- Hello everyone! Welcome to Hansen River, my 5-year old Sims 2 BACC Challenge. After showing snippets of this neighbourhood in past videos and streams, and always receiving requests to see more, I finally decided to go ahead and make a mini-series touring my hood. This hood has many sims and a lot of history, so this is just part 1 of the tour, focusing on the original founding family (The Hansen's) and their many descendants.

I LOVE seeing other people's BACCs and ideas! As a dedicated BACC player, there's nothing more inspiring.
This was such a great tour, it was lovely to get to see this hood. Its beautiful ❤ The love and attention you've put into this project really shows, and that's so inspiring. You've mentioned the music business several times in your PV let's play so it was really cool to finally get to see it 🤗 All of these sims and their homes are so personable; I adore the way you've shaped their lives based on each personality. For example, the oldest son didn't take over the farm from his father just 'cause he's the oldest son, he actually got to live his own life and leave the farm to his younger brother who had the interest in it. I love that ❤ Loved the way you presented the hood too: you're such a great story teller
Thank you so much Ani 😊❤️ And yes, Benjamin taking over the farm just didn't feel right - it was always in Frank's blood. What I love, is that somehow in the Sims 2 you get these senses for the sims. Like I "knew" that Benjamin had to get out and make his own life, and I "knew" that Frank was the right one to carry on from Jebediah. One of the reasons I just adore this game.

I think I watched you build the Town Hall in one of your previous videos and I was actually very curious about the rest of the town. I loved seeing how beautiful and detailed everything is. The farmhouse with the garden plots, landscaping and whole farmhouse comfy and cozy style was really beautiful. The introduction of that first house gave me some Minecraft vibes and starting out with a first-night-shelter that grows into a castle or whatever, when you talked about it starting out as a 3 by 3 shack, and the rest of the house was added on later. I can almost feel how much fun it must have been to build the house up and add to it along the way. Everything is just so comfy and cozy and I really love the whole farmhouse style that you achieved there in general.
The beer garden sounds like such an amazing addition to the bar & grill! I really love how simple, yet perfectly fitting in it's looks and functionality this building is for it's purpose. And that hardware store! ❤
Ok, so here I am, watching the video, writing along, because I wanted to leave a more in-depth comment to the video, since I fell in love with the town in the first minute... when halfway through I suddenly hear you mention my channel's name! So that was a bit surreal. 😂 Might need a minute to recover. 😁 Thanks for mentioning that! 🥰
It absolutely shows how much you love this neighbourhood and these characters, which made it really captivating to watch. There is so much life and depth to all of these backstories and family histories... and I live for that sort of thing. 🥰Loved the tour, you clearly put so much love and attention into this hood and I'm officially in love with Hansen River now. ❤
Haaahahah I'm sorry!! - you basically did start a BACC though with Cherry Blossom Springs, and the amount of history you have in Simsville!!! - those towns are your BACCs, and don't forget it ☺️

Thank you! I made a big effort last round to do some needed renovations to the houses. It makes me so much more inspired to play when the homes are nicely decorated and have some personality!

This is just video #1 haha. I was going to tour my spreadsheet and rules and aging system in this video (I recorded the footage) but I cut it out cos the video was going to be too long lol, so stay tuned for that in the next one 😘
Wooow, I really love how connected everything looks, super immersive 🔥The storytelling behind sims is superb, I've got to note what you are doing with the Sims 3 traits for my own gameplay, hehe 😄
And have I got it right, that pictures at 12:00 are custom recolors of the maxis frames made by you?

Sat in bed and watched the entire thing in one go with a cuppa tea - so inspiring!!! I love all of your sims, builds and the CC you have used. I can't wait until my sims have enough money and get off the struggle bus so I can actually expand and decorate their homes.
Honestly, most of my sims are still on the struggle bus or only recently getting their homes decorated! haha. And I may have spruced one or two of them up a little bit for the video 🙈😅 Your sims will get there! The struggle bus is what the BACC is all about hehe

Loved this! Thank you! Can't wait to see more. I love the vibes of this town and it looks like you have some really interesting rules, gameplay systems and mods going on! I'd love to know more. I will do a BACC one day and this is inspiring. Btw, do you use Epi's Baby Personality mod? If you don't that might be why you have lots of grouchy sims as in the maxis system, they tend to run out of personality points before getting to the grouchy-nice section.
I don't have that mod, I should really install it 🙈 I am sick of grouchy Sims lol.

