I love how you make it sound like we're collectively growing these orchids. Our spikes! Our flowers! Your work with them is so impressive and it's always absolutely delightful to see what's growing.
Thank you so much for the kind words!! They are “my orchids” technically but you all are the ones the keep my and my channel alive, so to me they are our orchids!! Thank you for being a part of my channel! Lots of good stuff to come in the near future, I hope to see you in the comments again soon! Happy growing!! 😊
As long as the pseudo bulb is plump, let the cheirophorum bloom. It is a very vigorous plant. You can expect two, or more, new growths from the current bulb. New growths start right after blooming.
Great to hear!! Thanks Darrell! I am going to do just that! Seems like a strong little plant. Really looking forward to seeing it grow and thrive!! Thanks again for all the treasures this season. Absolutely loving them all!
Hey there and thanks for watching! I get from various places but Tarzane Group, Andy’s Orchids, In-Situ Orchids, High Desert Orchids, New World Orchids, Orchids by Hausermann, JL Orchids, are a few places you can look! I’d say about half of my collection comes from either Tarzane Group or Andy’s Orchids, though. Would be the best 2 places to start!!
I just realized something when you were talking about growing your leilia. You said it likes bright light and didn’t do well in other media. I wonder if that has to do with the fact that it likes bright light and in situ it would not have conditions that would grow moss. Maybe it likes high ambient moisture but not to be wet. It also looks like you have no vacancy. Your plants look happy and healthy.
Vacancy is a relative term my friend! 😝 always a way…. Just have to get 3D on em! 😜 It’s always interesting to me how different plants react to different stimuli. About 90% of my cattleya types do not tolerate media at their roots but I believe it’s my conditions more than anything for some. My dry out time for zombie moss is tough…. At best. So far the cattleyas seem to like the synth, even though it only dries about a day faster. Eager to see how it all goes long term. The biggest surprise has been the treefern…. Cattleyas really seem to LOVE treefern. That is one I was not expecting! Thanks for watching! Happy growing Brenda!
@@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore yea tree fern is interesting. I’ve found the bigger pieces stay damp longer but they are super airy. When I had cats they loved being mounted more than in pots. I think they like to feel around and explore. But the roots are hard to tame. They get fairly extensive. Haha yes I know all about 3D. We find our ways to tuck orchids in. 🥰
So, historically it’s been Amazon but I recently found a different place I am trying out. Wholesalevirgincorkbark dot com should be a great resource!! Thanks for watching, happy growing! 😊
Ionopsis has a reputation for being both short lived and difficult to grow. It looks to me like either mealybug or scale got down in the leaf joint and, meh, you're probably going to lose that old growth. Hard to say if that will be a spike on the Myrmec. That is where the spike comes out of but what you're seeing is essentially a sheath. A spike may or may not push out of that, but TBH, I would be surprised to see it bloom, they usually need to be a little bit bigger than that.
Great info all around! Ionopsis is a weird thing. I may swap it to treefern and see if it helps. It’s seemed to do wonders for everything it’s touched so far! I have done a check for bugs and a few snails/spider mites is all I found, thankfully. I’ll have to do a full round here soon. Old growth is long gone now…. New one seems to be doing on, thankfully. I may cut the spike snd try to get it to grow a bit stronger, but still undecided. Happy growing, catch ya on the next one! 😝

Thanks as always for watching!! Happy growing! 😊
Hi. I love how you hang the Orchids on the chunks of bark. They look so natural. Do you find them in the forest?
I wish you would come back and do some updates for us. Hope everything is going well for you
My twinkle finally bloomed, all 6 spikes... Same color as yours, named red raspberry. Smells just like it too. 😅
That’s awesome! Mine is just going over…. Hoping the other twinkle types put on a show for us soon! Love these little plants! 😊
Where did you buy your collections? I found a few species that is interesting to me but having trouble with finding where to but it XD

@@orchidelirium9102 agreed….. it’s truly remarkable. Just got a new shipment in!! More mounts to come! 😝
Do you still grow orchids?
Let the oncidium bloom out for a couple days and then cut it. 😁👍
Sounds like a plan!! Darrell said it should be strong enough so that’s exactly what I am going to do!! Thanks for watching! 😊
