    You are so easy to understand. Not a lot of word salad but very thorough in your instructions. I watched several vids about joining binding edges together but no one explained it like you did. I am going to finish my gmother’s quilt and start my first from scratch watching your instructions as soon as my new machine gets here. Thank you for the inspiration. I can see your passion in the quilts you make❤

    This is the best binding tutorial I've seen and I have seen many. I just finished binding a quilt for my grandson using your methods. It was easy and fast. I love your tutorials. A scrappy trip Christmas quilt is next! Thank you

    You’re a great teacher! This is an excellent video! I’ve watched hundreds of videos and this is the best binding video I’ve seen. Everything was clearly described, explained and shown.

    Excellent tutorial. I don't love that you skipped the step of ironing the binding in half as it seems you just end up with one more thing to wrangle while you're sewing the binding on. But regardless, it's always fun to see a familiar thing done a different way, as one never knows what one might learn. Thank you for preparing and sharing such a high quality tutorial, Jessica!

      Thanks! I do my binding like this because I don't like having that hard line pressed into it.

    There is one more important final step before a quilt finished, adding a label. If you haven’t already, would you consider talking about labeling quilts. Congratulations on a really great beginner quilting series!

    Hi Jessica, I recently found your tutorials and really enjoy your techniques. I especially liked your hand binding method. I always hand bind my quilts but I have never used two threads because I thought it would be too thick but I can see by your example that it looks great and I love the way you do your corners and ending. I feel like I do my corners different every time because I find they don’t always come out exact. Anyway, thank you so much for your help. I also like your thoughts on flying geese blocks. I always find them very challenging and I don’t always get a good 1/4” at the bottom edge which makes me crazy. The result is that I “avoid” them 😢 but I love they way they look in a quilt so now I will just forge ahead and be brave and hope that the more I do the better I will get. I also loved your Nona quilt along. Thanks again, Elaine from New Hampshire 😊

    Excellent tutorial on making and attaching binding. I have been sewing for 35+ years, and I’ve made a few quilts for my grandchildren. Recently I inherited two quilt tops that were hand pieced by my great grandmother. I am going to finish them. I’m thankful to have found your tutorials so I can learn more before attempting to finish these precious family heirlooms. I’ll be watching your videos! Thanks so much!

    Thank you for all the quilting know how. I sew the binding onto the front then hand sew to the back. I’ll put my quilts away for the winter then hand bind. That extra warmth feels so good, it gets pretty cold where I live. I don’t enter into competition either.👍👍😊

    Hello Jessica I am a beginner at quilting and I started watching your videos and I love them, but I cannot seem to find the charm pack that you are using to make this beautiful quilt. I want to do it just like you did it because I do not know how to match colors Thank you keep up the good work

    • @jessica_dayon
      @jessica_dayon  11 днів тому

      Thank you! Sadly, you won't be able to find that charm pack anymore. Fabric is released from designers and then it typically runs out as people buy it and it isn't reproduced. But, not to worry, designers are coming out with beautiful fabric all the time. You'll definitely be able to find something you like out there now!

    Great informative video Jessica. You have mentioned in the past that you sew with the pressure foot of your machine at 0 .... is that still the case when your machine binding?

    • @jessica_dayon

      Thank you! Yes, I do turn the presser foot down to 0 even when binding.

    Thank you for such a great tutorial on binding! When I bind, sometimes my binding seems like it is twisting and I can’t figure out why this is happening. Do you have any ideas?

    • @jessica_dayon
      @jessica_dayon  7 місяців тому +1

      I have had that happen a time or two before in one section of my binding. I'm not positive but my guess would be that the piece wasn't straight on grain and when I tried to flip it to stitch it down, it didn't want to lay flat.
