- Colin Firth explains the complicated painful relationship between his character Blake Morrison and his father, which is not like his own, and the highly emotional beautiful scene (end of the film based on Blake Morrison's best-selling book). He also explains why he chooses very different roles, one after another. He shares SNL was a 'petrifying experience'. Would like to see 'Valmont' reconsidered and so would we.

Having never missed his on screen performances, I can easily say Colin is so filled with charisma!
Adorable❤

Agree about Valmont. Always thought it was a great movie with first class actors and a first class story.
My God, I love you Colinnnnnn 😍
i wish colin firth had not been cut off while he was expressing that valmont was a beautiful film that did not get the attn it deserved. i saw valmont and les liaisons dangereuses, and they were both wonderful films. unfortunate timing for valmont. plus as a fan of both meg tilly and colin firth i loved their scenes together. guessing the interviewer had way too much ground to cover, but i would have loved to have heard more of colin’s take on valmont. he seemed very expressive w this interviewer, so who knows what gems we missed here. such a shame.
LOVE ACTUALLY‼️A

Valmont was robbed of the attention it deserved because of the earlier release of Dangerous Liaisons, since they were both based on the same book. Valmont was far superior to Dangerous Liaisons in every way.
I love Colin
It is so bad cause hi is not on social networks
I am not keen on this interviewer. He constantly interrupts and speaks so fast. Also,
1. Love Actually did not open to no fanfare. It was very well touted and was full of British stars, who were well known throughout the world: Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth.
2. In Love Actually, he meets his love interest in Marseille and flies back there to find her. She is Portuguese living within a Portuguese expat/immigrant community there. Italy does not figure in it.
3. Colin Firth is so darn nice.
that interviewer was so blustery, brash American-loud. I don't know how Colin Firth could struggle through
Colin could have corrected the interviewer---------but he's too nice. This interviewer had too much caffeine, I think.
He has these British good manners. But he seldom opens up in an interview. This guy is a film critic not a good interviewer. Actors have to do these interviews to promote films. Must be a pain in the neck after you finished the film and are preparing and thinking about the next one. I agree Valmont was unlucky coming out after Dangerous liaions and was much more interesting and nuanced. He and Meg Tilly fell in love and had a son together.
💜
me too
Me to
Well, Bridget Jones was played by an American. Probably to draw in an American audience for a British film.
je m inscris.
je veux quu il me raconte pleins d histoires
It’s not wanting to own them it’s wanting them to be similar to you they are of you after all.
L L • a lot of parents don’t want their children to be like them, “don’t make the same mistakes I did” or they don’t like seeing bad traits of themselves in their children.
Which IS wanting to own them..
🎉❤😊
The interviewer makes me want to 🤮
He needs to date men!!!
