This is why I like your reviews. You're honest and you really use the thing to try it out from opening to closing. Can you try a robot vacuum? I've always wondered how well they work and how often they need to be cleaned out and stuff.
I bought an EZ-Bed almost 15 years ago, we had the same issue with comfort, my in-laws who were sleeping on it bought a topper as well. I had no issues putting it back at the end though, it was always easy. I ended up building a murphy bed from a kit and lumber/plywood and put a good mattress, sure it's more expensive, but as it was never leaving the home the easy carrying wasn't that much of a benefit for us.
I've had one of these for more than 10 years. Mine came from Frontgate, and I suspect ones on Amazon aren't as good quality. I love mine. Still comfy, still fully functional, zipper on case still works. 10 out of 10. One thing people who aren't used to it do that makes it not as comfy is they don't inflate it enough. I have never had any issue with stability. It's not uneven in the least. I use a nice mattress pad (the kind you can launder, not a topper.) This is the bed I set up for my elderly mom who has had 2 hips and a knee replaced and has difficulty getting in and out of bed. I also have several air mattresses and a collapsible frame, and those are 10x more difficult to set up and take down, they aren't as compact, and they eventually poke a hole in every air mattress.
I love the wheels and case idea. I think most big tents and air mattresses should have one. It's definitely a bed to build on. Maybe in a few years there will be a better one, but it will cost double by then 😥
We have had one of these for years now and find it great. Good size and you can adjust the comfort level very easily. So simple to operate the hardest part is getting it out of the attic. One of the bestbuys we have made.
Every so often, we get a glimpse of just how tall you really are. It should not take someone of your impressive size to repack a bed which is supposed to be pretty much self-storing. This is one of those really great ideas which, properly executed, could have been great. Instead, they froze their mattress technology back in the 1970s. If they updated to the current air mattress configurations and fixed the minor frame/storage issues, I think this could be a winner. Really appreciate your honest reviews. I had considered getting one, now? Nope.
For $350 you can get a decent sized memory foam mattress... sure it won't be as portable going forward but, surely much more comfortable. I guess this thing would only be good for if you are staying at someone's home for awhile who doesn't have a 2nd bed for you. I guess. Thanks for the review.
My Aerobed mattress has the same divets and bumps and they are not comfortable. It probably has something to do with how air matresses take the weight. I used the aerobed with a mattress topper, when I visited my Dad. What I hated most was getting up off the floor even though it was one of the taller mattresses. Having a bed frame would definitely make it easier to get in and out of bed. I think a mattress topper is always necessary with these type of air mattresses.
In my experience, most air mattresses will deflate somewhat overnight the first couple times they're used, due to the plastic stretching out from its factory shape. To me the big problem with this type of bed is that it would be harder to detect and patch a real leak if one were to develop because you can't flip the mattress around easily. It's a shame too because it would be a great solution for guests who have difficulty getting up off an air mattress on the floor.
Hey cool, I had one of these same beds! It worked great until the area around the inflation part broke out of nowhere so it only stayed inflated for 30 minutes then you were in a hammock 🤣
I use this at my parents apartment. We’ve been thru so many air mattresses and they’ve all broke after a few days. This thing is just a god send, it gives much better support than a regular one, and it’s pretty darn comfy too. The legs aren’t the best but it gives a great experience for what it is
We bought this 5-10 years ago, I don't know if the mfg is the same, but our guests liked it after we used after a topper. Our version doesn't have the leg issues and it packs away easily
I just use two inflatable mattresses one on top of the other (with a rug pad in between them to keep the top one from sliding). If one springs a leak, it's cheap to replace. I don't have the ones with a built-in pump. I use a cheap comforter under the fitted sheet for comfort and to keep from feeling the plastic.

Another thing not shown is that the unit with the mattress pad will not be nearly so compact. The mattress pad may actually be larger than the mattress when stored. The mattress is doing very little anyway once you add a 3" pad. Buy a thicker foam pad and sleep on the floor.
A decent air matress on the floor will probably way more comfy aside from way cheaper as well. This feels like something you pull out once a year to flex on your guests on how hi tech your extra bed is.

It is a great product, I have purchased two over the last 10 years. Place a base on the mattress, that is a blanket and a mattress topper then a sheet. Adjust the firmness and it sleeps very well.

