I wish there was a full version with Olivia Olson's voice! It's weird hearing someone else do a demo for her for a change. I listen to Phineas and Ferb demos that she sings for Ashley Tisdale sometimes.
This is song may have been on a kids show but describes most childrens lives in a cute version. You just have to listen carefully and notice what it's actually saying. Child abandonment is something very serious to a childs futre and shouldn't be taken lightly. ... I would know ~I so love this song btw XD
after hearing this i grabbed my guitar and started practicing and when my dad got some i sang it for him he didnt eat my blood or nothin but this kind of describes how i feel some times
@glpl111 Olivia Olson sung the version in the episode, where Finn's beatboxing. Rebecca Sugar composes and sings it in this one. She sings a bunch of her own songs as a demo before they're sung for the episode.
It's almost unbelivable.. I just watched that adventure time episode where marceline is playing this song. It got so fast in my ear that i repeated the scene over and over again. And now that I look it up on UA-cam there is an extended cut with 850.000+ views.. seriously guys, there aren't that many bad people in the world :D I always wonder how often something like this happens..
This is the original version, written and performed by Rebecca Sugar- if you want to see the other demos, visit Rob Sugar's channel. He has four-five videos of the original demos/songs used in the actual show.
this version is from the blog of the woman who wrote the song for the show, but they only used the last bit, thats why fin isnt beat boxing in this version
*snickers* It sounds like such a touching song. Awww, she's just a girl who misses her daddy. And then she goes, "Daddy, why did you eat my fries?" And it turns into something random.
This song will always hold a special place in my heart not because I have any daddy issues or anything but because my dad literally ate my fries when I was a toddler and apparently I cried 🤣
@aquoswolf This is not Marceline singing this in the show, this is the person who writes AT songs playing a rough draft of the song pitched for this episode.
@zntostairtv It's really her voice actress if you can believe it! A lot of voice actors and actresses sound different without the extra work they put into it so it fits the animation
@garagemom99 Rebecca Sugar is the girl who sings this song. Olivia might sing the others, but this particular version is a clean version of a video where Rebecca Sugar introduced herself then sung it.,
He age is "over 1000". She was a child shortly after the "Mushroom War" (Nuclear war between human beings). Same with the Ice King, he is a human from before the Mushroom war, his crown caused him to go crazy and be what he is in the show 1000 years later.
One of the best shows on Cartoon Network. Or at least it's better than the crap that they've been producing the past two years. I think this cartoon will bring back the nostalgic feel of the old classic CN.
Nice acoustic rendition. Very creative. Just ignore all the "It's just a kids show" comments. Music is music no matter where it comes from. Besides, believe it or not, this show has alot of fans over the age of 18 easily. I guess becase Jake the dog has the same voice as Bender from Futurama and that's a show that is very adult oriented.
@isuperlink Bad analogy. What i'm saying is language inevitably changes. There is a reason why we aren't speaking Olde English right now. The definition of certain words changes over time, and so does word usage. I guarantee that within the next 300 years the correct use of "My..and I" will become even more scarce until a point where it is completely disregarded. In case you didn't notice the English language is littered with flaws/unsual rules that we are suppose to follow becuase its "proper"
It actually made me cry too, because my dad is the same way. Besides eating my fries, but you get the picture. Daddy, my cursed blood is your cursed blood... so come on back and be my bud...
actually Marceline was literally born to Abadeer her mother was human so marcy is half demon half human. its why she was a little girl during the mushroom war. its also why she drinks the color red instead of blood. great remake of the song though
I wish she was in more episodes. When she said she didn't want to hang out with Finn anymore(Episode "Daddy's Little Monster"), I thought she was joking. :/
You shouldn't cry over that, you should get over it. Im not sure how old you are nor do I know the situation you are in, but if he doesn't want you then he is not worth the tears. Let him live his life how he want, and you continue to make yourself happy without him
Technically the first episode where her age is mentioned is "Evicted." In the song that plays, she says, "I'm not mean, I'm 1,000 years old and I just lost track of my moral code." So there. w *nods*
Actually i saw this episode. But it's still doesn't so simple. Probably by this authors wanted to show us difficult relationships between a daughter and her father. But i dunno maybe they didn't try to. Anyway everyone can see this in different ways that's why this cartoon is so magnificent.
