Its cool too see Perry talk about Dave like he was, he got so childlike. I love this guy and never realized how much I missed him till you see him again.
Oh Perry......... you have ears. Tell me this.....what's the best song you ever wrote? Answer : ALL OF THEM. Psi Com to Kind Heaven Orchestra. Jane's Addiction, though, is the place where your soul sleeps and breathes and crys while laughing. All of you. You guys have endured together. You don't ever dare walk away from that kind of voodoo magik. You guys may grow and change as people do, but the Universe brought you into sync with each other for a reason. I truly believe that journey will continue into the next life, Brother. I love you guys so much, I guess I'm on that journey with you. I can't wait until November to see you guys in S.F., Good night, Perry........Sweet Dreams. ❣
Jane's Addiction is one of the greatest groups of all time, so disappointed Eric Avery left Jane's a 2nd time, these Guys need to patch things up & make some new music
@@bilbobaggins4710 Lol Mike... you might not like him but the fact that you says he sucks tells me you know nothing about the instrument, recording or music for that matter.
jumped the gun. Eric wanted no part of the glam. Only one out of the entire band that chose to keep that aspect of his life real. Glad I shot one of their last performances together :)
Perry has been full of crap for way too long. Jane's Addiction should be a TEAM. FOUR (4) Equals. But it will always be Perry first, wanting Dave, Stephen, and Eric following him. Eric is right to stay out. Its too bad. Perry will never wake up. LSD (lead singer disease)
Love Janes Addiction & Perry Farrel, but WTF is with this lame ass push to see a so-so interview by calling it "PERRY FARREL GETS SHOCKED!" ? Bad advertising, which UA-cam is famous for... Gotta say, tho- this kinda bullshit false advertising is why Rolling Stone Magazine is going extinct... And I cant say I will miss them. They've been glorified toilet paper (to me) since 1998...
What a weird cat. You cant argue with Jane's Addiction's music though. The weird is a good thing here. The whole band together, with Avery too. I got nostalgic with Veruca Salt, Jane's back together dwarfs that. I hope these guys make a record, it will undoubtedly be beyond epic.
Eric and Perry are both geniuses its a pity they couldn't work things out for the greater good. As they know we only get one chance at this life. Its detrimental for the fans more than anything. A new album with him could have been a real eye opener in view of Eric's solo work. Taking nothing away from any of these gentlemen I feel a bit gutted as a fan, but still welcome Mr McKagan.
So Eric's left , again ! and Chris Chaney is back on bass. Heard some tracks off the new album , wow ! it's mighty fantastic ( Dave sitek on bass on LP) cant wait to get my hands on that one.
He looks good considering all the drugs he has done. You know rock stars like Robert Plant faces are like road maps. He so sweet it's like he has a childlike innocence about him even though his life experiences speak otherwise. Poor man's mother committed suicide when he was only 3. That's hard on a child and even a adult. It's good to see he has such a wonderful outlook in life and hasn't let things in his life make him bitter.
So what Eric out and McKagan in for the new album? My ultimate sub was the Flea but that fizzled out in the late 90's. Have to say though, McKagan is the closest bass player out there to Eric, playing wise. When is the new album due?

how did people enjoy music b4 jane's addiction formed. all those acts in the 50's 60's 70's etc never figured out to play a concert? thank god for jane's yeah?
I never understood why the original lineup fell into disarray, people go separate ways, but when they were in control of the world of music it was like they shrugged and dropped it, like the power was too intoxicating.

ian asturbury had him beat with gathering of the tribes. glastonbury and reading started in the 70's. not massively groundbreaking to look at those and decide to do a touring version of it.
Perry is 54 years old. So in 1990 when he was 31 does that mean that the other guys were 11 years old? No. Right now Stephen Perkins is 45, Dave Navarro is 46 and Eric Avery is 48.
DiStefano and Navarro are completely different guitar players. Both are great, although I'd say Navarro is probably better. However, DiStefano doesn't come from the metal/goth background Dave comes from. Sure, they share the Bauhaus influence, but Pete and Dave split apart sound-wise from there.
I remember seeing JA open for Iggy Pop in the late eighties. Iggy was on a straight edge kick. A show or two later he threw them off the tour. In all actuality they blew him off the stage. I'm a huge Iggy fan, but that tour set the tone for the music of the 90's.
AMEN I THINK THAT THERE S NO JANES WITHOUT ERIC AVERY I WOULD HAVE RATHER HAD ERIC STAY IN THE BAND AND PETER DISTAFANO REPLACE DAVE NAVARRO LOVE,WILLIAM "THE JOKER"
oh I'm sorry, did he stop being a kickass guitarist that still puts on great shows for his fans every night? No, he still does that, and hell, he's so badass how can he not be into himself?
I was 32 yrs old living in San Antonio, TX in 2009 and drove to Austin with my English gf at the time who is 8 yrs younger than me to see NIN and Janes'. She didn't know what to expect when she saw this man turn to a kid from the 90s' singing from the top of my lungs to music she had never listened to. Her accent won many hearts that night. Too bad she turned into a c u next Tuesday. You still make me laugh Kate ;p Greetings from Ft. Lauderdale.
Nothing shocking and ritual De la habitual are two great rock albums no question. But in all honesty I wish Perry never reformed Jane's as they never bettered those lofty heights. Just do more solo stuff, as he has only done one solo album apart from pornos and the pornos album was 1997? I heard a few new songs of his new album, he shouldn't have bothered.
while i would not resort to calling dave names or anything like that, i will say i agree that he is obsessed with himself. he is one of those people that tries hard to sound intelligent using words like, 'compelling' and 'ambiguous' when talking about very normal, average things like walking a dog. it comes across as pompous and he just overall seems uncomfortable in his skin. all of which has nothing to do with how great of a guitar player he is, so not sure why you think it relates.
Biltospill Um...wtf? First of all, show me a rock star that is not obsessed with himself or herself? I hate to break it to you, but it comes with the job description. Second, here’s some advice...invest in a dictionary if words like “compelling” and “ambiguous “ are too complicated for you as part of everyday communication. lol
Where the heck did that come from? Eric was their sound man. He was the lead on bass. Everyone followed. Perry is an egomaniac. Should have patched things up with Eric, if he was really doing what was best for the band. IMO, Eric grew up and out of JA.
I'm not sure if Perry recieves the recognition he deserves for his unique vocal abilities and sound.
He doesn't
Its cool too see Perry talk about Dave like he was, he got so childlike.

Still one of my favorite bands out there. A cool blend of Led Zeppelin, Stones, and the Velvet Underground. But, Jane’s is more amazing than that.
@newdawnfades1990 Very true. I'd also love to hear them do a record with Martyn Lenoble on bass.

Yep, the difference was 20-24 yr old's dealing with a guy in his early 30's. Just a single generation gap.
