The Motion Boom is a great speaker that I will be keeping because of its value and sound quality, the size is manageable as well.
Thanks for the input. How are the highs on the Boom? I've read the speaker can be eq'd quite well. I like the smaller size of the Boom vs the Boom plus. It just seems too big for where I would mainly use it. So I'm really down to choosing between the Boom or the Motion +.
Dude, the Motion boom is a really good speaker, and the bass is honestly impressive. The highs are great because like you said, it can be EQ'd very well, this is true! I now have sold the boom to my friend and got the jbl charge 5, but I kind of miss the Motion boom!!
@joekirby8298 get the boom if you care about bass because it bumps good. If you want more compact speaker with crisp clear sound... the Motion + is good and it also has an AUX port.
Thanks again. My current speaker is an old Bose Soundlink II which I have had a long time and even replaced a battery but now it's dying. It has a good bass and crisp highs and fills the room but also sounds good at lower volume. I love that its smaller too. That's where my ears are at. I prob need to try the Boom.
I've had both, and the T9 sounds better with a bit of Eq. The Motion boom plus has quite harsh treble sometimes. The T11 sounds even better than the T9 and doesn't cost much more.
There is something wrong with the extreme. Those things are crazy loud. Ive always known about JBL but never bought any of their products until a few years ago. I first got some JBL headphones and they are great. The I got a Flip and an Extreme and used it for music at work(home construction). It would rock the site. 3 months ago I got a JBL soundbar with bluetooth sub and it is amazing! JBL has very top notch products.
I just finished commenting that this might be a mistrial because there was no demonstration to illustrate that the physical volume button on the JBL was turned up. I noticed with my new JBL speaker that when I connect via Bluetooth I have to ensure that I physically raise up the volume button on the JBL speaker. I have noticed some anomalies in the past where simply toggling in and out of the JBL speaker via Bluetooth would reset the JBL volume back to mid-level. I think JBL's are loud.
I've got the soundcore motion boom (I love my book so much, I use it mainly for netflix, UA-cam and music man) I adore it. But when I commute, I use my sound core P2 earphones, Q20 plus headphones & Q35 headphones (I carry them with me, especially since one of them may run out of juice so I switch between them three for commute music listening) but if I'm in the park or something from time to time I carry my motion boom with me and my friends to spice up the day or so. But I am considering the motion boom successor now 🤔 that investment tho is needed haha.
I just got my motion boom plus today wow it kicks I can’t believe the bass and power it’s loud perfect speaker for pool classes and it’s lite to carry just love it, good old Amazon 123.00 couldn’t pass on it. Soundcore is my go to speaker great value and great sound.

If you already have the JBL... just roll with it. It sounds great. But if you compare the sound of both, there is a clear difference in oundstage and clarity. The motion boom gives more details and clarity while and makes the X3 sound like it's covered up by a blanket. However, the X3 sounds really good when it's NOT being compared.
I love both my motion boom and soundcore motion b...I'll have to check out the motion boom plus. I wonder if it's possible to link the motion boom and the plus together through the tws/party cast button? On a side note I like your Marine stylized American flag in the background! o7

I have a boombox2 and it is louder with deeper bass. I have both and the motion boom plus is a great option if you don't want to spend a money. and yes it is louder That the extreme 3 but they are not equal speakers the extreme 3 is smaller and less power. I have one of those too and it doesn't a great job considering the size and yes the extreme 3 is extremely expensive. LOL 🤣
@@alanrossreviews I agree. The motion boom plus is a awesome speaker. I am enjoying both of these speakers. But that boom box just sounds so good. LOL 😉😁
and in that comparisson i think ch5 is better, motion boom is better, and motion boom plus is cheaper and really bass heavy, but i think the boombox 2 sounds more balanced.. the motion boom plus still needs other firmware... the upper bass is kind too much
I have been looking for a speaker to use with my projector for outside movie nights. The problem is it is hard to really test anything out in store. It isn't the same environment. Everyone told me to get JBL, a party box or the xtreme3. I wanted to keep it under $300. The xtreme3 is on sale for that right now but then I'm seeing great reviews for the SC Motion Boom Plus. Would this work well for a backyard movie night? I do prefer portable as we don't always have them at my house. My friend hosts a lot and doing one at my dad's soon. I just want to make sure it is loud enough and will sound good with the movies for about 20 people. Is this a safe bet?
