Phew I remember those last few weeks I was studying for FAR. Hang in there, don't let up yet. Persevere and you'll get it! Once you're done - you're done FOREVER! Good luck!
I agree with having to be diligent and disciplined to study for the CPA. I work full time, am a mom, and study 30 to 40 hours per week on top of it all. Right now, I don't really have a life, but if it all goes to plan, in just 3 more months, I'll be done with my exams and can get back to my life
Ur inspiration for me..I moved to USA around 4 months ago and im trying to get job in accounting sectors and trying so hard but because of lack of refrences and work experience here in USA ; I have not been able to do..I have also been trying to be CPA but english seems to be the great problem.Anyway your youtube channel is super inspiring for me.I always get motivated seeing your hardwork.I aspire to be like you
Thank you both for this video, I've always been so hesitant to go for the CPA. I think I'm going to go for a CFE first, get officially certified and get an exam under my belt, then actually go for the CPA! This was very encouraging, and thank you for the resources! :)
Great video! I know I have personally failed FAR 4 times and on my 5th attempt that I will be taking it Mar 20th. I feel the Lord keeps calling game into doing this even though I have been failing. REG I have failed 3 times and AUD once. I know that with the Lord and a great support group of family and my husband, I will pass!
I passed AUD on my 5th try...I scored three 73’s and a 69 before passing with an 81! AUD was my last section and I passed it in January! Don’t give up! You will be so proud of yourself once you passed!
@@breezysmiles Thanks. I am not giving up. I am scoring is the high 50s to mid 60s, but I know that I will pass! Great job on getting through it yourself! It is good to talk and see other people who also struggle. These exams are not easy and not everyone is able to pass taking it for the first time. I promise you that I will not give up!
I felt inspired just reading this, because I know you WILL pass!! These exams are no joke and don't let anyone make you feel like a failure. Once you're done - you're done FOREVER! Best of luck to you! I'm so glad you have a great support system. That's half the battle!
I started studying for the CPA and I watch your old videos for moral support. I took BEC yesterday and I felt so defeated afterwards. I walked out of there saying: “Prometric, where dreams go to die!” I swear there was 10% of things that wasn’t in my study materials.
BEC was very difficult for me! It's the easier exam for most people, but REG was my "easiest" exam if there even is a term in CPA world. Easiest to study for, at least. BEC is very finance based, which I struggled with. But best of luck on your results!! You'll get through it!
Oh the CPA days. I passed in 2016. I did them in the order of BEC, FAR, REG (failed), AUD, REG. Guess I am a glutton for punishment as I got my CIA certification in 2020 and plan on the CMA in 2023 haha.
Phew you're motivated to keep putting yourself through studying haha. I am 10000% done with studying after the CPA - scarred me for life. But good for you!
It definitely helps, but is not necessary in my opinion. In my career, I have come across many that are successful in accounting without it and have rose through the ranks without the CPA. But, the license can expedite that growth in many cases and can open many doors in its own right.
I would say you want to have a cpa on your resume, otherwise (even despite of work experience etc) your resume will always be at the bottom of the pile in HR
There are many very successful people that don't have their CPA. The Comptroller of my University that I worked under during an internship didn't have his CPA. A partner at a CPA firm that I did another internship for, didn't have his CPA. I can list several successful people in both State and Federal government that are high up without their CPA. It's definitely not for everybody. And not getting it is totally fine. That being said, it is becoming more and more competitive as more people get the license. There are a lot more CPAs now than back 20-30 years ago. Meaning getting promoted, or applying for different jobs may have you up against a CPA; and more than likely the CPA will be chosen. Also, your pay grade in most cases will be higher with the CPA license - but salary definitely isn't everything. Getting the CPA will improve your job security and gives you negotiation power for interviews, but it's not 100% necessary everywhere. You can still be just as successful without it.
You mentioned that you used the AICPA blueprint to see the weight of each topic. When I looked the weighted topics were kind of general. I wonder how and where you checked and saw the 2% weight on a specific topic on the exam? Thank you for a great video.
Two truly classy ladies. May the Lord Jesus Christ God and His Holy Ghost be with you both and your loved ones. As a side note, it would be so cool if you filmed this video again in 30 years....if that is in the Lord's plan. Edit: I left the comment before I heard Laura give the Lord Jesus Christ God and His Holy Ghost the credit for helping her. Honestly, this is so very inspiring. May the Lord be with you always!
Thanks so much! It would be really neat if we did another video years later - if UA-cam is even still a thing! Neither one of us would have made it through without the Lord's provision over us. All glory to Him!
Just what I needed. I have like three months to pass my last exam (FAR) and I am STRUGGLING!

Hey great vid! I was just wondering if he cpa is necessary to get a good paying career. Not really interested in getting the certification.

Failed AUD a second time and feeling so discouraged 😥
Dont be. I got a 52, 60 and currently waiting on my score for my third attempt. I will take it again if I fail. Keep trying and dont quick!
