Wow ich liebe das amiga CD 32😮😮😮so ein schönes system danke dafür
I love it too! It’s a fantastic system. Thanks for watching!
Liberation was THE game of the future. Not understanding english back then made it impossible for me to progress in that game. My favorite game on that list is : Deep Core. I still play it in emulation once in a while.
Danke schön dafür mach weiter so
Vielen Dank! Es freut mich, dass es dir gefällt. Ich werde auf jeden Fall weitermachen. Danke fürs Zuschauen!
What I liked about the CD32 was that people with A1200's went out and bought CD drives. It opened access to huge libraries of samples, textures, images and chunks of this new thing called the internet (ok not exactly new but still out of scope for most people) those CD's kept selling even after Commodore and then Escom died.
What people don't realize is virtually all of these games are Amiga 1200 games just ported over in 1993. The console died in less than a year. This had a slightly faster processor than the 3DO and it had 2 MB of RAM which was very good for 93; unfortunately, its one major weakness was that its graphics system wasn't built for 3D. If you look up Amiga titles from the mid-90s they do look far better, but this thing was never going to yield a 3D library. At best, it could handle pseudo-3D like Doom and Wolfenstein.
The Saturn and PS basically blew this thing out of the water.
Some games like Alien Breed 3D couldn’t run on the previous Amiga, but like you said this (much like other very early 32-bit pcs) either lacked the RAM (not in this case) and/or the CPU power of later PCs or the likes of the PS1/Saturn
Hi :) Atr got a sound from Cannon Fodder ;) Love CD32, thx for this movie, greetings :)
From now on, It is called All Terrain Fodder...
I have only ever seen one of these machines in a retro store once. I was around when they were new but I live in the US and they didn't sell here. The only thing I can say was...what was Amiga thinking? You have to look at this console and compare it to other 5th generation hardware. Even against the 32X it left a lot to be desired. Most of its games were very "16-bit" looking/playing and what's with so many titles lacking music? This was a CD based console that had quite a few games without music....strange.
Addendum- Whoa this got a Battletoads port?! Without music? Like I said strange.
You bring up some interesting points! Amiga CD32 had its quirks and limitations, especially when compared to other 5th generation consoles 🙈

Thanks for the reply! I actually don't know what the Amiga 32 could actually do and I definitely am not blaming the console for its content. Personally, I think Amiga was not prepared for how differently the console market was. I believe they got behind the 8-ball and we're doing their best to keep up with the brutal demands the console side of the business requires. They really should have stayed with the microcomputer and continued doing things the Amiga way. They were true masters of the microcomputer. They were so good that for 5 years straight they punched everyone in the mouth. Think about it...
The Amiga spent a good 5 years smacking everyone around with better software, support, games, and business applications for a fraction of the cost. The Nes, Master System, Commodore 64/128, 286, and the mighty 386 machines had nothing on the Amiga (or ST). They went to war with the biggest PC companies in the world and held the line for a fraction of a fraction of the cost. Had they simply built a custom system like they had with the Amiga 500 that included a solid Risc based 32-bit processor and say a 4MB GPU they would likely still be throwing down but they (in my humble opinion) lost their way.
Addendum- Amiga reminds me of Sega in a lot of ways. They became so fixated on what the other guy was doing and forgot to be the company that we loved so very much. Had they just hung on for 3 more years they would have had the market almost entirely to themselves and been the only one's with the ability to stand against the clone computer invasion of 1993-1994. You don't price war with Amiga, they price war with you. :)
The console was Commodore's "Hail Mary" attempt to save itself. It was made when the company was in its worst state, and the failure of the machine was the beginning of the end. It was the last in a long line of poor executive-level decisions.
CD32 was capable of more than it's games showed. 95% of games were simply disk versions slapped on a CD leaving 95% of CD empty. And like you mentioned, many times they didn't even bothered to add CD-Audio.
@@predcon1they should have merged with Atari and fired their expensive managers.
Thanks!
Thank you for your support. I appreciate it! ❤️
48:15 "Body blows: Galactic" I believe, cuz there no title added.
We,love this one on future
22:17 lol - one of the last games for CD32, also arguably the worst and now rarest too. Also one of three true exclusives for the console (the other being Sports Football and Lunar C)
I was confused briefly for not remembering the music or the background sound for the games I already know about, then I realized they are the "enhanced" CD versions with audio tracks.
Exactly! They're enhanced CD versions with audio tracks. Thanks for noticing!
Que buen recopilatorio de una consola casi desconocida. Ahi te sigo y recomiendo. Si queres mira lo que hago. Saludos y exitos!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the collection. It’s always fun to explore lesser-known gems.
What's the title of the game at 1:40 ?
These games couldn't even compete with the Sega Genesis.
Different systems, different strengths! CD32 had its own unique library and features that set it apart, even if it wasn’t as competitive in some areas.
It really was a bunch of 16bit titles with CD soundtracks lol
Exactly! It offered a unique gaming experience with its combination of 16-bit gameplay and CD audio.
This must be the only CD based console with that many shmups without any in game music. The laziness of the developers was just astounding and no wonder the console failed.
Not putting audio on the CD was a huge miss.