@@arkangel06 Well, I wanted something portable because I take my screen and projector places. I suppose it isn't impossible to also cart around bookshelf speakers but not ideal. I did end up getting the Motion Boom Plus. It was adequate for our group size. Wouldn't be the best for a very large group though. Probably didn't help neighbors were blowing off fireworks everywhere that night. LOL
@@michelleskop7854 oh yeah, I assumed you were running power to the projector anyway. how do you like your motion boom plus? I just placed the order for one.
@@arkangel06 You're not wrong. LOL I do run power to the projector and my laptop for better performance. I'm just trying to minimize how much junk I have to haul with me. I like the speaker. It is good for our group size and awesome for the price (especially with the Prime deals today $143.). I was thinking of getting one more to connect together. But then again, I defeat my original purpose and I could have just used those bookshelf speakers you were talking about. However, I figure it would be more versatile because I can use them for my movies or take it places. I would have a lot of flexibility. As it is now, I enjoy sitting on my screen porch with it. I used to take my Amazon Tap out there with me but I like that this is more durable and able to get wet. My tap is very portable but it is more fragile and the battery doesn't last as long as I would like so it typically just sits on it's stand in the living room. And I know my concerns were about syncing it for movies (making sure mouths match the sound). I did connect a line directly from the laptop to the sound and everything was perfect. I will play with the bluetooth settings too and see if it is comparable. I just didn't want any complications or things going wrong in the middle of the movie (like losing the connection). So I do try and use the cables and connect to power when showing movies to minimize and tech issues from being wireless.
I tried and failed. Think either the tweeters are of inferior quality or the tuning of the crossover was not successful. The normal MB sounds downright audiophile compared to the MBP.
Thanks for this great video review. I know this is an old review, but the Motion Boom Plus is at a good discounted price, I had to get one to add to my Bluetooth speaker collection👍👍
I think the JBL sounds better, because the Motion Boom Plus's treble sounds a bit tinny, like a small speaker being pushed too hard. But for the price, it does still seem like a great value.
The Motion Boom Plus has that as a known issue with the HARSH treble. Reviewers that had a pre-release sample said it was not there with pre-release firmware but was introduced with 0.33. With 0.34 Soundcore did tame it some but they need to do a little more. Rumor is that 0.36 should address it again. I use a 3rd party Parametric EQ to tame it on mine and it works out rather well. The speaker doesn't have to sound that bad.
Soundcore released firmware 0.36 and the harsh treble is fixed. The Boom Box is still a better speaker and has TONS more bass especially at high volumes but ... the Motion Boom Plus is growing o me now.
I just picked up two on prime day. One today and one yesterday for 127 a piece. 2 speakers for about 250, half of the jbl boombox 3 regular price, currently on sale for 400. Can't wait to Try the first one out tomorrow. The second one is coming way later. Also got two M100 sll in one karaoke mics I'm going to hook up, for 63 bucks a piece. So for about 400 including one warranty on the mics, and one warranty on the speaker, imma be having a great time with friends and family, and throwing small spontaneous gigs. Just show up at a park and bust some chords. I'm so stoked, and spent way too much money on Amazon between the 4th of July and the 13th. But everything was worth it.
The problem with this guy is he doesn't actually have any audio knowledge. He just goes by what he perceives rather than actually testing them to give an informed and proven review. His reviews are all noise.
I love your energy, i can watch your videos even if i don't always buy speakers,i will say tho thanks to this video i bought the boom plus for $130 thank you.
