Listen. Piny Luo has been celebrated from time immemorial, scaling up four years ago. As you have heard, this is the 4th edition. The fact that it was not noticed before is the real question, and if you were really honest you would know exactly why this was not the case. Luos have always had festivals, and just because those like you from "Mt Kenya" have suddenly woken up to that now should not create rancour, complaint or envy. Stop it. Ask the right question; why were the rest of us not aware of this event before? Why was it ignored by the Kenya state? (And the answer you suspect is the correct one). No one has ever said anything about those Central Kenya Kasarani meetings, the oathing ceremonies and circumnavigating one mountain or another while calling Luos "Kihee". Leave us alone. In 2022 Kenya showed the Luo Peoples that they want nothing to do with our people as leaders, we were mocked and abused, and our broken hearts laughed at. Do you know how painful it was to appear in public with the Luo name attached? Do you remember when someone expressed concern that the Luos seemed to have become silent? Yes. If we have now deliberately chosen to turn /look within (and our "within" covers nations of East, Central, Horn and parts of West Africa--it was an empire after all-- just as the rest of Kenya wanted, please do not complain. You people are so lost, so confused. By the time you get your bearings, Kenya will have moved a great deal.
