Row 8 you show on the video 2 double crochets in each chain one space. But then at the end of row 8 it shows you did 2DC ch1 2DC cluster in chain one space. Very Confused. If you can show the work it would help.
I’m sorry for the confusion. It looks like that because I lost the footage😅 So I reused another part. So that’s why it looks off on that Previous row. What I’m saying is correct, but the image is off. I hope you don’t mind if I pinned your comment so other people can see also. Also, here is the link for the free written pattern That includes pictures littlejohnsyarn.com/pattern-for-crochet-beret/
This is _SUPER CUTE!!!_ I saved this to my head & hand accessories playlist before I clicked to watch. I see mine in blush pink, and another in moss green, two of my favorite colors to wear; heck, I might do an accent stripe or two of the pink in the green one, and of green in the pink one. Tysm for sharing! 💖
Beautiful. Your directions were very precise. I made this hat in 3 hours, while stopping on & off along the way. I did mine using black yarn. It turned out great. Thanks so much ❤❤❤❤
I am so excited that I found this tutorial! I have wanted to make myself a beret forever. I am trying this today and binging on your other videos! I think I need a wider brim for my big forehead but adjusting it hopefully will not be hard in adding more rows. I love this color for fall. If I succeed I am making one in each of my favorite colors! Excellent tutorial to follow along! coffee and crochet during a winter storm is perfect❤
@@LittlejohnsYarn yea. Too ambitous. Lol. I started doing easier stuff after that for awhile. But honestly picked up crochet like i was a natural. 😁 Thank you for sharing this super easy one with us.
This was a fantastic instructional . Easy to follow. And it worked up rather quickly. I love how the sc2tog leaves that nice design around the beret. I made this for my Aunt, she is going to LOVE it!! Thank you again.
So glad i found your channel. My friend wanted a beret and we bought Heartland yarn, which i love. Tried a different pattern and the gauge wasn't right. This is perfect. TYVM, now I'm a subscriber ❤
I've made two of these in a few days time. Great tutorial but my rounds always end up off by a few. I even use stich markers to try to keep track! But it is getting g closer to where it should be. I'll just keep trying. BTW, you don't mention row 9, but in the written instructions it says to repeat 6 for row 9.
Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern! Just wanted to point out that the written pattern for Round 7 says "Repeat Round 6" and not Round 4 as you show in the video. Do check.
I think there is an error in the written pattern, it says on row 7 (and future rows) to repeat row 6, but in the video it says to repeat row 4. From the picture i think it should be row 4, as row 6 only has clusters of 2 DC not 3. Hope this makes sense!
Row number 7 states to repeat row 6 on the written pattern. In the video we are to repeat row 4. Also it states to repeat the row 6 again for row 9, but the pic shows row 4 and yet the start of row 10 shows it as if I ended like row 6.
So sorry. Yes my tester caught that one on the written pattern. The amount of slip stitches to start is different but the stitches are the same. For the other row. I pinned a comment. Another viewer caught it. I had lost the footage (hat was completed) & reused another. The stitches pattern is correct for that row.
I’m so sorry the hat didn’t fit your tension must be a tighter than mine. Did you check the gauge first to ensure you’re using the right crochet hook for your tension?

I got stuck there too even though I was using the written as reference. Must've been the 🍷wine.😂
Ok I thought I was going crazy 😂
it Came out beautifully.
😂😂😂I go back twice and I said myself let read the comments 😂😂😂 ❤
So happy to see a beret tutorial. Everyone does beanies; a few do slouched hats; but no one does berets. Can't wait to start 😊
At last, my new hat. 🎉🎉. I crocheted my first hat from you years ago, and I am hooked on hats😂😂. Love this💜💜💜
It’s been a long time 😂
Love how you simplify this beautiful hat.

@@LittlejohnsYarn up till now I’ve only been able to loom knit hats then I came across your tutorial and wow it’s such a blessing to me !

Thank you
I really like the color of the yarn. Nice pattern thank you
You’re welcome 😊
I love it, i am busy trying to make one for me.
Hi, I love your hat, the yarn is beautiful. I will have to try that brand in some of my projects. Thanks for the pattern.😊
Thank you so much for always sharing.
You are so welcome!
Ooh, new beret pattern! Nice! 💖
I would love to try heartland by Lionbrand.
I’ve heard so many good things about it.
It’s next on my list of yarns to try
Super cute design! I look forward to making it!
Thank you! 😊
That looks beautiful on you 😍
Thank you!!
I love it. You look so beautiful in it.
Thank you so much🥰
I love this hat. The brim fits fine, but the bucket of the beret is too small. Where can I add rows to make it larger?
You can add more dc rows before the sc stitches
@@LittlejohnsYarn Hi, do we follow the same pattern as row 10&11 when adding more dc rows or do we put 2 dc in each stitch.
It came out well thank you
I’m glad it turned out great.🥰
Going to make this ❤ Thank you 🙌
You’re welcome 😊
I’m going to have to make this! I need new headwear in the worst kind of way! 💜
Hats make everything better
What size head does it fit? How much yarn should I buy?
Can you use a stacked sc.😊❤
Hi, love this tutorial. What is the weight ration (metres to 100 grams) of the yarn please? I want to buy the right one.
I'm try to make one, will see how it will look🙈 wish me luck 😊
Best of luck!

Can I use an invisible decrease instead of the Sc2together
Yes
Hello my dear friend very Nice vidéo thank you
Thank you 😊
What if you are using #5 weight yarn? My gauge is 3”. Using a 5.5mm hook
can this be adjusted for fingering weight yarn?
It can be adjusted, but you have to know a little Crochet math. It would be a pattern rewrite.
Muy hermosa. Gracias por activar los subtítulos en español. 🫶🏼💝🥰
Que lindo! Amei!
How many DC to start in the ring😊😊
Hello Alysha
Hey Martie!!!!
Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern! Just wanted to point out that the written pattern for Round 7 says "Repeat Round 6" and not Round 4 as you show in the video. Do check.
what to do if I wanna make it bigger? in what sequence should I increase the number of stitches?
I’m so sorry it took so long to get back to this comment. Increase the number of increasing rows then start reducing as normal
I used size 6 hook and aran wool but half way through and mine is looking a lot smaller than yours?
How many balls of yarn?
I used one. About 200 yards
@@LittlejohnsYarn alright thank you 😊

As the video says, R7 should be a repeat of Round 4.👍

i don't know what you mean when you say count "clusters". my count doesn't match yours. It would be easier and more accurate to count stitches.
Nice hat. But finished project was way too small.
I’m so sorry the hat didn’t fit your tension must be a tighter than mine. Did you check the gauge first to ensure you’re using the right crochet hook for your tension?
Well it’s warmed up, it’s 30degrees
Not warm enough, the cold air would go through the holes
