I started learning Swedish as a joke 😂 (because I wanted to move to Scandinavia to take advantage of their education system) but fell in love with the grammar and musicality of the language and decided to keep learning it! I'm also learning Danish and plan to learn the Norwegian. The holy trinity 😇
Jag har lärt mig svenska för fem år sen och jag är helt besatt av det fortfarande. Språket är mitt liv, min bästa vän. Jag lär min dotter nu, hon är sju månader gammal och hon älskar svenska också!
I'm currently learning Swedish on my own (I study translation and interpreting) and it's so easy and cute and fun!! I struggle a bit with vocabulary, words are so different and unique, but it's worth it!
matiib I learned Swedish by myself and now I can speak fluent, I recommend you to watch videos on UA-cam, Watch movies in Swedish, put your cellphone in Swedish, have a Swedish Notebook and write on it things that you learned, vocabulary and DON’T study so much the grammar. Like the little kids, they start learning the language without the grammar, only with words.
I had started leaening it but I lost my motivation 4/5 months in because I couldn t really see the results. This video reminded me many things about swedish and i might pick it up again 😊 One of my favorite swedish songs is Snälla bli min igen if you re looking for swedish songs 😄
Hej! I love Swedish and Nordic languages in general. Right now I am revising my Danish and have just started Swedish (and some Icelandic at the same time). Having learned "hot potato" Danish makes it wayyyy easier for me now to learn Swedish. I think I can save a couple of months because of that! I love Swedish because it is a beautiful melodic language and my friends enjoy listening to me trying to talk in Swedish! Hej da!
Okay so I'm a 16 yr old turkish boy at the moment. I know english "enough" I can say XD. At least I can learn other languages with it. We're in quarantine at the moment and I have 3 goals right now. 1-Find proper ways to learn swedish. 2-Find good artists as well as garmarna because this band is the reason why I fell in love with this language. 3-Learn it and then conquer all the scandinavian languages ! and a bonus 4- Like this video for opening my eyes...
Finances in my family are about to get blown away, and my buddy who lives in Sweden for years suggested me to move and work there, so here I go, planning my next months to be financially ready and I just started looking up if I can learn the basics of the language. Wish me luck!
I am learning Swedish on Duolingo and I am enjoying it so much it's better than playing Bubblewitch or Candy Crush! I've been several times quite a long time ago and I always wanted to learn the language. I'm doing really well but could do with some Swedish Conversation.
I started learning a bit of Swedish before visiting family in Sweden. It was fun but I didn't used much of it once I arrived in Stockholm. I used simple words like Hej, take and all that and I could understand the really short phrases (or at least infer what they might be saying). The language is indeed beautiful to listen to).
Great video! Ive never actually considered learning swedish but I’m getting more and more intrigued by scandavian culture by the day, I may learn it in the future! Few ideas:9 reasons to learn mandarin, korean, thai, swahili, russian, norwegian :)
I’m in my third year of learning Swedish, while I haven’t dedicated that much time to it because of school (hence I’m not the most fluent in it) but since that is now done for me I’ve picked up the pace with it. I love the language so much and I’ve actually started having dreams where I’m conversing in understandable Swedish lol. Jag älskar studerar Svenska så mycket har till många mer dagar av Svenska!
In a few years I want to study Translation and Interpreting, so for the moment, I’m studying languages by my own. Swedish is one of the most beautiful languages I’ve ever learned and I want to keep learning it until I become fluent.

Just wanted to add that the sing-song quality has a lot to do with our tendency to change the tone to put emphasis on certain parts of sentences to change the meaning. English does this as well (Is THAT your book? vs Is that YOUR book?), but Swedish does it even more. As a Swedish person, I find speaking monotonously one of the harder aspects of some languages, haha.
If you understnding Norwegian as the first Nordick language you can easely understand Swedish and Danish.we in Sweden can understand Norwegian and Dannish. But with Danish it takes time to understand. But to read a Danish and Norwegian paper is not difficult. If you're mother tunge is Swedish.
The furniture names in ikea is often names of places and stuff like that, so learning swedish and not knowing the geography of sweden may not help with the ikea names
9 reasons to learn Swedish by a Swedish native speaker. 1. Swedish can be used in Norway, Finland, Denmark, Faroese and Island and also in Greenland. They learn Danish in Faroese, Island and Faroese. Fun fact, Islandic Danish is far more easier to understand because it sounds like Swedish. 2. Business 3. Music 4. Danish can only be used in Island, Danmark, Faroese and Greenland. 5. Norwegian and Danish cannot be used in Finland. Even if Norwegians can understand Finns. 6. Easiest, because Norway have two writing systems, tons of dialects, no standard Norwegian is available and Danish is hard to pounce, even if Denmark have Danish as a standard language. 7. Very close to English 8. Computer science - Sweden spend a lot of money on A.I and other types of software to be used in industry. 9. Sweden is the head country in Scandinavia/nordic countries.
Btw, if you want to learn Icelandic (apologies Lindsay), learn Faroese first. It’s easier, and quite intelligible to an Icelander. It’s like Scots and English.

Jag ska lära mig svenska 2.0! Då är det ännu mer skit i grammatik och i konstigheter. Dessutom måste man skriva i sga standard galaktiska alfabetet med egna symboler för sje-ljudet. Sen får man kalla sga är ett skin till latinska alfabetet 🤔😂
To me, learning Swedish is only useful if you live and work in Sweden regularly. Even then, most of the media there is still in English, except for maybe some music and the news. As an American I can't say that Swedish would be a useful language for me personally.
You pronounce Swedish words like it's German 😂 love you!
