I played bass and loved Floyd and used to play along with them following our big Roger, AHM was my fave for a while. My singer used to call it Roman Empire music!
Still remember when I heard One of the Days for the first time...I was eight years old. On DVD (early 2000's) bought Pompeii (having other albums as well) and watching Echoes from this is such an epic moment. Next is to buy some Syd Barrett Pink Pink Floyd albums (Set the Controls...also on Pompeii DVD) 👍
Rick Wright always comes off as such a whiner especially when it comes to the Animals album! He goes on to say how he didn't have anything to contribute to the album at the time, never mind that the songs for the album were written way before the album came out, we're talking at least two to three years beforehand! Those songs were supposedly going to end up on wish you were here, but the album would have been way too long and it would have ended up as a double record so they decided to hold them off. So what is Roger Waters supposed to do, sit around and wait until Rick Wright has something to contribute to the record and then release the album? Give me a break! That is not how bands function, there's usually a significant person that writes the bulk of the music or a couple of people that write the bulk of the music, and lyrics it gets recorded and then released. If you can't come up with something in a timely fashion that is not anyone else's fault but your own! Blaming it on Rogers ego is absolute BS!!! He himself States "I had nothing to contribute at that time"! Also, he played on the album. He is all over the album, and his playing is amazing so I don't know what his problem is?!? The musical playing on the album is a complete other half of the royalties so he got paid for playing on this record! So again I don't see what his major malfunction is, issue or problem with this record! As far as I'm concerned it is one of the best, if not the best in their cannon! Peace out.

I think AHM is a wonderful album. To me it’s like a soundtrack to a film that never existed or was banned and only the music survived.
