on that here.
😂 I think this was the best episode yet.
I have really missed these shootouts. I mean, I know it's important for Jim to hunt unicorns but it is good to have him back, too.
I just want to say ya'll are my heros and you absolutely made my day!!!!! I'm LMAO!!!! So freaking funny!!
🫶 glad you liked it 😂
I love the monty python reference !
Hilarious! I missed this!
We missed you
If you could only hunt one thing, clearly Whitetail deer or eastern turkey, what would you hunt and why?
I'm going with the rifle man
How about having Jim not be able to see the score while the questions are answered. I am a huge fan of Ryan, he emailed directly and helped me out with which rings to put on my Tikka a few years back. I think this would be the most fair for Mark and he wouldn't have to think Jim was on Ryan's side. I just love you guys😂😂😂
The Python group would be absolutely loving this !!!!

Monty Python reference made me belly laugh!!!
Next arguments; non traditional hunting weapons; crossbow vs PCP rifle?
Appreciate the feedback. We will see what we can whip up!
Thanks for making me laugh. Definitely not worried about scent if your wearing 5 day old underpants lol. What would your alien friend think. A good question for a future episode. Is water wet?
Boardman vs Jimmy and muck runs the show I need to see this
🤗 ua-cam.com/video/YeW9RNjqzjU/v-deo.html
Meatball: best hunting snack in the woods if it has to be a gas station snack/food.
Alien
Is definitely how y'all should settle debates.
Meatball of the month
300 win mag vs 300 short
ALL 3 you goof balls got mad talent in more than 1 area.
I whatch this channel way too much...
Ryans kimber runnin 130grain barnes has become my grail gun/ammo set up...
Currently slingin ball rounds w sks thru tasco 4×15 "LPVO"
Half inch m.o.a. @440 suckers
Usually Ryan isn't wrong, but I have to say a hot dog is definitely not a sandwich. It's the meat part, the bun is optional.
Hot dog is absolutely a sandwich, of the bread roll sandwich variety. Technically it would be a hoagie, unless your bun splits, at which point it becomes a sub.
🤔 Bow Hunting Is Harder And You Will Learn Much More! It Made Me A Much Better Hunter! 👍
If you want hunting to be harder mate just walk backwards🤷🏽♂️
Mark obviously loses on purpose. He likes the underdog status
Mark, of course you won't find a hot dog sandwich at the store. You have to buy the hot dog and the bun separately. You build the "sandwich" yourself at home
Let’s go
MEAT BALL What's a better MEATBALL prize a Boardman signed mug shot OR Muckenhirn signed photo (known as a mucky yuckie)
Both are valid. But I'll be honest. I have zero interest in bows. Not sure why but I like firearms far more.
Hilarious 😂😂
🤣 Great Acting! 👍
🕵️♂️ I Still Like Shooting My Rifles More Though! 😜 Which Do You Get More Excited Over Handling - A Nice Rifle Or A Nice Bow? 😂 Exactly! 💥
Spot and stalk... Also known as hunting.
Ketchup by definition, is a sauce so is gravy even mayo. I became a better hunter when I became a bow hunter.
Meatball......If the 300 Woman's Soft Magnum is so great why isn't there a 400 Woman's Soft Magnum?
Meatball.getting your wife or your best friend on the frist deer hunt
Once again Mark was robbed.
It’s not that Jim doesn’t like Mark. I think he enjoys drama when Mark looses 😂
Meatball question: If you were hunting the hot dog sandwich eating alien wearing Mark’s 5 day old underpants, and the alien weighs 400 pounds and has super thick skin, what caliber, bullet and scope would you use to dispatch it at 300 yards?
FANTASTIC meatball question
I have a meatball of the month question: If you can only hunt three animals for the rest of your life what would they be? And maybe a twist you also can only hunt them with one weapon/caliber.
Rigged! 😂
Excellent show Mark is a crybaby
Obviously a Butt Out tool is the most embarrassing
Scent game is overrated. HECS suits are AWESOME and its real ….or so ive seen on the web….and the ButtOut tool is also AWESOME……Hot Dogs are NOT sammiches. And as Usual Mark got hosed.
