9 COSTLY MISTAKES to avoid in your watch collecting journey! ➡ ua-cam.com/video/SxKQ_BDe4jA/v-deo.html
I have the older 41mm blue dial on the bracelet with the in-house movement. It's been a super accurate watch over the years.
Tudor’s movements are usually pretty solid 💪🏼
I got the Tudor metas last week and I like it so much I’m wearing it 24/7. It’s less than one second fast per day so far so the most accurate mechanical watch I have had. Visually it is update of my 1978 Tudor sub that I have work almost every day since I got it as a gift new. I’m hoping to get the new Rolex sub from an AD soon as well. They are all terrific! I do like the narrower lugs on the Tudor, though.
Adding a Sub would make it an awesome dual! Enjoy your BB whilst you wait 😉
Bought the metas black bay also this week. It runs the same +4 seconds a day like my ranger with only the cosc movement. For me both watches are accurate enough and +4 dont stress me our but -1 would 😁
If you don't get on your knees for Rolex, aren't worried about impressing others and do not want to put on a wait list, the Tudor works.
It is funny because there is currently a 'waitlist' for this new BB, but I reckon it will last no more than 2 months 😆
nice comparison. thank you
Thanks for tuning in!
I have the old one 5 years now it's been pretty solid and accurate I EVEN DROPPED IT on wood floor I was lucky nothing happened to it. I like where Tudor is heading now their sales will definitely increase as people prefer thinner and smaller watches not chunky pieces.
Do you reckon you will replace the old one with this new model? Having dropped it before is a pretty good excuse to update it 🤣
@@KCTimeShare Nah I'm keeping it!!! I like the heft and the big presence of my watch. I would rather add the new one to my collection:)
@@teddyhenriquez5192 I’d also always prefer to add than replace 😏
Great review, exactly the details and comparisons (new/old) I wanted to see! The 58 is too small for me personally, but the thickness of the old 41mm put me off. I didn't like the burgundy bezel from the new version, but Finally! It seems Tudor have hit the jackpot!
Perhaps you can add this new Metas BB to your collection soon! And thanks for your kind feedback, I'm glad you have enjoyed my video, please consider subscribing to my channel if you want to see more videos from me in the future 🫡
Subscribed .comparison video ftw
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Great to see the comparison! The matte black on the Tudor make it attract less attention, but of course the Rolex is in a different league. May I throw this in the mix: sun ray dial and ceramic bezel with a vintage look and no gilt elements: the Breitling SuperOcean Heritage 57. Sure it only has 100m water resistance and the movement is not in house, but I don’t care too much about that.
Funnily enough, a Breitling was my first luxury watch, but I couldn't stand its thickness and ended up letting it go 😢
@@KCTimeShare Check out the reference I mentioned. It’s not the standard SuperOcean, but a very elegant vintage inspired watch.
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
Congrats on picking up one, I hope you will get to wear it a bit more!
Great scoop on this comparison video. I agree with your final conclusions. Tudor is getting closer to the Rolex Submariner, but the Rolex still looks like a thinner case design, better bezel action, better Glidelock, and better Steel. I still go for the Submariner, not withstanding the price difference.
But I just took possession of a new Patek, so I’m wearing that right now.
I saw your community post and I look forward to finding out which new PP have you recently acquired! Congrats btw!
I really think Tudor has the best bezel action I know of, and not sure I agree on the glide lock except for divers it don't really offers anything extra. And all the parts often go wrong and the screw screws out and locks in the clasp. I work as a watchmaker at a Rolex and Tudor shop so I have a lot of experinence in this regard.
HEY #nkuwan I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
Thank you!
Trying to decide if I should trade my Rolex Explorer 39mm and TudorBB burgundy metas for a Rolex Sub40mm date or 41mm sub no date. What do you think? Always wanted a sub.
If it was me, I'd keep the Explorer and the Metas BB, since the BB look so similar to the Sub anyway. But I think you have answered your own question in your last remark, go for it! 😏
Great comparison!
Thank you!
omg thanks for this vid
You are very welcome!
I went to Tourneau/ Bucherer in NYC today. They have the one on Jubilee available, but no BB 58 GMT. They don’t expect to receive them until July!
That's a real shame as the BB58 GMT is the one I'm might consider buying!
@@KCTimeShareI went to a second Tudor AD in NYC, they said the same thing. Won’t be available until July.
@@sc1 Thanks for the update, that's very useful info to have!
I've been really happy with my Black Bay 54. This is too big for my tastes, but is great value 😊
Same here!
