So good to see it run again after all that. I just pop off the flexible seal on those pulley bearings and push some grease in to the ball bearings and press the seal back on. Never had a problem doing that.
Thanks and thank you for watching Vassmotorsports, ive tried that with couple bearings before but I guess they were already to worn and damaged cause just packing in the grease didn't fix all them so as cheap as these are I just keep them on hand at the shop and pop one in , 6203 fit all kinda stuff not just pulleys lol
My blazer did the same thing, the distributor cap and rotor burnt and shorted out, I heard a popping sound coming from the cap while the blazer was idling. As far as timing chain jumping, very rare.
I wasn't sure cause motor has around 350k on it but I might have put a chain on it when i put the motor in 7yrs ago cause it had 300k when I installed and know I did a bunch of gaskets. ,this was my teenage son drove it and must have dogged the hell out of it and lied cause it actually hit a valve on piston and bent it and ive never seen that on any stock 4.3 or SBC ,so I pulled head and put a valve and that was almost 2 yrs ago and been to Florida 700 mile trips one way and just took it to Virginia Beach to get my new to me Victory jackpot 8 hrs each way and she still running strong. , here's that video if like to see ua-cam.com/video/aeNI9ftDUdU/v-deo.htmlsi=0fWqi7dAvVKl9Oxo. Thanks for watching Vassmotorsports and hope ya check out some of my other videos
You can put a new chaiset on with a tensioner, you need to install a different timing cover to accomodate this Do yourself a favor and get melling chain parts
thanks for the feedback, stock chains are fine and turns out it didn't jump at all ,my 17 yr old son drove it like a race truck and i found no compression in one cylinder and bent valve and pushrod, i pulled the head put a used valve i lapped out of one of my boat 350 engines(same valve) and pushrod and rocker and that was 30k ago or more with no issues what so ever , plenty of trips 12 hrs away to Florida and even hauled one of my new bikes home from Virginia Beach, i drive it all the time on the interstate, these chains will go 300k easy so no need to change , thanks for watching Vassmotorsports and hope ya check out some of my other videos sometime, always trying to get my little channel to grow