I've been watching a LOT of comparison videos of Soundcore vs "enter expensive device name here" and the thing I've noticed the most is that the more "premium" devices have a TOUCH more of there price put into the look of there gadget. Soundcore doesn't focus as MUCH on looks and feel as their competitors, they still are awesome and my usual go to. While they flex their prettier unit, I deflate their ego with similar if not superior sound. Hop on this train before Anker inevitably increases their prices due to popularity. Lol
Im late to the party in 2024 but this sure helped me choose a fair priced Bluetooth speaker that will fit my needs! THanks for the side by side comparison!
What is the cheapest loudest speaker. I want something for my boat. I don't want to wire anything up because I leave it outside. My motor is loud. The soundcore is still a little pricey for what I want.
I'm a huge fan of Anker speakers. I own the Anker Soundcore Rave Mini, Soundcore Motion+, Soundcore Boost, Soundcore Life Q35, and the Soundcore Life Q10.
Tribit stormbox blast definitely beats boom plus in terms of sound quality. It is like 20 bucks more than the boom plus but it's definitely worth it. Though there's a 20% discount ( from a UA-cam channel) on the tribit so you could buy it like at $150.
Yes the soundcore sounds good but the plastic used is horrible quality. It feels brittle like it will break after 1 small drop. Tribit seems a better option then soundcore but I still would never hold a bet on it lasting forever
Also true story, I have said this in many other videos of soundcore but my friend has a motion boom regular version. He dropped it from about waist height. The thing has cracks in the plastic from the small impact. It was then no longer air tight either. They definitely are just made to sound good, not to be durable
@@Crow_1860 100%. I do believe JBL is overpriced however justifiable due to its nice sound and durable build quality. It also has lots of heritage from being a cinema speaker builder in the 1930s to a huge speaker company now. Whereas soundcore are taking the short cut in making their product sound louder than the competition but having little to no durability. Also the lack of waterproofing on the motion boom is unbelievable. The soundcore redit is full of people asking if it’s normal for the speaker to shut off in water.
My Extreme 2 that blew out the side when it fell off the table (dog bumped it) would beg to differ on quality... Might look more durable, but table height is about waste height and it became an expensive landfill item. I'd rather take my chances with 1 of these that sound better at half the price then overpriced JBL.
All I wanna know is the name of the track at 7:48 minutes man, please cause I'm getting the soundcore motion boom plus no doubt and when I do Imma play me that track. For real though. Keep it up brother!
it's a samsung feature. you can connect to multiple bluetooth speakers and switch through them or even play through both speakers simultaneously. if you have an apple device you can only switch speakers in the airplay menu in the control center. i think most devices have this feature tho, you just have to play around with your device's settings.
Pls can anyone help me? I have a problem with my jbl xtreme 3 GG version, the buttons are not working only start up button works. I can press the buttons but they are not reacting. I already tried restarting and factory restarting nothing works bcs the buttons won t work. Also i can t turn off the speaker i can only turn it on and conect to my phone. I can only turn off my speaker by pressing start up button 8times times and hold it for 10 secs. The speaker plays music and videos normally without problems. PLS I NEED HELP
You know I hate to say this but when I paired my charge 5 with my extreme three I think my charge 5 sounds the same again what's your opinion on it guys I mean I spent $379 for the extreme 3 and I'm not going to lie it was kind of disappointed I thought it would be louder just saying
JBL Got deeper bass but not as loud at least on DC mode both does loss a lot of bass at max volume which is one normal but the build quality on the soundcore is definitely going to crack when dropped from a height, how is the battery life ?
The battery life Is pretty good, just as the motion boom. I've had my motion boom plus for 3 days now and I've been taking It with me to work. I've just listened at like 50-60% volume for 5 hours a day and It still has about 60% Battery left. So for me It would most definitely last a week without charging.
Bro you need to try the rave neos by Soundcore by 2 of them and connect them together I’m telling you they will blow your mind on how loud and clear they sound

Why ??? The MBP has partycast to allow it to sync 100 speakers.
@@raywill9149 agree, 2 MBP are excellent in stereo and far superior.
So whats the wise choice ? Regardless the price.
I got one coming!! Can't wait to hear it in person!! Thanks for the video!! Keep booming 💥 🎶 🎵
"Imma gonna let the speakers speak for itself" - New Stuff TV.
