- In this vlog I go back to my high school classroom for the 2022-2023 school year. These are both days 2 and 3. This is my first September as a high school teacher. I organize my walls, label, setup my classroom library, share my class decor, and more. I hope it inspires something new or validates an idea you have in your own classroom.
My name is Alexa Borota and I teach High School English. I also taught Middle School English Language Arts for eight years. I enjoy reflecting on the craft of teaching while providing tips and suggestions along the way. We can all use a little encouragement and humor!

I’m going to back to college really soon and I’m learning how to drive get my dream car and I’m really excited and I’m going to get the Nintendo switch oled and get the iPhone 13 in pink and I’m going back to college to get my education for teaching I’m teaching English and I’m learning new languages right now before i start teaching English and I’m really excited i love learning new languages ☺️
Hi Alexa! I’m a first year teacher wondering what printer laminator you were using for your labels??
Congratulations! The first year can be the most overwhelming, but also the most EXCITING. I’m pasting a link to the laminator. It has been 8 years and it’s still running great. I see today there is a markdown on Amazon. Scotch is a great brand and this one comes with the laminating pouches. As a first year teacher, I’d say a laminator is one of the best things you could buy.

Hi Alexa! Just watching your set up from last year for inspiration and noticed your EB Academics binder. Is it really all the hype? What is your opinion on it? I'm curious because I was seriously thinking about it last school year. I don't want to fork over a bunch of money unless it is something that I will use every day or at least every other day. Thank you! Hope you enjoy your summer!
I LOVE EB Academics. If I taught middle school I might even still be a member. They have you covered from lesson plans to flash cards to creative activities. Everything they create looks engaging and is editable. There’s a Batch Planning workshop they offer over the summer that is super helpful. I would say go for it.