Gostei muito bom 👏
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😄
Das ist der Grund dich zu abonnieren...danke dafür bitte viel mehr davon danke aus Deutschland 🇩🇪
Nice video so many memories! What were you playing it on emulation?
I’m sure there where more games.
Ok zähle alle mal auf bitte
no habian juegos 3D? si es de 32 bits como una playstation,.incluso similares de poder
It lacked the power for full 3D games like the PlayStation. Most of its games were 2D or had basic 3D.
You forgot to put the names of a couple. 😂 and did body blows twice.
Thanks for the heads-up! 🙈
I they released a version of mega man 1 to 6 and ghouls'n goblins for amiga 32 cd the console could have been a little sucesful
That would have been amazing! They could have definitely boosted the Amiga CD32's success.
Fazer esses jogos no play ou play 2 e possivel
Unfortunately, these games are specifically for the Amiga CD32 and can’t be played directly on the PS or PS2.
5th generation but they gave us 4th gen and 3rd gen games
True, it does include some games with varying quality. It’s a mix of different generations, which can affect the overall experience.
misadventures of flink looks like rayman, but came first of course, whats wrong myth: history in the making looking like vegeta with the blue hair
Some of these old-school designs really stand out when you look back!
Obviously it had a start with Akira alphabetically, but damn that game is bad. Luckily the list gets a lot better from then on.
This system looks like it's barely 16-Bit.
A megadive have 16mb and same Graphik 🤔
Considering it's capabilities, a lot of shit was released on it... shame.. Had one, and sold it after a year or so...
Amiga CD32 = Amiga 1200. the games are the same.
Yep never found a game that didn't work on my A1200 on CD.
Brian the lion 😕 Dreadful
Brian the Lion might not have been everyone's favorite, but it's all part of the rich tapestry of gaming history! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
wow no wonder it failed horribly
CD 32 was just console version of Amiga 500 and 1200 it wasn’t bad but no way it could compete with Saturn and PSX
@@davidm4677 Hah I never noticed that. Well alright consider when everything was released. 1000 in 1985 and 500 in 1987. The CD 32 was released in Sep 1993. By this time the Sega Megadrive/Genesis had been out since 1989. So it had been out for four years at this point. And this was a big deal because I remember 1993. I finally gave in and got a used Genesis for something like $30 at a pawn shop (or was it Game stop?). It was because of Mortal Kombat was just released and I wanted the Genesis version with the blood to play with friends. And also by this point there were TONS of cheap Genesis games available. I mention this because Genesis was also a 68K console, and there tons of Amiga tittles available on the Genesis. It's always been my contention that the Genesis is really what did in the Amiga platform
@@davidm4677 Yeah if it had come out in 1989 alongside the Sega Genesis, instead of in late 1993, it would be a different story.
@telesniper2 CD32 was more powerful than Genesis. The ami of Amiga was to bring Amiga 500 and 1200 games on to CD format it wasn’t about competing with other consoles CD32 it’s great console but unfortunately it lost interest because of PS ONE and Saturn and we didn’t see more Amiga games being ported as console was discontinued if only people would give it more support and attention it would have the best 2D collection of all time unfortunately most people back then could own one console so something did has to go even Saturn didn’t survive with newer tech.I hope there are some bootleg games for it as I’m gone try to buy CD32.
@@davidm4677ich probiere mit der von blaze entwickelten evercade die spiele wieder ins Leben zu holen von 8 bit , Commodore, amiga ,sega, sowie jetzt playstation und n64 die es schon gibt ....da Lohnt sich ein kauf
A good example on how to waste 32 bit and CD technologies back in the days. Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo pulled better games hmm was it an issue with the dev kit, developers or lack of creativity?
Commodore war am Ende und hat alles probiert um zu überleben und einfach Disketten spiele auf cd gebrannt ohne musik 🎶 😢aber dennoch war es gwil jeder liebt halt was anderes
Lazy ports of the existing Amiga versions mostly, maybe with additional animated/FMV intros and/or additional music if you were lucky, for a higher price than the disk version even with little to nothing added (which also went against the prevailing rhetoric that CD games would be cheaper because they would not be as easy nor as cheap to pirate). There were very, very few CD32-specific games.
Another thing that didn't help Commodore was the arrival of _Doom_ on the PCs in 1993. Whilst the Amiga was good at sprite-based games it was not so good at texture-mapped 3D such as that seen in _Doom_ (at least, not without accelerators and/or graphics cards - which most Amiga owners were unwilling to buy back then). That one game made the PC the go-to games machine; no longer was it just considered the "uncool" grey box that was geared towards office work.
The Amiga did receive what became known as _Doom_ clones in its wake (some of which - _Gloom_ and _Alien Breed 3D,_ for example - turned out to be quite enjoyable to play) and did eventually get a genuine port of _Doom_ in 1999 (although you needed a fairly porky Amiga to be able to cope with it), but sadly by that point it was a classic case of "too little, too late".
Hard to compare, SNES and Genesis were dedicated games machines. CD32 was just an Amiga computer really, it needed new chips if it was to compete. If Commodore had a plan the Amiga could have competed even with playstation