Would be nice for Soundcore to sell a neoprene cover for the MB+ similar to what Soundblaster did for their Roar series of BT speakers....
That's a great idea! I would be 1st in line to buy one of those!
Looks like the Charge 5 is JBLs sweet spot.
Dats right ma boii 😊🤗 thanks let me enjoy this video ❗finally so freaking exciting love your videos bro
LOVE your ViDEO and STYLE ! and you make me laugh too 😂! subscribed to you Man 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶The motion boom + killed the JBL 3😂😂😂😂😂on Amazon right now and placing my order as its Black Friday sales 😊 Yeah baby 👍🕺🕺🕺🕺
love the video man !
would you recommend ditching my jbl extreme 3 for this tho ?
If you already have the JBL... just roll with it. It sounds great. But if you compare the sound of both, there is a clear difference in oundstage and clarity. The motion boom gives more details and clarity while and makes the X3 sound like it's covered up by a blanket. However, the X3 sounds really good when it's NOT being compared.
@@NewStuffTV1
thx man ! subbed !
grtz from belgium
No way, the tjingsbtoo bulky, ugly, and x3 has more features
I love both my motion boom and soundcore motion b...I'll have to check out the motion boom plus. I wonder if it's possible to link the motion boom and the plus together through the tws/party cast button?
On a side note I like your Marine stylized American flag in the background!

@@Schmidteren Right on. I'll try em. On a side note I just got the soundcore 3 and it's lackluster to say the least.
Do you get Left and Right channel, like genuine stereo sound?
Thanks man!
Been scouting for a replacement for my BigBlue after it died, and your reviews narrowed down my choices. 😊👍
Only speaker that might take the boom plus is the tribit stormbox blast
Awaiting a sound batlle between both!
@@petervdveenmuis flossy carter made one between the blast and boom plus the blast honestly sounds better in every way bass mids and highs
Recently got the JBL Boombox 2. I got before hearing of the MBP but it’s awesome.
The boombox is better don't worry, its just very expensive but worth it!
LOL 🤣
The boom box is better if the price is not an issue.
@@shaneberckman the boombox is not technically louder but it does have deeper bass at max volume.
@@alanrossreviews I agree. The motion boom plus is a awesome speaker. I am enjoying both of these speakers. But that boom box just sounds so good. LOL 😉😁
Motion plus = Charge 5
Motion boom = Xtreme 3
Motion boom plus = Boombox 2
exactly!
and in that comparisson i think ch5 is better, motion boom is better, and motion boom plus is cheaper and really bass heavy, but i think the boombox 2 sounds more balanced.. the motion boom plus still needs other firmware... the upper bass is kind too much
I have listened to both, and comparing the Motion Boom Plus to the JBL Boombox 2 is like comparing a bullet to a missile. Just stop... 😂
I'd rather just ran an extension cord and two bookshelf speakers
Excellent comparison vid..you made a hard decision turn real easy! I'm gonna order that Soundcore Boom+ Thank you!
Will you be reviewing the Anker 160 watt Rave Party Cast?
The Motion Boom Plus needs al lot of eq to tame the treble. But it can be done.
I tried and failed. Think either the tweeters are of inferior quality or the tuning of the crossover was not successful. The normal MB sounds downright audiophile compared to the MBP.
@@LaMartinaRoyal Yep it will never become highend. Partyspeaker.
@@LaMartinaRoyalmotion boom sounds muffled compared to boom plus
what do you think about the Beloit 20 versus the motion boom plus. I need advice for purchase decision
So what do you think? What is a better speaker? Jbl Xtreme 3 or soundcore motion boom plus?
Agreed, the jbl sounded a lot better. Much better clarity imo.
Soundcore released firmware 0.36 and the harsh treble is fixed. The Boom Box is still a better speaker and has TONS more bass especially at high volumes but ... the Motion Boom Plus is growing o me now.
Skip to 7:40 you can see he custom EQ the soundcore and boosted the Highs. thats why you can hear the treble more..
