It would be helpful if you explained the workings of the transfer pump. The venturi pump does the actual transfer. The electric pump drives the venturi pump and circulates the fuel through the filter. Bits of crap you find inside the pump are unlikely to block the venturi as the fuel is filtered before reaching it. I had this problem right after the filter was changed. I suspect a bit of crap got in the line when this happened. It came right by itself after a few thousand k. Also I have heard the screen at the base of the pump can get blocked.
Thanks for your time that went into this video. Great story, nice photos as well as video and lots of good information. It just came up on my UA-cam feed. "A" Grade Prado Stripping. Bada-Bing.
I got a HELL A LOT OUT OF THIS. Thank you SO MUCH. Reliability to me is KING. I had no idea about the filler rubber deteriorating as I don’t do Facebook. I’m going to change both the rubber filler AND the transfer pump. I hope the t pump is not too costly. My fingers are crossed.
Hi just replaced the fuel pump Assembly Prado 120 petrol v6 ,long cranking issue resolved.intially i changed fuel pump with better motor.but after changing while assembly the long cranking issue resolved, but old pump has better engine response.
I got a 150 and they changed the filter near the tank, and after service I ran out of fuel, took it back and they pulled the tank off and pulled pump out said pump was working and put back together serveral times and I still run out of fuel
