The Brazilian Portuguese inherited some words of Tupi origin.

Hey Lindsay! I am Davika. I can not tell you in words just how fun and exciting it is that someone took an interest in my people, my homeland and even the languages! That is so cool! You have encouraged me to countinue my journey to my roots in Paraguay and to fully understand where I come from. I am excited to be learning Guarani now too! I am excited because I have already studied Spanish and now learning my heritage language of my people (of both Spanish and Guarani) will start to make me feel whole as a someone from Paraguay. Thanks so much for these wonderful videos and for connecting with my homeland of my beautiful Paraguay! The best of luck to you and your husband! Blessings!

In my state, Maranhão, we still use the word "beiju" from the Tupi-Guarani family. The restof the country uses tapioca.

The Tupi culture has a great influence on Brazilian culture nowadays, as words inherited from its language, food and customs.

Now, I don't know if this is in any way helpful or so, but I was reading your past "language learning goals", for August 2018, and you said "Listening - This has always been the trickiest bit for me with Guarani because finding audio is so difficult." - I'm sure you know this, but there is Guarani radio being streamed, several different radio channels from different countries. Now, I have no idea of what kind of programs they broadcast or if any of that is of any use, but it might be.

My father is Brazilian native, which they call "indigenas" and I always had a little curiosity about the language, I'm not sure if it is Guarani or Tupi though... Anyways, he also speaks Portuguese fluently and me too, so that's cool already lol

To wYou say you want a revolution
    Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
    Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you got a real solution
    Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
    Well, you know
    We're doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you'll change the constitution
    Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
    Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
    All right, all right

@@LindsayDowLanguages I had downloaded the Android version out of curiosity. There was a huge bug that wouldn’t let me continue the course. I tried everything to contact them with no avail and when I saw that their social media accounts were last updated too early, I gave up.
