Hi & thank you for your lovely message 🤠 so happy you enjoyed the vlog & I hope it all goes well with your honeysuckles 👍🏼 have a wonderful day & all the best 🌱 Chip
I am so glad I came across this video today, I have 2 Buxus I want to reshape and your video has helped me so much. Just one question which time of year do you trim and feed them?
Hi Pedro & thank you for lovely message, so glad you enjoyed, I feed my boxwoods in spring with slow release multi purpose feed pellets & I trim any time as long as the weather is not extreme Hot or Cold, so best to trim in modest temperatures 🌳 hope that helps & have a fabulous day 🌱 Chip
Lovely tips Chip. A few questions... 1) Are those two specimens the same type of boxwood? One looks to have smaller leaves. 2) How often do you repot your boxwoods? 3) How often do you fertilize them in pots? I have four in thick ceramic pots and three in ground, they all seems to grow differently. The baby gem seems to grow more slowly. The Baby Jade flushes out quite often. Should I treat them all them same? The Japanese boxwood hasn't done anything since I potted it up early spring. But its alive! I water every night after 8pm because its so hot in Dallas. 102-104 Ferinheit all this week! The ones in pots have more shade than the ones in ground. I have Espoma slow release fertilizer, Plant Tone, Bone meal and potash. What should I use? Thank you!
Hi Maria & thanks for your message & questions 🤠 I think they are the same but I can’t be sure as the one I clipped in the vlog is adopted so it could be different but time will tell .. they can look different because of different clipping routines & ones been in a shady spot & the other has been in full sun to help it recovery from its hard prune it had last autumn.. I only repot when I have a broken pot or a Ill plant .. the potted buxus I only feed with a hand full of multi purpose slow release pellets twice a year .. I hope that answers your questions 🤠👍🏼 happy gardening & have a wonderful day 🌱 Chip
Hi Garden Doodles many thanks 🤠 the hand clipping is ok for a couple .. but on the big jobs I may need to think about getting a electrical device 🤔 to help as the older I get the harder it’s getting lol 😂😁 have a fabulous day & happy gardening 🌱 Chip
Hi & Thanks for your message Christine 🤠 I do totally fill the tall pots with soil when I first plant them up & then every other time I plant them I only remove the first foot of soil feeding & refreshing ✅ I find this helps stop the plants from sinking which is a problem with tall pots 👍🏼 hope that helps & have a fabulous day in the garden 🌱 Chip

Do you totally fill those tall planters with soil? Or do you use something else at the bottom?