Absolutely love this video and you're inspiring me to start my own BACC! What are you rules on adding want slots since Hansen River doesn't have a university?

So I base it on lifetime aspiration points. If a Sim is born in-game, they get an extra want slot at 100k points, an extra want lock at 150k points, and the final want slot at 200k.
If a Sim is created as an adult in CAS I minus 50k points off all of those benchmarks since they didn't have a childhood to earn points in 🙂

SO MUCH LORE 🥰 I love this! It's so nice looks wise, all the families are so detailed and I love how they all have different traits and hobbies and skills and there's not copycats running around. This must have taken so long to do and I am a huge fan. I also won't be upset if you wanted to do a live stream of this neighborhood more often because I just want to see a lot more of it. Great job!! 😁
I love that we get to see your Off-Camera BACC on camera, I never made it 5-years into a BACC hood yet, it's very interesting to see where the BACC goes.

Love the neighborhood, I was just wondering if you could give any advice on how to rebuild a neighborhood that has been corrupted.
Hi, glad you enjoyed the hood!
Unfortunately I don't have an easy way out for you...
To rebuild Hansen River, I:
1. Noted ALL of my sims' information in a spreadsheet minus memories because I decided that would be too hard, sold all businesses & cars
2. Moved them all out of their houses
3. Cleaned all of the lots using the Chris Hatch globe cleaner & the lot compressor to clean all lots of Sim references
4. Extracted all of the Sims in SimPE and saved them to a folder, then cloned them in body shop and added them to my SavedSims folder (to appear in the SimBin), including any deceased ancestors for gravestones
5. Created a blank, clean new hood with no townies or Sims (there are tutorials online for how to do this)
6. Used a program called "Hood Replace" to import my terrain, lots and hood deco, and create Hansen River 2.0
7. Recreated the Sims and families in CAS from the Sim Bin, restoring all personalities, relationships etc that I could, and moved them back into their lots, re-unalived any Sims who needed to be
8. Fixed any relationship issues in SimPE (for example, setting two adults as mother and child) or with mods
9. Restored traits, businesses, and cars, and any inter-family relationships.
10. Created my own custom townies
11. Used mods to rank my businesses back up to the level they had achieved and rehired employees, using mods to give them talent badges where needed so I didn't have to retrain them.
The whole process took quite some time 🙃 but I'm happy I did it. In terms of advice... take your time and be thorough!

I always love to see what other people are doing with their own BACC or BACC adjacent neighborhoods. It gives a great insight into how each of us adapt those rules to match our own preferred play styles.

Not at all! - it was actually a joy, I was so excited for everyone to meet my Sims haha. Still want to keep the actual gameplay mostly off-camera though haha
You said Hannah works part-time as an art teacher… Is she employed in the Education career, then, or how do you handle that?
No so I just summon her to the school on Art days (Tuesdays I think?) And then at the end of the week the "government" pays her a small wage ☺️

I made the terrain in Sim City 4 on just the standard small size map tile, perhaps that is larger than some of the other terrains in TS2?

@@TeaAddict I have been kind of wanting to at least do a community lot tour of my main hood, show stuff like the pool, the parks, etc. I’ve done lot tours of my vacation hoods and my downtown but not the main hood!

Hey! Thank you so much ☺️ I made those by taking screenshots and then creating some custom recolours of some photographs. I have a tutorial here on the channel about how to create custom recolours, and I demonstrate how to recolour pictures in particular, if you wanted to watch that!

I just started playing Sims 2 again and I am always a little confused looking for a Sims 4 item and realizing, duh, that’s in Sims 4. Lol. And I see sooo many 4t2 things on this video and it’s giving me cognitive dissonance. 🤣

Love your bacc! I´ve played many bacc´s through the years, never finished one but it´s still so much fun. My last one that I really loved crashed with my computer so I just started a new one on my new computer. I really like the look of your hood and the buildings, wow, great inspiration for me.

Hey Soraya! glad you enjoyed the video 😊😊 Ohh the yellow star is a mod! - super useful, it's a mod that allows you to give customer loyalty stars instantly to anyone who visits the business.
When I rebuilt the hood, I had to figure out an easy way to get my rank 10 businesses back up to rank 10 because there's no way to set that or cheat that. So I found that mod, and played the businesses for a day, maxing out any sims' customer loyalty instantly when they came to the lot, and ranked the businesses back up 😊

Watched this already but came back again just because I love BACCs and seeing how peoples' hoods develop and how their towns grow. One of the best challenges and I hope my BACC one day will look as lovely as Hansen River❤
