Fuel Leak Fixed on Honda 4 Wheeler ATV; Carburetor Replacement: Removal and Installation

- This full-length video shows every step of removing and replacing a carburetor in a Honda Rancher ES Four Wheeler ATV.
The symptom this 4-wheeler had when it was brought to the shop was a gas leak. When the fuel cutoff valve was open to either the main tank or the reserve tank, fuel drains out of the overflow tube onto the ground.
Removing the carburetor involves:
removal of the air filter and air filter box
disconnect the fuel line into the carburetor
disconnect the choke cable
disconnect the throttle cable
remove right side panel and disconnect the electronic fuel cutoff wires

Please help me. I removed carb and installed new like in video. When I turn in fuel it still poors out the bottom. I plug the bottom and it poors out the two vents. I thought carb was bad cause it was cheap. I rebuilt old carb and put it on ..SAME THING...fuel pooring out. What am I doing wrong?????!!!!!!!!

I had two of those 350's, one was a 2000 and the other a 2004. They sure were good bikes, but then again they are Honda's. I am a hunter and I have a five and half mile ride back in the bush that consists of beaver ponds, hills, and mud. I have had my atv trailer full of stuff (500-700lbs), myself and a passenger (450lbs) and those bikes did the job without any effort what so ever. I also pulled a 900lb bull moose out of the bush in the trailer too. They are tanks when it comes to work. I am not afraid to work my atv's but I am very particular and fussy on how my bikes are treated. Some laugh cuz I am known for how well I keep my equipment. I had a guy wanna know when I traded my 04 in so he could go to the dealer at the same time and buy the bike (it was better for me price wise to trade it in on new bike rather then what I could've got selling it private. I saved a load of money on taxes that way) and the guy that bought it had it four months and his shed burnt down with the bike in it. He was VERY UPSET about that cuz the bike was still in mint shape at seven years old.

I would have cleaned the environment /even the airbox ,before I started the work. Clearer video, and no chance of junk contaminating the engine. I have a mechanic that leaves my Honda dirty when I get it back and it drives me crazy. It takes only a minute and alittle air compression to blow the junk clean. Charge alittle more but it comes home clean (engine).
So...why dont you just clean YOUR atv before sending it since it only takes a few minutes
Good video, thanks! Though you did not mention to make sure that no dirt fell into the intake throat on the engine, and I noticed you did not clean the crud out of the drain on the bottom of the air box.
Just wondering why not clean the old one sure there's nothing wrong with it .

What's that hose next to the throttle body on the new carb? You didn't explain that part. It's on my new carb also, but it's not on my old carb. I assume it's also a vent hose but can't find any definitive answer anywhere. Good video though.
That "electronic fuel cut off" is actually a carb heater, and if you're going to just rebuild your carb and not replace it with a new carb that comes with the heater, the two wires that are crimped to it are very easy to snap off.
What about the hose on the very bottom where does it go
You left out what cable was shown at 8:02 and that’s what I need to know that’s where my carb is leaking
Vent hoses are for accidental water
I hope you didn’t charge him extra for that air filter because I watched you squeeze the shit out of that air filter and broke it. I never had an air filter be that hard to come off. This is why I do my mechanic work.

What????? You fix a fuel leak by replacing the carburetor? Why didn't you just replace the whole engine?
These carbs are roughly $30. Mine started leaking from the overflow hose and filled my entire engine and exhaust with gas. Sure i took it apart and cleaned everything up and it works again just fine. But it's already failed once so who's to say when the next failure is. For $30 and half an hour if work, it's worth it to just throw a new one in for peace of mind. Just save your old one in case you need a back up.
I'd say just learn how they work, and fix your stock one. they are easy to fix
@@iamthecheese2737 never replace your factory carb with those Chinese garbage carbs. If it’s leaking gas take it apart and clean it. 9/10 times that fixes it.