Could you do a comparison and review for different sleep masks? There’s several on Amazon that are different styles and offer different benefits. Would be cool to see which ones work better in terms of comfort, light blocking, sleeping in bed (side sleep/regular sleep) vs sleeping while sitting i.e. on a plane, etc. Been a subscriber viewer for a long time and your videos are always interesting and entertaining even if I’m not looking to buy the item you’re reviewing. Keep up the awesome work!
I bought a queen size air bed and while it's wonderfully comfortable it's a job to get it back to a manageable size. I was moving into a new apartment so was able to use the shelves to my bookshelves to flatten it each time but it took three days to do it nicely. Something that deflated and had it's own storage is appealing.. right now mine is sitting over under my desk while I figure out where and how to store it.
I actually used this same air bed myself for over a month after moving. I only just deflated it to put it away today. I used gravity to my advantage and had no problems getting it back into the case. Instead of pushing the bars together horizontally, tip the bed up on its end so they are stacked vertically so they compress more completely.
Thank you for reviewing this item. I'm a huge camping fan. But as my age progresses, sleeping on the ground has been deterring me from going camping the last couple of years. When I saw this a few months back I was going to get it but wanted to wait to see how the reviews were. The putting away seems too much for me to warrant to purchase it. Now I am on the hunt for an alternative.
Ancient history, my dude. I bought three twin-sized units from QVC (I think) fifteen or so years ago. Leaks can be problematic but they’re not from manufacturing, in my experience. Chasing leaks can be frustrating. I suggest using a blanket as the base layer as there’s a lot of air that has to warmed to be comfortable. I can sleep acceptably on the twin as it’s too narrow to rock like your queen example. The twin is also easier to put away.
It's really cool how it sets itself up. However, at least part if the frame lifting on the sides appears to be how that "casing" sits under parts of the frame. As far as comfort, inflatable mattresses tend to not be all the comfortable anyway. It seems like it could be ab acceptable solution for people who need an extra bed for company (maybe let the company have your bed and you take the inflatable). But, as you said it's rather expensive. I notice it doesn't deflate as well as it inflates.
I have one of these beds, and have been using it over a year. I LOVE IT! I have back and hip problems and an air mattress is the only type of mattress I can sleep on comfortably. I did purchase a foam mattress pad/topper for even more comfort. I feel it was a very good investment.
Thanks for the review. When that bed first came out, I was tempted to get one. Now, we rent rollaway beds when needed. There's nothing to store when the guests go home!
definitely not a knock on you James, 100% the product, but if you have to go out and buy a $70 mattress topper to make sleeping on it tolerable... I'd just buy the topper to use on the floor, and forget the $360 TikTok bed! lmao love the unbiased video with your always honest opinion!
NGL, seeing it put away was so helpful in decision making. It is tempting to get something where all the parts are stored compactly in one thing without the need for a giant tote that takes up way to much extra room. You end up storing them separately and invariably when you're cleaning out storage space, moving things and the frame gets moved away from the air mattress and you can't seem to find it six months later when you need it. I have a full size air mattress (double high) with a mattress topper and sheets that I put in a "cube space bag" all together and it is great. I also have a twin that I do the same with. I've been thinking of a queen with a frame or something for guests that might stay more than a weekend and that's why this was tempting. I may look into a murphy bed instead.
We had a similar air bed years ago. It did not expand on its own like this one. You had to open up the frame (very much like one of those folding lawn chairs). On top of the frame there was a zippered compartment that you would slide the mattress into once inflated. It was a relatively comfortable bed, but the setup and takedown was a bit tedious, and it was very difficult to get everything back into the bag.
I've owned 2 and they are ok with a good quality memory foam topper .... and they are a lot easier to put away if you help them to fold properly as it deflates too.... I find the problem with them (and a serious problem too) is that after the first few inflate / deflate cycles they start loosing pressure through the night until it gets to the point where your waking up half way through the night lying on a deflated mattress on stilts .... at this point you have 2 options ..... wake up the whole house to reinflate it whilst you are still on it. or 2 take your life (and skin) into your own hands trying to get off the thing whilst it is not inflated..... Like I said ... I have owned 2 and they both did the same thing. the first one was unusable after 3 months of use (I was living with friends whilst working away from home) The second one Lasted about 5 months before being thrown out.... I only put it lasting longer due to using a high quality 4" thick memory foam topper. Didnt stop it deflating but it at least meant I could stay comfortable until morning... then reinflate before bed each night. Not the worst invention in the world ..... The square wheel takes that spot .... but its a close second.
