- Zeus presents Test Drive (un-emulated) for the Amiga A500. A true classic from the golden era of amiga gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1987
When i first saw this in the shop on the Atari st, i was blown away, don't forget most of us were still heavily using our 8-bit machines, so this was a huge graphical jump and was one of the few reasons for me like others to make the jump to a 16-bit machine.
A year later i sold the st for the cool miggy and this game was even better mainly because of the bassier engine noises.
This really was a big deal back in the day, there was no other driving simu like it, it even had the added touch of seeing cars & vans you've just passed in your rear view mirror.
At high speeds it can get a little tricky trying to steer out the way from oncoming traffic especially if you are trying to overtake someone, so timing is crucial.
5 stages to get through with a certain amount of lives and if you make it you get to keep the car :-)
Classic game and a gem to have in the collection.
I have used a slight cheat in the game, if you keep hold of the fire button without steering, you will automatically turn the corners and stay on the road, HOWEVER, you still have to avoid the other motorists and the cliff walls otherwise you die!, so it's a tricky cheat.
Hope all you Amiga fans enjoy this upload.
Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings by myself taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing.
I will also always state weather i am using any cheats in the game, if not mentioned then i am not using any.

Keeping the memory of the Amiga and it's cool games alive!!!
This is timeless game, pure classic.
Reminds me of how jealous I was ,as a c64 owner, when you buy a game and it showed the graphics of the Amiga on the back...those gauges that actually moved were like hyper real back then
it was golden game of amiga's golden days
Thanks for bringing back the memories! At first, the graphics look a bit of a joke. But, then you look at it more carefully and it brings back the feeling that you’re actually on an adventure in a car! And it wasn’t long before this that I was playing flight simulator on the 1K ZX81👍
First impression: Wow, Test Drive 2 was really ahead of its time in the late 80ies.
Second impression: Oh, it’s even Test Drive 1 !!!
This was a game changer.
I still remember playing this for the first time. The excitement at the terrific presentation - followed by the disappointment at the utter crapness of the in-game graphics and animation.
This was the game I first saw on the ST, was blown away.
I played this game for hours and hours, and I knew every corner and car by heart. I can’t recall my top score now, but it was well over 100k. Not sure if I broke 200k, it’s 30 years since I looked at it...
You remember the trick where if you hold the fire button down round corners at high speeds you will never fall off the edge :-)
@@ZEUSDAZ no, I never knew that! Now you tell me...lol

good ol'times
Visually a step up from the C64 clearly. FPS touch better. Love the game
ua-cam.com/video/mIPJWc59hvU/v-deo.html much better on C64 with super cpu
Back when 10 people could develop a premium game
Yep, the very game that made me jump from 8 to 16-bit computer gaming.
Lol all the video is missing is the disk drive noise. Lucky my nostalgia added it in for me.
Well you can hear it in my "let's play" review video of it :-)

I played it as a kid. Didn't really understand the game. Was maybe 6? Anyway, the nostalgia 😊
The gas station cut scene was always haunting. I think because I played very poorly and it basically said 'you're a bad driver' 🤣
I named my old cat accolade after this game out! Merry Christmas and a happy new year bro :-D
Don Mattrick xbox guy who design this game wow.
Ik heb deze ook nog vroeger gespeeld. Op de Amiga 500.
Great game.
I played this on an Atari ST emulator and despite how poorly I played, a Police Car NEVER passed me and I even went as slow as a snail
lmao the police cars. Even in video games they traumatize you
the st version police must be easy then. the commodore 64 police are more aggressive. i just sudoku myself if i think they’ll catch me. rather would lose a life than get a ticket in this game
Accolade??? Wow, it's an original pet name i gotta give you that lol.
Same back at yer for the festive season!!!
500th upload coming soon, i've chosen summut special for this one.
Why won't you press *D* and leave the gear shifter on screen?
How do you change the gear? Like a real car or with the up command (joystick?) Is it a manual setting?
Up and fire button, down and fire button to go down gears.
@@ZEUSDAZ thank you
Full game
cool game but crazy cars, buggy boy, stunt car racer are all better. guess this one came out a year earlier so i will say it paved the way
This game was the reason I bought an ST, it was a game changer,...a year later I sold it for an Amiga because of Hybris.
i understand why hybris is incredible those upgrades felt so powerful and great intro song
Now we insist on playing 120 fps
