Current draws can be a real pain... we had one (a couple years ago) with similar radio and similar problem.... was a white Jetta though. =)

@@CoolAirVw I found a capacitor that was leaking in my monsoon amplifier. The amplifier is connected strait to the battery A+12v positive. and ground the key switch B+ and fuses aren't connected to the amp. 3 days and dead battery. The amp gets power from one of the big fuses on the battery box. The radio gets voltage from the amplifier in the trunk and the capacitors are parallel to the battery voltage. It seems like I got the idea to put a 12v relay from the key b+ at the fuse box to the switch on battery voltage and amp from someone on youtube but I can't find the link. Who showed us this monsoon amp problem and how to hook up a relay? I thought it was Thomas EXOVCDS. I watch his videos all the time but I can't find the monsoon amp relay video. this is a common battery drain and also installing the aftermarket radios like you are diagnosIng.

I have the same problem my daughter left the headlights on an the battery was dead I bought another battery two days later it was dead. I was wondering could it be that the headlight wires burn into or something touching an making it go dead?

Those current draws can a real problem to find, had one in my Volvo wagon and it was the glove box bulb not shutting off.

part of my process is to always check the trunk light and glovebox light. I think I showed that in my other "draw" video.

i have a 2013 vw cc. one afternoon before work i had to jump my car to get to work, i figured my battery was bad, bought a new one. next day same thing battery was dead, got a jump and went to work. went to oriely's to have them check the battery and alternator theyre tester said i needed a new alternator so i got that changed. still battery dead. the only thing that keeps me from having to get a jump to start my car is if i dont lock the door because there is a red light that flashes while the car is locked. if you have any ideas what the problem is please let me know, could that be a fuse or bad wire?

drain problems are some of the hardest problems to diagnose as it could literally be anything on the car. Seek someone good to do a diagnostic process like what was in this video or the other one that I did which I believe is linked in the cards.

One thing I’m going to do is amp clamp through 10 turns of jumper wire on the positive since that will enhance the accuracy of my measurements.

Did you fix it? I am having a parasitic problem on a 2004 VW sports wagon TDI. I think there is a short in flasher warning and turn signals as they went out for a few days and I had no problem. Then they started working again and not my battery is going dead. Is this possible?

my problem was both the radio and amplifier under drivers seat unplugged radio still had drain pulled 40amp fuse under hood for amplifier had a 1.5mamp draw fixed the problem or you could unhook the amp under drivers side set

I have a 2009 cc (same car) with the same issue. The mechanic however couldn’t locate the source. He attempted changing the pesky door modules, changed the battery, confirmed the alternator was good. He’s giving up and asked me to pick up the vehicle.
NOTE: their is another fuse box left of the steering wheel.
I wonder now if it’s the radio, seems to be a common issue. I also just learned that prior to the battery draining/dying, the horn stopped working. Any advice is welcome.
