To keep guys from running the same lane we employ ghost cars. We program them to run much slower so you need to change lanes to get around them. To keep the ghost cars from switching lanes (b/c they will switch w/o warning and run you off the track) put a piece of electrical tape over the photo-emitter on car and they'll stay in the lane you want them in. If someone runs a ghost car off the track, they are penalized with 3 stop-n-go passes through the pits.
Slot car race.. 7 PM..! What an awesome life.. once again am so sad because I am living far away from your model center.. ohh... Great layout.. what scale is this Treve..? Please..
Was having a full set with me.. but lost it when I shifted home.. only some parts left.. and from your videos am too excited to add a slot car system at home.. but after searching repeatedly couldn't find a good one.. then found one,toy grade.. hope the tracks may be good.. if so,I can alter some diecast models in to slot cars.. and thinking to integrate radio control system to each car, alongwith self power.. you have a great collection..!
What would happen if you run the copper wire from the top of the first track to the bottom of second and bottom of the first track to the top of the second? Also, if using just two lanes, do you know how to have one lane going in one direction and the other lane going in the opposite direction?
If you cross wire it, then you would short circuit the Control unit. As far as I know, the digital cars can only run in one direction. the Carrera Evolution cars can run in opposite directions though.
🤔🤔🤔 well I tried to call your number but it said something about phone restriction and I was wondering is it anyway you could email me the diagrams of how you hooked this up for four lanes or is it possible for me to buy a four-lane section setup already from you?
By the new multi-lane power tracks, (20030370) for starters, and then Right hand straight switches (20030313), Left hand strait switches (20030345), Double Lane Change section (20030347), Left hand inner to outer curve switches (20030362), Left hand outer to inner curve switches (20030363), Right hand inner to outer curve switches (20030364), Right hand outer to inner curve switches (20030365). - Hope this helps.
@@monsterhobbiesonlinestore awesome. Thank you so much. Gonna probably be 2-4 weeks before I get all as some are out of stock. I have 2 sets of the 2/30 high bank curve. Is it normal that some tracks don’t actually click with the connectors for a secure lock. Part of 1 end seems to always pull apart at times .
Thank you for watching. The green mats are scenic grass from Woodlands Scenics. It wasn't really a good choice as the cars pick up all that green grass dust into the wheel bearings and motors.
I had to make a choice between brands. when I was looking into the two systems, Carrera was the only one that had all the track pieces I needed and I could also run 1/24th scale cars on it if I ever needed to. i am sure Scalextric is good track, but it just didn't suit my needs.

Cool idea!
That's a good tip! why didnt I think of that. Obvious isn't always the most obvious lol
Yes, I did like the video. It was very knowledgeable thank you MONSTER HOBBIES.
Glad it was helpful!
When I was a kid, I always wanted the Tyco toys kind. This looks like some next level stuff. Gonna look more into this.
The Tyco cars were 1/64th scale, same as Hotwheels. This is 1/32 scale, same as some Diecast toys and model cars.
The gas station remminded me of the show"corner gas"...thanks for the tip...
No problems!
We all have to race the outside lane. It’s fair, it’s called the twilight zone!
Sounds good.
Great job with the four lanes, can you add another fuel lane for pit stops ?
I probably could, but now Carrera makes the track pieces to fit in the start/finish gate, so there is really no need to try it the way I did anymore.
Thamk you!
You are welcome and good luck!

Your favorite scale...1/32! :D

I'm glad we figured out the phone. It was great talking to you and learning your stories about muscle cars and the good old days!
I liked 4 lane race track, how many cars can you run? Do you have track layout?
Thank you for liking the video. You can only race 6 cars at a time.
I wanna make a 4 lane track. What pieces do I need so the cars can change to all lanes? Thank you in advance.

What Guage wire did u use?
I do believe it's 16 Gauge. - Thick stuff at any rate!
What is the green carpet? You got a link?

Hi there could you do same thing with a analog set.thanks
Yes, you can do something similar with the Evolution sets. Carrera actually makes all the track pieces for that. Just have a look at their web site.
You like Carrera brand better than the older Scalextric brand?
