I also like Ron Rivera. He was the DC in 06, superbowl. Took the panthers to the superbowl with Cam Newton. He was on the 85 superbowl team. I think he's being overlooked by fans. He's shown he can win and has experience, also with a mobile QB.
Imo it's highly likely the Bears will hire Johnson. However there are several coaches that are high on my list, Brady, vrable, Glenn, monken, Carroll, shaw, Kafka and Flores. I'm very optimistic. Great show nick it's great to see ya back.
Flores + Caleb seems like the absolutely worst possible combo you could ever choose. The absolute opposite of choosing someone offensive minded and someone who could help Caleb progress.
I see it from another point of view. I definitely believe that the Bears will get this right. Bears fans may not know that poles did not hire Eberflus. Poles was hired and 2 days later , Eberflus was hired poles had no opportunity to do a real search. Imo poles has done an amazing job. This team was in cap purgatory, with no draft picks and he quickly turned it around. I believe with a good coach we would have won many more games this year and made the playoffs. The getsy and Waldron hire are on the HC not the GM, it's up 2 the HC to pick his staff. As far as vrable and Carroll are concerned we don't no the circumstances surrounding their situations, vrable could have made it clear that he'd like to be in new england and 4 the Bears perhaps they're extremely excited about Johnson. We just don't no being on the outside what each candidate is expecting and what the Bears are searching 4. I look at the situation we're in and I am very excited 4 our future, there's several candidates i think could be really good. Johnson, Brady, Glenn, vrable, Carroll, monken, Kafka and Flores. I really like Todd Monken, he uses the run and play action pass to set up more big plays than many of the other candidates, plus he doesn't rely heavily on the screen pass like some of the top candidates.
My ‘not Johnson guy’ has become (like a very popular female ESPN analyst and reporter we all love) Joe Brady. Why? Say I’m looking for the next Shanahan (who i wanted the Bears to get ) when he showed serious success as an OC with incredible pedigree. Has roots with success behind Payton who has shown serious hard ass. Incredible inventor who keeps it organized and explains it simple. Believes in structural run game. Knows the value of a QB tying his feet to the receiver’s routes. Has given an incredible lift to the ‘consistency’ of Buffalo’s offense and pass game. And has the “interior solid gears turning in his head, semi-recluse, personable, less salesman more matter of fact, bottom line to every decision vibe” that i have seen in Kyle Shanahon. Might need training wheels like a very successful HC, DC in Ron Rivera to help him get off the ground. Might get a look at him going head to head against Johnson. I rest my case.
Kingsbury is the polar opposite of Flores. I don't particularly want either. Outside the top 2, I'd go Carroll, Monken, Glenn or McCarthy if he becomes available.
I don't know about Kingsbury. From personal experience, it is very difficult for a non-confrontational person to become assertive. The Bears require assertiveness.

The Bears have had opportunities to hire another Dikta type and have passed, imo Johnson is probably there top choice. I think Bieniemy would make a good OC for the Bears. A lot of people criticized him for his strict approach in Washington but the Bears players are asking for this. I don't necessarily think the strict disciplinarian has to be the HC, just a no bs guy that will bench or move on from your a$$.
McCaskey's need to open up their checkbook and pay whatever Ben Johnson is going to cost. Ben paired for the next decade with Caleb Williams would be amazing 😍🤩
I hope they don't get creative and hire someone again that nobody else would have hired. That sort of hire would make it 4 out of the 5 past HCs. Johnson or Vrabel is what I'd prefer, but Glenn, Brady, Coen, and Carroll interest me, too.

Maybe even worse than Getsy. But let’s be real Caleb needs to grow up!! It might have worked had he learned faster. It’s hard to know everything from the outside…
If you want a coach to scare the players and tell them they suck, then you hire Flores, he’s like Ditka on steroids. Kingsbury is the opposite. Johnson is a perfect balance, as is Glenn and Shaw.
I do not want Flores. He will not help Caleb Williams. As for what happened in Miami, anybody can come up with an excuse. It's Vrabel or some of the top offensive coordinators, Johnson, Coen or Brady.
