- I’m having a blast with my low tech approach to these backing tracks. It’s an amazing practice tool for so many reasons.

Guthrie Trapp
Jesus!! first 5 minutes (and all of it actually) are pure gold. Are blues licks, phrases, melodies, ... all of them just there.
100%!!
The sweetest blues playing, aged like a fine wine with a healthy sprinkling of tasty jazz and country added. What an inspiration Guthrie is
OMG and GT is my guitar teacher! I'm the luckiest man in the world 🌎😀 This may be the happiest slow blues I've heard. Thanks GT.
I always listen to Guthrie play with great pleasure, great talent in his fingers and head, greetings from Poland👍
Totally agree
Jego frazowanie❤❤❤ mózg paruje, a serce chce wyskoczyć z klatki piersiowej
“The Apple Pickers” - I spit my coffee out- thanks for the early morning comedy, GT
Damn GT...what a clinic! Double stops, crazy bends, octaves, appegios, diminished runs, jazzy turnarounds...you name it. This is an absolute buffet of licks and riffs. Ill be eating on this one for a long time. Thanks for this amazing lesson Maestro....!
Hey Guthrie, you're a great teacher! I learned 2 very useful licks, the difference between a major 7th and a dominant 7th, and an easy walk from the A shape to the G shape. TODAY! I LEARNED ALL THIS GREAT SHIT TODAY! THANK YOU!
Like breathing thru your fingers. ~
Smoove blues, so awesome!
never heard a bad note , smooth. Real nice
I hate to say “the best” so I’ll say no one better then GT!
This would make a great subject/theme for an Underdog show.
Slow er down GT. How much coffee did you have this morning? Okay, now your are in the slow groove.
Yes!!!!! thank you sir
Nothing can touch a person’s soul musically like slow blues. Thanks Guthrie. 👏👍🎸🙏😎✌️
Well said
@@indifferentuniverse3991 Thank You.
The Strat is back. Man, the tone on that thing is out of this world.
Guthrie be smokin’ that Stratocaster.🤘🏻
The guitar and you are just ONE living organism man! Love it!!!
I am so glad you slowed this one down. It was hard to choose good notes with the tempo of the last one. Cheers, Mr. Trapp.
rock on Guthrie ❤❤❤❤
Dearest Guthrie, as always, great to hear you my brother! At timeline 16’47” is where I come alive! The mixolydian or “dominant 7th”, (friends, don’t get hung up on semantics. Leave that for the classical musicians! Sorry guys!) When you get loose and start connecting chords, arpeggiating, hitting color tones, it’s just damn beautiful! BTW, I’m still hoping that one day you’ll explain that one minute improv in C# minor using your 1969 ES-335! I just hope it’s before I’m dead😅. Be well, my brother, here in Greece, I had a bad summer with fires, and lots of people in the ER where I work as a nurse. Still, every now and again, you’ll post something challenging that will make it all worth it! Peace +friendship!
Oops you answered my question at the end . Great expression and feel!
Great stuff! Off to the basement…work to be done! Lots of tasty bits to dig into. Many thanks from NJ-
This is astonishing. One of the best blues performances ive seen. EVER
That solo was utterly insane! (in a good way :) )
Well, now you're just showing off.
Seriously, you're the most inspirational and accessible player going.
Guthrie you saved my evening with soulfull Bluesvibes. I cant't get to the wedding to one of my best friends to play music there beacause of sickness. Greetings from south Germany ;)
More blues please!!!
😎👍🎸
Have said it before and will say it again.. smiling and cryin at the same time... absolutly amazing playing and fantastic tone Guthrie..👍👍
Love this! Like hanging out with your best bud who's an amazing guitar player who's happy to show you all his secrets, and having conversations along the way just makes it more laid back and it's this approach I feel that allows me to absorb the information even faster. You're the best my friend! ❤
Dude I’ve watched a lot of your videos and love your playing and teaching but I’ve never heard you play any blues. Man I freakin love the blues and that was some of the best blues soloing that I’ve ever heard!!!
Absolute mastery. Oh man, this a crazy good.
Fantastic. As a Homeskooler and NEO guy like that other great Nashville guitar hero of mine, Tom Bukovac, I'm so very grateful to him for introducing your genius to me. Great content on this channel, and as I have often messaged to Uncle Larry for his channel, keep it coming.
Man you very cool, respect from Russia
Guthrie puts the feel into whatever he plays. Brilliant. Thanks.
Absolutely amazing!!!!
Great stuff, thanks Guthrie!
Wow .. a lot of great stuff here GT .. thanks!
You have such a command of the instrument. It's mind-boggling how many hours it must have taken to get where you're at. WOW!
Thanks a bunch. 35 years.
That was super good!
Not bad! You should have said at the end: I can play this all day long.)
Not that I don't want to learn but I tune in just to watch. Amazing!!
Love dat Blues !
Love this stuff Guthrie!!
Nice stuff.
Thank you Guthrie!
Fantastic post, lots to unpack there! ❤
This was approachable for me. Thank you.
Love it! Can't wait to get to Tennessee and be a part of this great music! Thanks Mate.
Crazy fun as the opening is, favorite part of this installment probably has to be the bit toward the end where GT wants to sell you, but kind of winds up selling himself instead, his own very fine instrument.
yeah! the blues in GT
Smokin!! 🔥🔥
More Blues playing please Guthrie you are a master , unbelievable how good you are!