Really like the 5 link. If the sub came on a 5 link I’d like it more. Me personally I don’t think a gmt is worth 8-12k more than the black bay just for a similar bracelet. They wear so similar now especially if you came from wearing thicker watches you won’t tell a difference in the wearability.
Yeh, I'm glad Tudor gives us so many bracelet options for this model!
Is there any difference than the last year model? Cause I really like the red bezel.
Nope, same watch except the bezel and gilt trim/font
As far as I can tell, it is just a simple colour change, rest of the specs are pretty much identical.
@KCTimeShare question! My AD made a special order and said they should have it by August, my question is if I back out does it look bad? I really want the Rolex😅 thanks! I also gave them a 20% down payment.
Hmm, I think it is fair enough that you changed your mind whilst you wait, I think as long as you have an open and honest conversation with your AD, it should be fine. After all, they will still end up getting stock delivered to their store whether there was a special order or not, and at least for the time being, it shouldn’t be too difficult for your AD to shift one more newly released piece. Just my 2 cents 😬
@@KCTimeShare made up my mind! Picking up on Saturday the mono. After my 🍯 🌕 I will go for a GMT M II.
Got the Burgundy on Oyster for 40% below RRP, new. 😊
Is that the 2023 Metas model? I didn't realise it can be had for 60% of the RRP already!? Congrats on the awesome pick up!
@@KCTimeShare yes METAS. from profile builders..
Silly KC. It’s not either or. It’s both! Submariner on oyster plus BB41 on rubber or 5 link! I actually love it on the rubber strap!
haha, good one! This is a solid release by Tudor and I can see the new BB to fly off the shelf at least for the first couple of months!
Hi , great review. Would you know if the rubber strap has to be cut to the size of your wrist ?
@@thomasbonass7239 the 6 o’clock side is fixed (but they do offer sizes to buy separately). The 12 o’clock side has to be cut to fit.
@@BLR653 thank you appreciate your reply .
Maybe take it easy on the caffeine, next time. Both very nice watches, BTW.
Sold my 124060 sub to get the monochrome black bay. It’s such a good looking watch and will cost me nearly a third of the price that I got for the sub.
It is nice to get some money back 😄
Don't think you mentioned that the Rolex Sub has crown guards, where as the Black Bay does not, but if you did apologies in advance.
You are spot on, I did miss it indeed! Thanks for pointing it out 😊
I'm afraid didn't understand which watch was which. So many shots showed two watches without saying what they were. Or were there three new watches shown? I'm afraid I was lost.
Black Tudor is the 2024 Metas BB, Red Tudor is the 2023 Metas BB, the Green Tudor is the previous generation BB Harrods, the Rolex is the Submariner Date. I hope this clarifies!
Forget the Jubilee bracelet on this watch - the Oyster is the way to go for a sleek/tough/work watch - and it def is the Submariner 'look'
A Submariner look for a third of the price 🥳
The movement in the previous blackbay is the same as the new one, only now they go the extra length to get them metas certified.
Did you get this remark from B&J? 😝
Black Bay: is Old English for most boring watch dial ever to cost $4k. That's the most expensive dive watch without a ceramic bezel. It really destoys the premium first glance appearance to downgrade to an aluminium insert. Ceramic is not expensive.
Excellent video by the way, you covered all the point with high video quality.
Thank you for the kind feedback! 🙏🏼
Dumb comment. Stop being cheap and get a Submariner and stop bitching. Tudor BBs are budget watches that are specifically made to be a cheaper alternative to Rolex watches in every way. And for the price point you will not find a watch with better pedigree and stats, it's a $4k watch with exceptional value for what you get, an inhouse Metas movement made by one of the best watch brands in the world..
When Hans Wilsdorf created Tudor he specifically wanted to offer a less expensive option with less premium features.
I own both Rolex and Tudors and the contrast between them is what I love. The fact it has an aluminum bezel is a selling point, not a con, in fact if it had a ceramic bezel, one they would cost more and two it would not have the same appeal.
Tudor ❤
While the Tudor BB41 is a great release it definitely cannot replace the sub . The sub is an icon and will hold its value for years to come
I cannot agree with you more! 😎
you’re literally my comfort person i love you #nkuwan !
A 120 click bezel is much easier to make than a 60 click bezel. Seiko usually uses 120. The less clicks, the harder it is to make without it backplay. Tudor actually has a nicer bezel action in this regard and the sound is also nicer from the Tudor.