@@Anthony-ue4zm Yes, that certainly didn't help but the firmware issue was a real thing.
Nice review buddy , I got ta know , where did you get those audio print in your back wall ? The three ensemble prints with the rotatary controls . 😀
I just bought the X3 today I'm very happy with it.
Love your reviews bro u always give a 360 good review from top to bottom not like other youtubers your reviews are on point every freaking time❗💯💯💯
yeah those other youtubers stink 😭
Lol
Your s22 ultra phone looks so good. How did you get that finish
I get the price similarities of the 2 but the Soundcore Motion Boom+ should be compared sonically to the JBL Boombox.
The specs match closer to the Xtreme 3
@@NewStuffTV1 in that case, the Soundcore sounds miles louder! Great review bro. You've been popping up all week on my recommends. Subbed 👑👑

Thanks for the comparison with the music samples!
I'm a huge fan of Anker speakers. I own the Anker Soundcore Rave Mini, Soundcore Motion+, Soundcore Boost, Soundcore Life Q35, and the Soundcore Life Q10.
I hope you will compare motion boom plus against the Tribit Stormbox blast. It cost less than the soundcore, it seem to be a boombox2 killer
Tribit stormbox blast definitely beats boom plus in terms of sound quality. It is like 20 bucks more than the boom plus but it's definitely worth it.
Though there's a 20% discount ( from a UA-cam channel) on the tribit so you could buy it like at $150.
that review i wanna seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Flossy Carter has made a video on that speaker and compares them at the end.
Motion boom plus on sale ,this week only ,free shipping, eBay, or Amazon 135.00
The original Motion Boom is not dustproof like you said.
What is this cover on your S22 Ultra?
any info on when these will restock? because on all your links it says "sold-out"
the 350 i spent on xtreme 3 absolutely worth it. JBL speakers are built with quality
@@grandtheftgameryt When I looked at that speaker I knew the build was only focused on one thing.
What’s the app that you used to go back and forth between speakers
it's a samsung feature. you can connect to multiple bluetooth speakers and switch through them or even play through both speakers simultaneously.
if you have an apple device you can only switch speakers in the airplay menu in the control center.
i think most devices have this feature tho, you just have to play around with your device's settings.
You can't compare it with jbl xtreme since the size of the two speaker is already different. Why don't you do it with jbl boombox 3?
Because the size is similar to xtreme 3
Another excellent comparison!
I'm waiting for mine to arrive. Super excited to have purchased one! Thanks for the review.
Compare it to a boombox 2. That is going to be a bit more fair comparison
Your energy is infectious!
Lfm or what ever it's called can it got to 100 on the x3 what volume do I leave it at if I have lfm on low frequency something
I like how i payed more attention to the cool stuff in the background than the speakers themselves
Where do you get the skin for your phone? I think I might get this speaker.
I love that your Motion Boom also has scuffs on the grill! That sucker is my work speaker!
You know I hate to say this but when I paired my charge 5 with my extreme three I think my charge 5 sounds the same again what's your opinion on it guys I mean I spent $379 for the extreme 3 and I'm not going to lie it was kind of disappointed I thought it would be louder just saying
BRO~~ Please please link up 100 units of these babes
which do you think was louder? I didn't hear too well so I ask
Need to hear your opinion on the Tribit Stormbox vs the Motion Boom plus
Can you try to normalize the volume? It's distracting if you just try to listen to the difference between two speakers.
Thanks for spending money making these videos I wouldn't have known where to start on stuff outside earbuds.
Compare these with Tribit newer speaker 90W
How much watts is the motion boom sir?
I agree with you 100%! New king of the hill! Good video👍
So does this mean that the Tribit StormBox Blast is also better than the JBL XTREME, since it sounds better than the Soundcore?
Which one long battery life?
Can you make a comparison video about the zealot s78 and JBL extreme 3
I love how your clear and on point, no fluff! Great video. And that Anker is so crystal clear! Sweet .
Bro you need to try the rave neos by Soundcore by 2 of them and connect them together I’m telling you they will blow your mind on how loud and clear they sound
