3/7 Cantinflas Centennial / Centenario - Teatro Million Dollar / Theater

On August 12th, 2011, in commemoration of Mexican film comedian and international icon, Mario "Moreno" Cantinflas, a special tribute was held at Los Angeles' historic Million Dollar Theater in Broadway.
(1/7) Following a digital image presentation, Councilman Jose Huizar addressed the crowd and presents certificates of appreciation.
(2-4/7) Head of Metropolitan Theater Corporation Bruce Corwin, who owned the Million Dollar Theater and became a personal friend of Mario Moreno delivers a moving presentation.
(5-6/7) A comedic routine by Mario Ramirez "El Comodin", one of Mexico's outstanding performers, who impersonates Cantinflas.
(7/) A projection of the classic film, El Circo (1943) followed, in 35mm with english-supertitles. Finally, during the after event reception Cantinflas (Mario Ramirez), blows the candles to a birthday cake, courtesy of Gourmet LA Bakery.