I'm not a watch maker so cannot comment on whether a 60-click bezel is harder or easer to manufacture than a 120-click bezel, but I always thought the 120-click option is more premium. Just my 2 cents!
I’m getting the new Tudor black bay
That would be an awesome pick up!
Rolex sports watches are the mercedes a class of the watch world. People who have them think they're flexing. People who know, just laugh and know
I think I kinda agree with you here!
…I am not a Rolex Fanboy at all but still, your metaphor is out of proportion. A Rolex sports watch costs 10-15k€ from new but we all know, you cannot just go and buy them as their value on the grey market sits more between 15-30k€. So talking about let’s say 20k€ in the watch world doesn’t compare at all to A class in the car world…. Either you don’t know the watch market or you don’t know about the car market, or potentially both…?😂
I know about both m8. People buy Merc A class for one reason "the merc badge" they could get an excellent golf for the same money. Same applies to people who pay artificially inflated prices for Rolex. You sound like a fan boy tbh....
This is bang on.
The sub is pretty much an entry level Rolex and really isn’t the flex a lot of people think it is.
Or you could just buy the watch because you like it.. Gotta love the Internet for it's endless supply of people clambering to force opinions down your throat 👍
The submariner actually sit on the wrist more true to size, that what I feel for me,as someone who owns the bb41.
The ending statement is so true though , if you want the Rolex in the first place, no Tudor will ever satisfy, sold my bb41 , while I wait for the Rolex and meanwhile got the santos de Cartier to fill the void in my watch collection
I hope you will get the call for your Submariner very soon!
I will take the Black Bay Monochrome over the Submariner. However I’ll take the new black/grey GMT MasterII over the new BB58 GMT.
A very interesting comparison! For me, it will be Black/Grey GMT > Submariner > BB58 GMT > Metas BB 😆
Jubilee BB is the jubilee Sub we never get.
But there is a Jubilee black/grey GMT 😏
Looking forward to a version from San Martin 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm sure it will come soon lol
Thanks for the comparison, the Tudor is such good value compared to the Sub. I think its an excellent substitute and I don't think its a substitute at all. I think I may go for this
Thanks for tuning in! The two watches do look very similar so I can definitely see where you are coming from!
I think I may quit waiting for the sub and buy the Tudor - save the $- and actually have a watch to wear- it’s not waiting to afford one its waiting to get one at retail - lol
That is not a bad idea to be honest, go for it!
What is the real retail now? I'd jones over the Pepsi, but it's probably easier finding the Lost Arc of the Covenant.
AD retail price of Submariner is £8,050, Black Submariner Date is £9,000 and Green Submariner Date is £9,450 as at Apr 2024. But not that it matters anyway as we cannot get one at retail 😆
Brushed ceramic bezel over shiny ceramic any day of the week.
But not when I'm out travelling when I don't want to draw any attention 😉
Why does the old black bay’s proportions look so wonky?
Huh, really? It looks normal to me.
Honestly the older tudor submariner has more charm to it. The qc for the latest tudors are honestly questionable
At least Tudor is trying to recreate something for those who love the older style Tudor diver 😆
@@KCTimeShare i do like the no guilt going on, hoping they may do it on the bb 54
Looking at them side by size the Sub just looks leagues ahead.
And also priced way above 😁
The bb54 is still the best tudor.
It is a good looking piece but it is certainly not my fav Tudor 🫢
A Rolex is a Rolex…
Correct 🫡
Much rather the Tudor. I really wished the new Tudor 41 had a gilt face. Bit of a shame
Whereas many others love the pure Black & White theme of it 😂
Both are excellent watches but I prefer the Tudor. I don’t like shiny sport watches and the submariner is too shiny. Great video and many thanks for sharing.
Thank you, I'm glad you have enjoyed my video! I think I got both the BB58 and Submariner for the same reasons 😄
The fact that 50% of the "Rolexes" are fake goes to show that people really don't wear what they want, they wear what they think other people think of what they wear.
I wear a BB58 Blue on a blue rubber Vanguard strap. I believe it's the best looking watch and the the blue strap makes it unique among millions of identical Rolex watches.
I'm not sure if I'd agree with your first statement, at least I don't wear to impress myself!
I think the sub looks a lot better and you can just tell its better build quality. And as you say if you want a sub then nothing else will scratch that itch and you shouldn’t waste your money on this tudor
The Sub better be better built given how much more expensive it is 😂🤣
Nice watches but there's a reason there always below msrp. QC not as good, finishing not as good, still slab sided and too thick in the case. Solid watch but way below a Sub. Just like everyone is saying its a Sub "Substitute". Very few people regret getting a Sub. I traded in my Tudor heritage less than a month after getting it because I couldn't get past the slab case sides and pulled the trigger on a Sub and have not regretted it once. This new Tudor in Monochrom does look sharp and is a little thinner so Im sure it will be a popular Sub "Substitute " but is certainly not = to a Rolex Sub...