@Nichimoon I don't think this is Marceline's voice actress (Olivia Olson) singing this. It was an Adventure Time storyboard artist (Rebecca Sugar). The voice doesn't sound like Marceline, and it says it in the description. But hey, let's all just thumb up a comment that's inaccurate! Won't be the first time, won't be the last.
"I can count your visits on my fingertips..."
For a song from a kids show, that hit me pretty hard..
As someone who has a fraught relationship with their father this actually makes me tear up. Very pretty song.
It's amazing how a song from a cartoon can make you cry, then smile, then tear up again and laugh while crying.
That was amazing. She deserves her own record label. Marceline is the best. One hell of a girl
no in a later episode Finn goes enters her memories, he literally eats her fries
I wish there was a full version with Olivia Olson's voice! It's weird hearing someone else do a demo for her for a change. I listen to Phineas and Ferb demos that she sings for Ashley Tisdale sometimes.
'Daddy, do you even love me?'
if they did a studio album for marceline, it would sell great.
This is song may have been on a kids show but describes most childrens lives in a cute version. You just have to listen carefully and notice what it's actually saying. Child abandonment is something very serious to a childs futre and shouldn't be taken lightly. ... I would know
~I so love this song btw XD
My daddy never eats my fries, and he always gives me his... that's the true love of a father for his daughter!
This reminds of my dad and I. That moment you find a song that describes ur situation exactly.
This song is strangely beautiful. Such a great show :P
It is just amazing how a song meant for a non serious comedic cartoon could be so...emotional.
Just learned this song on my guitar. It's probably gonna be stuck in my head all night XD
I'm 30 and love this show. No shame.
Even though some of the lyrics of this song are silly, most of the song is just bitter sweet and I love her voice :"D
Love this cartoon :) One of my favorites.
"Daddy, do you even love me?"
Ouch. ;3;
Crap, I'm thinking about my mom now. *sigh* Still love this song though. The music on AT is surprisingly good!
I started to get tears in my eyes when I heard this song ...
My Daddy at my McDonald fries I was so upset I love their fries I feel why your so upset Marceline and Marceline is my favorite character :)
6 years ago woah
Whoa... I so relate to this... I want to grow up to be Marceline...
Um no, she's singing about how she's thinks her father doesn't love her.
after hearing this i grabbed my guitar and started practicing and when my dad got some i sang it for him he didnt eat my blood or nothin but this kind of describes how i feel some times
Dad eats my fries
Me: burst out into song "daddy do you even love me! well i wish you show it"
Dad:umm i just wanted a few
I really like the Extended Parts you added, it makes it more of a song from when Finn got bummed out and stop the beat.
This gave me goosebumps. :/
So many people with daddy problems, including me!
Deep...
You don't know how much I love you for the mediafire download. I couldn't seem to get it off the other site.
Something about Marceline's voice is so....enchanting.
God it's great.
This is why I love AT, so goofy and wild on the outside and surprisingly deep and sometimes dark on the inside
@glpl111 Olivia Olson sung the version in the episode, where Finn's beatboxing. Rebecca Sugar composes and sings it in this one. She sings a bunch of her own songs as a demo before they're sung for the episode.

@lumbuxia That would be cool. This song is the best! Thanks for making an extended version of this :D
This is the original version, written and performed by Rebecca Sugar- if you want to see the other demos, visit Rob Sugar's channel. He has four-five videos of the original demos/songs used in the actual show.
I have a feeling this isn't really about fries. I think the fries are a metaphor. Maybe he killed her mom or something.
this version is from the blog of the woman who wrote the song for the show, but they only used the last bit, thats why fin isnt beat boxing in this version
Curse you for making this. I can't stop listening to it.
@aquoswolf This is not Marceline singing this in the show, this is the person who writes AT songs playing a rough draft of the song pitched for this episode.
She also calls it a bass in other episodes.
It's also called a "bass guitar", so it's understandable why someone would call it a guitar.
