So many of our local mountain roads just close after storms or for all winter! It's hard to go anywhere except to the Valley and back again. Always put in the snowshoes or skies. The local weather and snow conditions are not predictable until you get there. What if the car broke down or was in a drift? You'd want the snow buoyancy. Well, you can try next time, when dog- and child-care allow. It is winter after all, and you're a new dad. We understand, Jake! Hobbies must yield slightly! 😉
