Then and Now - Singapore

- When I did this video, I came to realise that Singapore has changed tremendously in such a short span of time. It was comparatively a third world progression to the first. The photos are not totally mine. I took some photos from my dad's collection and friends in social media. I am sure there are many other places where old structures have stood over the test of time and have modern buildings erected around it. Hope you can share with me more locations that are similar to the theme of this video.
Best Regards
Sarafian Salleh
Just a quick comment: the transitions between pictures a bit too fast. Otherwise, a great video for someone like me who loves nostalgia.
Thank you for ur feesback kind Sir. I will take note of that in my future videos. Have a great day🙏🏻☺️🙏🏻☺️
My father used to take me to those places when I was little, a couple of decades ago. Thank you Mr Salleh for the sweet memories.
Thank you for your kind words and shared experiences. God bless you🙏🏻☺️🙏🏻☺️
It's nice to know that sections of old Singapore rich in history are still around.
Yes indeed . Thank you sir🙏🏻😇
At 3:19 I always like the old SBS buses especially model Isuzu with its livery in silver and red line. :)
That was a bone shaker ya😄
I have a lot of relatives from Singapore especially from my mom's side and she is the older sister of my grandmother. She was born in johor in Malaysia, and she already live in Singapore with her late husband and moved there for good. She work and live in Singapore with her husband and still amazing.
Are you still in contact with your relatives in Singapore? :-)
For a small country with so much developing on, it is amazing how so many landmarks still remain, amidst the changes of their surroundings. Thank you for this video, nostalgia for someone like me who was born in the 70s and growing up witnessing the actual change.
Nevertheless we still have to educate our younger generations to appreciate what’s left so that future developments do not rob the existing heritage off us. Thanks for ur input Veronica☺️🙏🏻
Wow, Central Fire Station, I used to live inside the station, second floor near the front gate. Thank you for the memory and photo.

@@sarafiansalleh6200 Happy Chinese New year to you too my friend. Be well and be safe.
How old are you?
So many old buildings got destroyed
Seems to me as well 🙂
great video.. just not too sure if Singapore could actually be considered third world then.. Singapore was probably on par with Hong Kong in terms of infrastructure development. Just that locals were poor (most were immigrants escaping poverty in their homelands afterall)..
british made locals poor in singapore and hongkong
singapore was already very modern before independence. lee k y was lucky to have inherited an already advanced city.
How do you judge advanced? By looking at the buildings?
Malaysia very unlucky with plenty of natural resources, palm oil, timber, cruel oil, water, and land? Who is luckier?
modern? compared to what? India?
So it is lucky that we have become what we are today?
2-storey Paya Lebar to 4-terminal Changi is by luck?
Non-aircon buses to 6-line MRT system is by luck?
GDP per capita at USD $500 in 1965 to USD$90,000 in 2022 is by luck?
I really hope you are not a singaporeab else we are aa very unlucky to have an ungrateful ingrate among us
Awesome! Good for comparisons.. Enjoyed it..Thanks for Uploading ! Keep It Up ! 👍🏽👌🏽🙏🏽😊
Thank you very much Sir :-)