It would be cheaper and just as space saving to buy a foldable bed frame, cheap air mattress, electric air pump, and a mattress topper. Like under $50 dollars cheaper. I see absolutely no reason to spend an extra $250-$300 more for a quirky unfoldable air mattress. Thanks for your reviews, as always!
A regular inflatable mattress + a cheap electric air pump would be so MUCH cheaper and easier to store. It's not so fancy, but it works well as a temporary extra sleeping place for someone staying overnight. For this price tag, it's almost possible to find an armchair\ small sofa, which unfolds into a sleeping place too.
I stayed at my wife's aunts and uncles home and they had this thing. It must have had a mattress pad on it because I slept well, but I also sleep well on a sofa, cot, etc., so maybe its just me...When one sleeps like a log, little bothers the sleeper! HA HA
Well that’s sad. I had such high expectations from the moment I saw how it was packaged. The manner by which it was inflated and unfolded into a bed was a bit like magic. By the end of the day, this bed, with its sinking sides, being able to feel all of the mattress divets, and the feet of the frame not all sitting evenly on the floor, at once, took it from a promising 9, to a 4-5 for me. This was a pricey venture.
I bought one years ago for my first apartment. I liked it but ended up sending it to my friend across the country when they had a bedbug infestation. The only thing i didn't like is that it would draw out body heat faster than i could produce it so i had some fuzzy blankets over the sheets to prevent that
Seems like a product that could be refined further, rather than an entire flop. Should definitely have been a prototype. The house I grew up in had an upstairs office with a fake cabinet that stored a queen sized bed that folds down, and the practicality of it for having guests over was amazing. I’ve actually taken it forgranted just how amazing it is to have an option for a stowaway-type bed. If they can somehow refine the mattress and the legs, it might be an amazing product. I hope they don’t get discouraged by the criticisms, because in this case, I truly do think that is just criticism, and something that can be worked on. Great review as always, and thanks once again for prioritizing thoroughness over your health/sanity/comfort. Hahaha
I've yet to find a truly comfortable air mattress that didn't have to mitigate itself by adding a plethora of extras. I have two high-quality papasan cushions that I kept after their rattan chairs fell apart; stacked, they make a comfy bed for company.
Literally my first thought was, "But wouldn't the frame just dig into your back through the air mattress?" And yes, that's exactly what happened. I think the matress topper was doing all the heavy lifting in test number 2 too; at this point, just get that and put it on your couch or camping bed if you have one.
I go camping 10-15 times a year and over the past 20 years I've learned that air mattresses are good for 2-3 years tops, no matter how expensive they are. Nobody should be spending $350 on any air mattress-based system, unless you can affordably replace just the mattress every so often. I switched to buying a twin and spending no more than $20. Don't buy an inflator you have to throw away when it's working. Always buy the inflator separately. Inflators last 10 years unless you get them wet.
My grandama always sasid you don't want the guest bed to be super comfortable. You only have people over that you like, and you don't want to set them up so they overstay there welcome.
With how much you have to struggle to put it away, it's about the same amount of effort to put up/take down a regular air mattress. And I don't know if I could deal with the legs clunking down on the floor as I rolled over. I'll stick with the air mattresses I have.
Reminds me of so many of those old sofa-beds that were pretty much unusable so pulled the 'mattress' out and slept on the floor. Rather expensive gimmick.

If you put a top-loading washer where the hamper goes and left the lid open you would have a self-loading washer. However, that would mean you would have to wash your colors with your whites. (Although you could have two chutes and two washers.)
@@LincolnRonmy clothes are about as fashionable as a rock so I wash everything together. I never fold or separate anything and it all goes in 50 gallon brute trash can I use as a hamper😅 since a hamper of that size was like$200. When it comes to house chores. Easier the better. Also my washer is upstairs and side loading. I would love a washer dryer combo so no more switching.
Appreciate your dedication!
You tell these phony TikTokers, this is the real review channel.
I actually used this same air bed myself for over a month after moving. I only just deflated it to put it away today. I used gravity to my advantage and had no problems getting it back into the case. Instead of pushing the bars together horizontally, tip the bed up on its end so they are stacked vertically so they compress more completely.