Man, great licks, great phrasing and tone, a real pleasure to listen to!
Man, another great lesson Guthrie! Thanks for the inspiration and reminder to leave plenty of space!🎸
Holy sh*t Guthrie. I dont if I should practice my guitar more or just burn it. That was sofa king awesome!!
Holy sh*t! Dude, you are relentlessly melodic!
Fantastic. I loved this.
Awesome video, thanks so much, I enjoy your insights and stories
Geez please don’t sell that guitar… just keep playing it. That was just amazing!! I wish I could play like that.
Gt bringing the heat, whipping up a batch of that sweet Alabama white sauce , yeah boy ✌🏻🎸🎶
Wow!
You came out of the box swinging tonight! It’s always a great treat to hear play! You gotta suffer if you want to play the blues!
With feeling! Thank you for breaking it down too. No charge for mistakes? Great STUFF GT!
Very very slick! I heard an awful lot of T-Bone Walker in there as well Thanks as always man! 🙏👏
Amazing Lesson!!!!! Probably best lesson on youtube. Blown away!
Shockin
Thanks for sharing your talents and insight. Much appreciated. Bad storms rolling through the Shoals this evenin ' too.
Oh damn thats hot!
Awesome playing dude!
Have mercy
Brilliant and soulful. I’m digging your lessons on TrueFire. Just downloaded them a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for the inspiration.
I couldn't even express how much I loved that effing sweeeeeeet
Excelent, mi-a placut foarte mult . Felicitari ! Imi place stilul tau de a canta si de a explica . Esti un adevarat profesor .
Oh boy … that’s some slick blues Guthrie …. Magic …. 😮 thanks for all your posts .. totally inspiring… ❤️ from across the pond
First, Guthrie, that very first stanza is one of the most tasteful things I've heard in forever. Oh, man. Great notes. Great phrasing. Great use of space. Second, if anybody is looking for great blues backing tracks, I use (and highly recommend) the ones made by Quist. He'll usually play along with the first stanza to offer some inspiration, and then turn it over to you to play along for a while. ua-cam.com/users/QuistTV. Good stuff. Thanks.
This is an incredible video lesson! Thanks so much Guthrie!
I love the backing track jams!!!! Don’t underestimate the power of a good 7-8 minute jam. I could watch those with no dialogue content all day!
Dang, Guthrie, every time you put out a video I put it on watch later sp I can suck all the marrow out of 'em. There's ebough in this one to keep me busy for a long while. Thanks for being incredibly clear with your ideas, changed my game a percentge point or two. Many thanks
Slow blues quickly turned into some sweet ass GT blues 🔥
One of the handfull players I pay attention to... Thanks GT!
ENJOYMENT!!!ABSOLUTELY THE FINEST!! THANKS GUTHRIE!!
Guthrie... the music just flows out through your style. Truly impressive and beautiful at once! You are truly inspiring, but alas way beyond my abilities! Definitely going to listen to your recordings now...! :)
Lots of soul with a sprinkling of some funk. Thanks Guthrie. Making it cry.
Man, I just really enjoy your video's and this one was really great. In my opinion one of the big things that makes guitar player great, is if they can play all kinds of different style's and you amaze me in that category! You are so right about tempo and feeling. You did such a great job in this video to get that laid back blue's feel. I really struggle with that and getting myself to slow down. CSN used to say that they literally used to have to wait till 3 or 4 in the morning to record some of Neil Young s stuff in order to get that laid back sound of his right. Kind of funny, I was going to e-mail you to ask you how much for the Strat until you said it was a 1966-then I knew I was probably looking at having to mortgage my house-haha :-)
You always have been one of my favorite teachers! This video was amazing, Thank you so much!
I’m going to put this on loop play
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing this! Congratulations from Brazil!
yeah baby , luv it man, deep, way down .....
yea main!
Guthrie, i received a response to my comment, and it said I won a guitar? I tried the email contact address you sent, but it didn't work... anyway, if I won something terrific! But I still win because you're adding a lot of value to UA-cam.
Beautiful G.T. Awesome I love it. Very talented man. You make it look so easy. 🎸🎸
All I can say is keep on playin: that’s awesome- every little nuance is fabulous!
Man, it s so good to listen to you rmusic. Your intro solo is a piece of learning. Thanks for everything Guthrie , all the best from Toulouse, France.
Cant wait to watch this.. so I can Pirate everything I can from it :) I know its gonna be good
Inspired!
Man, this is such a great lesson! I learned dominant 7 arpeggios a while ago and I always struggled with placing them and mixing them well with pentatonic licks in a major blues. GT’s phrasing and placement is exactly what I needed to hear! This guy is a gift to all guitarists!!
Good stuff.
thanks for the beautiful playing. some people in comments are referencing backing tracks. can you share a link where i'd find that? thank you.
you sound like Ronnie Earl ..soo good thx u
Thanks, man! I LOVE Ronnie Earl 👍😎🎶
I always enjoy your videos and I am in awe of your skills but the "Slow Blues In B" just blew me away! I'll be returning to that many more times! Youda man, Guthrie!
Good lord Guthrie. That opening salvo blew me away brother. Thank you.
Fantastic!
