This was my first ever bike. I bought one for £700 back in 2010 after passing my CBT. Arrived in a box and I assembled it on my doorstep. Longest trips I took on it was London to Torquay and back! Great bike, enjoyed every minute of it.
One of the best reviews I have ever heard anywhere regarding this bike, I am about to buy a 2012 Better BT-20 125, the sister bike to this. Thank you for all the advice. Sally
No worries. Just in case you didn't see the annotation, the engine isn't a parallel twin as I say in the video, it's a single cylinder copy of the Honda CG engine.
What a superb review! Well articulated and balanced. As an owner of one of these bikes I would agree with everything that was said. I'd recommend this bike to anyone.
Hello, I have just purchase a 2008 Haotian 125-8, it needs some work. I would love you to do a video showing the position of the choke and carburettor switches, as this is my first bike and I am unsure what position they should both be in when starting the bike. Thanks.
aj mcclay unfortunately I no longer have this bike as I sold it some years ago. I can tell you that the choke switch should be fully raised for cold starting, centralised for warm up, and fully down for normal running. the fuel tap has icons which show main, reserve, and off.
Thanks for that . I am looking out for a 125 and this looks like it is quite impressive and also fun for a tinkerer like me ! Very informative little review . Keep 'em coming ! :)
Interesting to find this, a company in UK was rebadging these as direct bikes thunderbird, got one about 2014 for 800 quid new. Gearbox shift plate failed at 400 miles. Replaced it with a genuine honda one. Clutch and brake handles were made of crystalised metal and snapped needing replacing. All in all though used it for three years and never serviced it at all then stuck it on ebay for 200 quid. It was slow and heavy but actually wasn't too bad. I kinda miss it tbh.😂👍
Hello can someone please tell me what the top speed is of this beautiful bike? I'm looking to buy it really soon just need to know for further on in time, thanks.
i see you driving through street at the end there, i have just got one and am in glastonbury. brilliant little bike, especially for the country as you say, but im going to put a 17 tooth sprocket and a 118 chain so it is a little better on longer journeys.
Great review, I've had this bike for 4 months now. Rides nicely and he was right about spark plug cap. Where can I get parts for this bike? the piece that holds the foot rest and foot brake has snapped completely and is only held by the end of the muffler..
Best thing to do is take it to a motorbike specialist garage and have the mechanic take a look at it. If it's brand new and still under warranty, take it back to the dealer for examination.
The engine is a pushrod single cylinder, not an overhead camshaft twin cylinder as I say in the review. It's a mistake that a number of people have made with this bike as the original Honda was camshaft twin and the Huoniao retains the dual exhaust ports. Pushrod engines like this one generally put out around 10Bhp which is great for commuting to work or college but not much else. That's not to say it won't handle a long journey but you won't be going very fast!
I mention in this video that I had to be recovered and the bike taken to the garage after it shorted out in the rain one day. You can get spark caps/plugs from most automotive webistes. I recommend wemoto.com. It has a great selection of motorcycle parts.
This bike in the video does not have an overhead cam twin cylinder engine but a pushrod single cylider engine with a split exhaust port for twin echaust. Two valves only. Good bike though not built for racing.
a full tank will give you 300 km before running dry (186 miles). I reset the odometer to zero whenever i refuel and when it gets to around 280 - 290 i fill her up again :)
@@vapinpenguin in the 6 years since asking this question I have got my full licence and done more than 50k miles on 4 seperate motorcycles, appreciate the response though lad
good little bike. just like the lexmoto arizona its cheap cheerful and gets the job done at less than half the price of the competition. they do need a bit of tlc , but any respectful owner should manage
you information about this bike is off it is not an over head cam it is a pushrod cg clone engine also the cm125 was a twin cylinder not a single it is also not a cruiser
You're absolutely right! I made this when I had only just gotten my L Plates. I remember reading somewhere that it was a CM125 clone so naturally I assumed that the engine was like-for-like. I soon discovered that it's more of a Honda CG and back when UA-cam allowed annotations, I put one in correcting myself. I've left the video up so hopefully people will learn from my mistakes 😅
@@ThePeoplesRider i do have to admit it does look the same as the cm125 bar the engine shame they did not use the twin cylinder engine they have in the jinlun etc#

Anyone tell me that how me make insurance. Coz many companies don't knows the Make
Yes, I put in an annotation to correct myself a while ago. Did you see it? Or is it not working?
I have no ideners working what is the fault did work
I checked wemoto for spark plugs but they don't have huoniao models. Which modle should inwork off of
where do i get the spares for this bike in the year 2018
Hey,the fuel lock on the left side of this bike under the seat, should it be turned to the left or the right?
Thanks for that . I am looking out for a 125 and this looks like it is quite impressive and also fun for a tinkerer like me !

have you got, or know where i can get the manual for this bike...?
Nice bike, I have one myself.
One correction though, the bike is a single cylinder overhead valve not twin cylinder overhead cam.

Hi mate I'm thinking of getting one but I'm 6 foot 3 I'm i to tall for the bike?
the best review I've seen of this bike and has encouraged me even more to buy it! Also is that the stock sound or exhaust modifications? Thanks

Mine idles at 2k there will be an idle speed and mixture screw on the carb turning those down decrease the idle speed
Hi, What is the top speed this bike will do and how fast does it go up hills? Thanks.
Cruising speed is 50mph. It'll slow to 40mph on a steep hill.

Scott Josh2.0 Also, are the original Honda CM125 parts usable parts?
Google Chinese motorcycle parts. There is a website that sells nothing but. They will have the part you need! :)

thank for the replay i will be buying one ather chrismas

why do you have 2 of them?

This was a single cylinder not a twin. But this was my first bike and have some fond memories.
What would this bike be like for a very short person? say 5ft?
it has quite a low seat so you should be fine :)
Where did you get your sparkplug replacement from?

a correction it not overhead cam it is pushrod engine :)

you know the tank is it plastic or metal
Very well done review.
It's a 12 litre metal tank with (I think) a litre in reserve :)
