All the IH guys out there will tell you DO NOT use a hydraulic hose on that. It needs to have some give to it or it can blow the gasket on the head of the injection pump. Just fuel hose with regular screw clamps on it is what it needs. I did the same as you once and had to change the pump on my 966. Have a great day guys. Thanks for the video.
At least you didn't say it before it happened but anything can happen at any time. The good thing is at the next sale you can say with confidence it's got a new hose. Still, something like that really shouldn't be a deal breaker either I don't think.
Maybe a container of Tide detergent would be an incentive just in case the person who was sprayed with diesel fuel would take a second look at the tractor. At least it wasn’t a high pressure hydraulic line that could possibly inject hydraulic fluid under the skin. One never knows what to expect when around any type of equipment.
Hi Dave, Videos, remind of Laurel and Hardy. Always attempting something practical and now the unexpected. Actually, it's your character that we see and what we see is something admirable. Carry on.
Saw a short about case tractors and they had a clip of doc driving one of your cases. Hey hey there's doc. He is famous in the case world. On the fuel spray that would not have stopped me. That looks like a good unit.
It's not new, and when a "rubber" hose decides to fail no one can know. Too bad guy walked away, his loss. I'd just said can you fix it. And do you have a shop shower i can rinse off in while you replace the hose 🤷🏻♂️
I don't think that is a return line since it went to the filter. The fuel generally goes from the tank to a transfer pump which pumps the fuel under pressure through the filters to the injection pump. A return line should have little to no pressure on a typical system.
Call the guy back, apologize for what happened, explain you had no idea that would happen and let him know it’s fixed. Tell him it’s still a good tractor and you think it’d work for him.
Hmmmm, so the tractor is 40 years old at least. And the potential buyer is shocked when something ruptures on it? If it was running fine prior to the return line breaking and it drove okay while I was checking it I would have bought it anyway if I had been thinking of buying it BEFORE the line blew out.
It's a shame you didn't make a sale just because a return line busted. That doesn't mean anything else i wrong with the tractor. As working on old equipment those are expected where items.
Aw it is what it is wasn't to be his tractor or if he was realy wanting to buy it he would that's life you never no what can happened when and time don't worry about if it would of been me I would of try grind you down on price use your bathroom to wash up send you to the store for a pair a shorts and had me a tractor better to happen now on not in field or on road so be happy 😅
Doc is a man of few words😂 all action no talk
The tractor did not want to go home with that man
Mama said there would be days like this.
That tractor must have knew that man and didn't want nothing to do with him
Shit happens.

I guess the tractor really didn't like that guy. So it lifted its leg and whizzed all over him.
Now that's philosophical 👍👍👍
I would have been like... "Just look at that fuel pressure". Never give up.

That's not a return line, it's transfer pressure line to the head of the pump.
My general answer on old stuff like that is "not that I know of " guess I would have said well now I know of something! Unfortunate to say the least.
It's really a transformer lol
Yes shit happens go figure next guy eill be golden cheers 🥂 happy labor day 😊😊

Hello from Tasmania. I bet you were laughing on the inside. I know l would have been. Thanks Kerry.
With used tractors, things are going to happen. I don't think if the guy really wanted that tractor he would have been scared off.
Welcome to snafu. That’s my life story!
shit happens id of still bought it if i was him
Clean old tractor!

As a person that twist wrenches, never, ever ever be using an adjustable wrench, totally amateur.