I've gone through a lot of air mattresses before, and they always spring a leak at some point. This one doesn't look very robust either...
Great review, thanks James!❤
Thanks for the review. When that bed first came out, I was tempted to get one.
Now, we rent rollaway beds when needed.
There's nothing to store when the guests go home!
Excellent idea!😊

Thank you for the kind reply🌞!
I love ur unbiased reviews! You tell it how it is
definitely not a knock on you James, 100% the product, but if you have to go out and buy a $70 mattress topper to make sleeping on it tolerable...
"At four hundred dollars it costs nearly as much as a cheap bed!" Me, looking at my $200 mattress, bed, and box combo: ( ._.)
Hahah that face is so cute ( ._.)
What do you have and where did you get it? I need something better than an air mattress.🛏
@@PickleJuice604 Emojis are a passing fad, after civilization falls emoticons will once again reign supreme!!
It's still a giant balloon that will eventually spring a leak.
Id still go with an air bed that folds the size of a handbag. It seems like the size of that thing is going to cost me extra on my airfare tickets.
This is the bed that scam me out of my money! Paid on-line. Bed NEVER showed!!!!!
This was a pricey venture.
looks like a torture device in the thumbnail
No idea why I'm watching this as I sleep on a sofa lmao
Thanks James!
"Smooth as silk!" LMAO
Hahaha
I bought one of these for $75 at a Sierra store and love it, only used it once. What's good about it is it inflates and deflates automatically.
I've yet to find a truly comfortable air mattress that didn't have to mitigate itself by adding a plethora of extras. I have two high-quality papasan cushions that I kept after their rattan chairs fell apart; stacked, they make a comfy bed for company.
I see you're floating moon in the background I bought my daughter one this Christmas she loved it!
Perfect mattress for when the inlaws come over.
Literally my first thought was, "But wouldn't the frame just dig into your back through the air mattress?" And yes, that's exactly what happened.
I think the matress topper was doing all the heavy lifting in test number 2 too; at this point, just get that and put it on your couch or camping bed if you have one.
Al tough the mattress pad makes it more comfortable, it defeats the compact storage solution.
I'm sticking with the regular air matress. It does the job. though I like the idea of a zipbag to store it away.
The entire neighborhood will know when you have "fun" on this bed.
Oh F no, just watch it in reverse. That thing is AI that wants to eat me. LOL
You can save it for company that has a history of staying too long.
My grandama always sasid you don't want the guest bed to be super comfortable. You only have people over that you like, and you don't want to set them up so they overstay there welcome.
Aerobeds are very good. I've slept in one of those. The mattress was much thicker than that contraption you bought.
This bed reminded me of the old timey cots you stored in a side table. Probably less comfortable than the cot, though.
At the end of the review, when you said all that was left was to put it away, I fully expected to see a shot of you throwing it in a dumpster.
Hello, i currently do not own ANY air fryer of any kind or any other ninja gadget. I just found your channel as i had seen someone who had just purchased a ninja creami and i wanted to know what it was like. So now, i am going to go through your videos to see what you think of any of the gadgets or appliances or other things that i am thinking of buying! Thank you for all your work you do in giving us reviews before investing in a product. Happy New Year!
One of them liked the fact that it curved in bringing the closer together... i wonder which on it was lol
Nice always been curious about that mattress. There's an suv specific air mattress that could be fun to review.
We put an egg crate pad on ours and it was every bit as comfortable as our $2K seely mattress.
Thanks for the video. I was curious about this bed. By the way, where did you get that cool illuminated rotating globe on the table?
All I got from this review is... buy the Purple mattress.💜😄
I love my Purple 4 hybrid.
I have never met an air matress I liked. I find sleeping on a few blankets more comfortable.
All air mattresses are made of some kind of plastic. I slept a while on one after buying a new house before deciding what kind of new bed and mattress to get.
Here in Texas coastline city we are most of the time hot and humid. Even with the a/c on, these air mattresses feel hot and sweaty. They are good only to have any visitors to shorten their stay. 😂
So instead of getting a small box for an inflatable queen, you make it huge with a massive frame for a small inflatable queen making it tougher to move. Thanks for the review.
This is the bed u want when u want the room mates to know your getting it in
