  • After Euphie's death at the hands of Zero, Suzaku plans to take his revenge at the first battle for Tokyo. However, before the battle, he calls Lelouch and seeks his advice. The subsequent conversation is just bursting with barely restrained emotion, and then finally, it explodes (almost literally) into what is probably one of, if not THE most epic Lelouch moment.
    Episode 23 of season 1.
The song that plays at 1:55 is called Nightmare (a lot of people were asking).
I should clarify that this scene is probably tied for awesomeness with the following:
    Ending to season 1
    Ending to season 2
Lelouch vs Charles (I WON'T LET YOU CALL THAT A LIE!!)
some other shit i can't think of

Finally I can enjoy a evil laugh without it being awkward

People rather watch a revolution like Hunger Games where the main character is a passive poster-child instead of Code Geass where our hero is this awesome evil genius?

Love how Sasuke is talking about never wanting to kill someone out of anger

I wonder what C.C thought of Lelouch's laugh...?

This scene is in the top 3 for Code Geass, I'd say. Johnny Yong Bosch's performance was stellar. That laugh is... chilling, to say the least.

I think Lelouch always wanted it to be Suzaku who killed him. He never planned on dying, but I think there was something calming about his first and last friend being the one who ends his life.

This is absolutely the best scene for me as well. Suzaku and Lelouch both know exactly where they stand in the coming battle. So he takes the chance to talk to Suzaku as Lelouch one last time before he puts on the mask and fights him as Zero. I like how he immediately switches over to his Zero persona the second the call was done, incredible voice acting.

I kept track of the time... They kept it consistent with real time throughout. Very rare for most TV series, but then Code Geass is not 'most TV series.'

Seriously Code Geass' writing and directing, animation, music, etc., is so fucking superb.
I mean, they just had an emotional (and probably tense, with both of them having suspicions of each other) conversation, and then
    *QUEUE EPIC MUSIC AND EXPLOSIONS*
You know the shit is going to hit HARD, and you know how fucking fun it will be just watching it unroll!
And at the end of this scene, Lelouch says the same words at the end of the first episode "Now then!" with the same face. Just awesome <3

Remember the last words of Episode 1: "Well then."

for all their similarities, this is one of the things that's different between Lelouch and Light: Lelouch

I'm nearly positive Suzaku knew Lelouch was Zero at this moment. He called him from Euphy's phone. Which means she had his contact number. And this scene also takes place after that episode where Euphy, Lelouch, Suzaku, and Kallen were all stranded on that island. I think Suzaku pieced it together but just didn't want to acknowledge it yet. And Lelouch probably knew he was suspicious which is why he all but reveals himself at

The ending makes a lot more sense if you pay attention to his closing monologue.