I agree with your assessment, and I also sold my BB Harrods for the same reason, and oh yeh, the weight is another downside I must say!
The slab case sides? Makes zero sense, it literally has the same case side and design as a Submariner. In fact the BB has a slightly better design as it has beveled edges while the Sub has straight edges. This cannot be compared to the Sub when the Sub is more than twice as much.
When Hans Wilsdorf created Tudor he specifically wanted to offer a less expensive option, Of course it's a substitute for a Sub, well duh welcome to 1926 when Tudor was founded to be exactly that, an alternative. Tudor even used to use base ETA movements. For a watch that cost $4k it is an exceptional value.
Stop trying to act like an elitist snob and just buy the watch you like, no one is making or asking you to buy this as a Rolex Submariner replacement, because it is not.
@@j.taveras8447 I agree of most of what you posted. The Tudor BB is an excellent watch amd so is the Sub. In the end get what you like and be happy. Both are great watches..
Not sure how anyone can think that watch looks good on the 5 link.
Different people have different tastes I supposed 😉
Totally agree- the Oyster is sleek/elegant/minimal - perfect design for a work watch...The Jubilee is to busy/too 'jewelry' IMHO!
Not nice on ur wrist . Too big bro
Yeh, not for me 🥲
The older 116610 40mm Rolex had a super-case not maxi-case, it did however have a maxi-dial.
Also, trying to compare a Black Bay to a Submariner is absolutely ridiculous. It's like comparing a Mercedes C class to a Honda Accord.
Simply put they are in a different league and it is exactly as Hans Wilsdorf stated when he made Tudor. It is a less expensive and less premium alternative for those that could not afford a Rolex.
If you have the money, you will buy a Rolex which is more than twice the price of the Tudor, if you do not, well you will save for the Rolex or buy the alternative.
And collectors will buy both as I have because Tudor offers heritage vintage features a Rolex will not have, such as guilt dials, aluminum bezels, smaller case size, big crown with no crown guards case and availability.
Isn’t maxi case and super case the same thing? 🤷🏻♂️
@@KCTimeShare No, the correct term is super case when you are talking about the 11 series Rolex cases. You can say maxi if you want but you'd be wrong.
If you want a rolex then get a rolex, if you want an alternative get an omega, iwc, breitling etc, dont buy the tudor as you will end up selling it and losing almost 50 percent
If you want a Rolex, then get a Rolex period. Forget about alternatives 😆
@@KCTimeShare I prefer the alternatives, no Rolex really appeals to me, except for the explorer
Omega, IWC or Breitling depreciate like crazy, these things drop like stones on the secondary market. I bet you that this new Tudor in Black will hold its value far better than any Omega Seamaster or IWC ever will😅
@@arnaudmarbehant7840 Tudor bb58 retail £3450 but selling for £2k on eBay
Iwc mark 18 retail £4k selling for 3.5k
You can't compare Tudor to iwc or omega
Watches are not investments. Buy what you like. I like my Rolex Ceramic no-date Sub. Great watch. But I love my Black Bays. 58, Chrono and recently the S&G. I prefer the Aluminium bezels and bigger profile of the Chrono and S&G especially, I'm Going to trade the sub for a previous gen 16613ln bi-metal sub Aluminium bezel i simply prefer the design language of the older watches. I get great pleasure from my Tudors Everyone else doesn't matter I don't give a flying fuck what someone else likes. It's about what I like. And if you can't stand or are worried about losing money then you have no business flopping £5-15k on any watch. Oh and you don't need to spend lots to love a watch 2 of my favourite watches in my collection are Squale. Italian diving watches. Less than a grand gets you a phenomenal watch i love my 1521. But I suspect most people who buy watches are trying to flex. It's a silly thing to do. Stop buying things that you don't need or can't afford to impress people you don't know. That is my advice.
Tudor crap, Rolex Submariner total gem!
I'm not sure if I'd agree with your first comment 🙁
Your comment is crap. FI.
I believe no man can say no to #mamacoo
In Toronto canada I buy a super super clone I bring it to a rolex expert he say it was real rolex . Unbelievable. Your super clone look just like mine. You a expert but a regular person like me will never know. Imagine on nkuwan
