  • Hello all, This was one of my best afternoon outing this season. After long day of work, I decided to head out after a big rainfall and it sure did pay off. Lots of wild coho got caught and some keepers as well. It never gets old to catch and look at chrome cohos!

    I’m 68 years old, and we, my dad and me, fished every weekend either the vedder or the cahalis rivers,way before hatcheries, and after, I now live in the kootneys, soon before it’s to late! I’m coming back down hopefully next year, and try to relive some amazing days fishing with my dad! ❤️

    Crazy video 🔥 and great handling of the fish!! I’ve seen a lot of videos this season of people handling them incorrectly.

    I almost always use jigs for coho. The produce the best. Versatile and hold fish well on barbless hooks because of the horizontal, upright stance.
    I keep it simple and low cost. I shove a 2.5 inch hootchie on a half ounce jighead.
    Silver and pink is bestbfor me

    Hello, I'm planning to go here again this Saturday, what kind of fishing rod body will I throw, is it a fake or a float team?

    • @Go2fishingbc
      @Go2fishingbc  Рік тому

      I think the vedder will be blown(not fishable) on Saturday. I’d throw something big if you are still coming down

    Why only keep the hatchery ones?
    I'm from Ontario, so I'm not too familiar with hatchery vs wild salmon regulations.

    • @Go2fishingbc
      @Go2fishingbc  Рік тому +1

      The regulations here in bc in my region allows me to only keep hatchery coho. It is to provide angling opportunities and to protect wild fish(coho)

    I fished the Vedder hard 1975 to 1990, the runs were HEAVY and lasted forever.
    What month and time of the month were you fishing here if you don't mind, as I am thinking of coming down from the Interior and visiting the Vedder this year.
    TIA

      Hi! Wow I bet those times were a lot better on the vedder. This is mid October. Mid October is probably peak for cohos. End of Sep would be great for chinooks

    Any chance you would provide your location on the river?
    Will there still be fish if I go this week? Or where to go best...
    Please let me know! Beginner here!

    • @Go2fishingbc
      @Go2fishingbc  Рік тому

      There will be fish this week. Less fish but less people. I’d try lower and work your way up :)

    • @Go2fishingbc

      Best time would be first light and last light. The vedder is not fishable right now. Choco water

    Why expose these kind of rivers to the public? No hate or anything but I’ll never share river names in the public because of the amount of people that end up trashing the spots

    • @Go2fishingbc

      Vedder river is the most pressured river in BC. Its no secret river