This is really pretty, and I am glad you did this. Im not quite understanding these haters, but this was really sweet
@zntostairtv
It's really her voice actress if you can believe it! A lot of voice actors and actresses sound different without the extra work they put into it so it fits the animation
@garagemom99 Rebecca Sugar is the girl who sings this song. Olivia might sing the others, but this particular version is a clean version of a video where Rebecca Sugar introduced herself then sung it.,
this song is so touching when you don't think about the whole fry part. :)
that....that is.........a nice feeling to have, ive never felt this way. holy shit, thank you
@theguyonthepenny64 This is the original version, for some reason this is labeled as extended. On the show it was just shortened.
He age is "over 1000". She was a child shortly after the "Mushroom War" (Nuclear war between human beings). Same with the Ice King, he is a human from before the Mushroom war, his crown caused him to go crazy and be what he is in the show 1000 years later.
this is absolutely brilliant
One of the best shows on Cartoon Network. Or at least it's better than the crap that they've been producing the past two years. I think this cartoon will bring back the nostalgic feel of the old classic CN.
@iHappyMuffin that's because it was written for uke. but, you can also play it on bass due to the chord structure
Its the extended parts the directors put in. I like it.
@FearaTheDragoness: Really good song, you're really talented and deep... Plus I love the Uke... keep on making badass music like that... God bless
I love this. the voice, the backround pics, the voice. Awesome! ;D
@JennaMay410 no, it's Olivia Olson, who is also a singer/songwriter, so I'm not sure why they didn't have her do the song...
@iHappyMuffin this is the original from the creators blog. the clip they used for the show is recorded with a bass.
That is so great!! Keep doing your thing! It's beautiful and amazing!!
@isuperlink Bad analogy. What i'm saying is language inevitably changes. There is a reason why we aren't speaking Olde English right now. I love how marceline and Vanessa are voiced by the same person AND sang a song about there dads
Such a great song!!! Perfect for "bowls" towards chilling!!!!
wait you made this LEGEND !!!!
Thats very nice of you to help someone :)
I think its from the episode called "It Came from the Nightosphere" :)
good episode!
an extra 2 minutes about her dad eating her fries.....AWESOME!!!
It actually made me cry too, because my dad is the same way. Besides eating my fries, but you get the picture. Daddy, my cursed blood is your cursed blood... so come on back and be my bud...
I love this song
His name is Schwable, he's Marceline's zombie poodle.
DUDE THIS IS AWESOME!!
Marceline is my fav.Is so beautiful.I love that song!
this is PURE awesomeness
i love the ukulele chord progression in this song
I can't stop listening to this song.
My dad ate my fries, but I don't mind because we shared our fries. XD
He wasn't time traveling. He was in marceline s memories
This is AWESOME!....Rebecca sounds almost like Marceline.....
This is so beautiful I want to cry!
@hauteGIRL57 it's not marceline's voice actor, it was the storyboard artist. it's not supposed to be professional, it's just to test it out
That was wonderful. Thank you for sharing it.
she has been over 100 years old in every single episode....
actually Marceline was literally born to Abadeer her mother was human so marcy is half demon half human. its why she was a little girl during the mushroom war. its also why she drinks the color red instead of blood. great remake of the song though
I wish she was in more episodes. When she said she didn't want to hang out with Finn anymore(Episode "Daddy's Little Monster"), I thought she was joking. :/
@nigahiga68 That's what I thought when I first heard it! :P She's really saying "Why did you leave me?"
this song makes me teary 'cause my dad has been a douche lately. But I still love him.
You shouldn't cry over that, you should get over it. Im not sure how old you are nor do I know the situation you are in, but if he doesn't want you then he is not worth the tears. Let him live his life how he want, and you continue to make yourself happy without him

You're quite amazing and now I'd like to hug you :3
I sang this during school and my friends were just saring at me like 'What the ...' It was great!
God I love this song so much
XC sorry marceline he ate your fries
Actually i saw this episode. But it's still doesn't so simple. Probably by this authors wanted to show us difficult relationships between a daughter and her father. But i dunno maybe they didn't try to. Anyway everyone can see this in different ways that's why this cartoon is so magnificent.
