LOL 08:50 absolutely love that transition! well, Sims 4 is absolutely horrible with birthday parties. In the previous games the birthday Sim would wait out until everyone was gathered, so they could all clap, scream and do wtv until they blew the candles. Now, in the sims 4, most of the time my Sims just blow the candles and no one reacts or does anything. like it didn't happen. Ehhh
In one of my Sims 3 games, I learned the cake can catch on fire when I was aging up my second set of quadruplets (had two sets of four). One cake caught on fire, set the whole dining room on fire, and somehow spread to the kitchen before finally being put out and I went from a family of ten to four left and most guests didn't make it. Glad I saved right before cause that was just awful. Afterwards I installed sprinklers and moved everything outside to be safe 😅. Never had that happen again in 10yrs now but I also changed the settings back to lower the chances of that ever happening again cause I was stressed irl with those babies.
I noticed that the video mentioned that toddlers were added to the sims 4 in 2017, but didn't mention that the infant update wasn't added until March of 2023. Just to let people know.
Look at the difference of the look of The Sims 2 cake and Sims 4. Ya might be able to make your own cake in TS4, but even that process (being not very good, with no attention to detail), is not enough to salvage it.
I have the opposite opinion. Sims 3 cake, like the whole sims 3 game, looks way wayyyyy too cartoonish for me. Everything looks so fake and plastic and especially the sims' faces creep me out and give me that uncanny valley feeling. Also the sims 3 lighting of the words is somehow blindingly bright
For once, Sims 4 isn't immediately the most inferior! I like the sims singing "Happy Birthday" in non-copyrighted Simlish. It does seem kind of weird that you can throw a party in a stranger's house though.
Imo Sims 3 is actually the worst with birthdays simply because of how glitchy the parties can be in that game. Half the sims don't show up because they have work and the other half leave 15 seconds in. It makes it very hard to have a nice long birthday party with family and friends from around the town. Sims 2 is the best because of the cutscenes for aging up and I enjoy the party system more than the checklist in Sims 4.
