The song was a masterpiece and so difficult to do live they did not do it. And it was one of their favorites. Stunning melody, extraordinary transitions and great production. My favorite.
Kevin, I heard an interview with Moe one time that there was 26 layers of Harmony in this song. That's what made it so difficult to sing in concert. You're absolutely right it is a masterpiece.

This song interchange Barry and Robin's voice, both of them do the high notes! Maurice once said that his favorite part is the phrase "Fanny be tender, with my love..." because he could hear them both singing like one single voice, sometimes a little bit more of Barry, sometimes a little bit more of Robin, but they sound unison. You'll only notice Robin's voice all the time at the last part of the song when Barry is screaming at the backtrack. Absolutely masterpiece!
They lacked the guts to sing it live because it was so synthetic ..strange as its easy to sing solo not necessary to attempt what is a studio machine sound ..they should've sang it ..
He singing with his full chest. So good. They did not realize until after recording for years that he could even do the falsetto then Robin followed and then Maurice. Beautiful men. This was from 75 before the Disco period. They all sounded so much like one another it was hard to tell them apart. Barry was doing it, as was Robin AND Maurice. Barry and Robin were the main ones who did it, they would switch out ;)
It's terrific that younger generations are discovering the Bee Gees. When they're on the radio, they literally take over those moments and it's so easy to be immersed in the song.
Yes! Fanny was actually the name of the housekeeper they employed when they went to Florida to write songs. Originally it was just "SO be tender/with my love". Maurice felt it needed to have the woman's name and the housekeeper happened to be there that day.
So glad young people are finally discovering one of the group's best songs. One that displays their incredible harmonies and falsettos. Main Course is one of their best albums. I played this to death back in '75.
This is my least favorite Bee Gees song. I never liked it when I was a kid and to this day I still don't like it. It's the key change I don't like and I don't like the vocals during the new key, and I especially don't like the vocals prior to the key change
I would say that falsetto is Barry, i'm quite sure. He double tracked his voice in this song; singing the main part and adding some high notes at certain points. Robin and Maurice do mostly backing vocals. Anyway, its awesome.
@@lucyatlas1257 Nobody is doubting that Robin can sing falsetto, but it was Barry being double-tracked in the really high parts of this song (not the chorus and verses, where Barry and Robin sing together). Fun Fact: This song is actually the very first song that the Bee Gees wrote specifically with Barry's falsetto voice in mind. You should give Nights on Broadway a listen. That is the song where Barry discovered that he can sing in falsetto. Which led to them writing this song.
It breaks my heart to see Barry alone. I’m so proud of his new album but the twins absence is still palpable. Andy was my preteen crush. Their music is the soundtrack to my youth. Thank you for reacting and your kind words.

You know Dani, To watch these guys sing is so amazing, I was a disco 20 year old. Through out the 60's & 70's when I was growing up it was the most amazing time to listen to the best music! Today we have evolved from bands to dancing on stage which is sad, bands showed us the instruments where the music was coming from and how talented these guys had and the energy they would put on the stage. There are so many great singers these day but it's sad to hear digital music and no attachment to the talented musicians!
Thank you Dani, for a great reaction video of fanny be tender from the bee gees. You know what amazes me is with the many of hits the bee gees have performed over the decades you think I should of or would of remembered this song and it slipped my mind thank you for a flashback to the time warp so to speak. Great job 👍 . Keep up the good work . Can't wait to see what music videos reactions you still have forthcoming you're awesome. Bye for now Bob

i believe he tries to involve his nephews and nieces in his music so maybe not all is lost ...... in terms of harmonies, Alone is probably their most amazing song
Thank you for the reaction video and your sincerity. Yes, soooo much positive energy happening! Quincy Jones is on the record as saying this is one of the greatest soul songs ever written and it's difficult to question the great man's judgement. Watch the doco as Barry talks about the significance of not having his brothers in this world with him anymore.
They all have a huge vocal range, sometimes when Barry and Robin sing together it can sound like another voice altogether, it’s amazing. You can hear it here and in Staying Alive and How deep is your love as well. Beautiful song!! Wonderful group!!
I wish I could properly convey to young people what it felt like to hear this in 1975. Arguably, one of the greatest pieces of music for harmony ever recorded. If you can't fall in love with someone now, play ALL the Bee Gees material. You will be so glad you did.
Hey Dani, another excellent reaction. I really like your perspective on things. Thanks for doing this beautiful song. If you react to 'Nights on Broadway' live on the Midnight Special Show 1975, you'll see that Maurice is singing the falsetto part. It's incredible how talented they all are. Each one of them could do the falsetto if need be, but Barry was the best and most versatile at it. Barry could do it all.
Barry did the falsetto on the recording of this song, but when doing it live and Barry is using his lower voice, Maurice and Robin do the falcetto. They all can do falsetto, Barry can maintain that high pitch longest and most consistently, so can sing falsetto lead. Barry often describes their sound as Barry and Robin singing in unison as one "voice" with Maurice filling in harmony, sometimes falsetto... sometimes middle voice where needed. In some songs you hear the lead and are hearing snatches of Barry and then Robin... they both are singing together
My favorite song!! Love the Bee Gees! Funny thing is most people think it's one person singing alot of the time when it's actually 2 or all 3 of them!! Incredible
I loved the Bee Gees, greatest band ever bar none. But Robin was my favorite, his voice is so unique and beautiful,. Robin was so very sexy and good looking. I miss him a lot, and Maurice, and youngest brother Andy. May they all RIP. Sir Barry, thank you for continuing the music

You know Dani, To watch these guys sing is so amazing, I was a disco 20 year old. Through out the 60's & 70's when I was growing up it was the most amazing time to listen to the best music! Today we have evolved from bands to dancing on stage which is sad, bands showed us the instruments where the music was coming from and how talented these guys had
and the energy they would put on the stage. There are so many great singers these day but it's sad to hear digital music and no attachment to the talented musicians!
One of my favourite song..
Such a beautiful song ♥️♥️♥️💯💯🥰🥰🥰
Bee gees was a big part of me and my brothers sisters lives as teenagers we lived in germany (army brats) we ware this album out main course l especially love country lanes and songbird Bee gees is one of the greatest bands ever
is it true that fanny was their Nanny ? And thats who they're singing about. Fanny, nanny hummm....
I’m a rock guy,
But, The Bee Gees and ABBA tend to snag my heart and this is my favorite Bee Gees song👍
i believe he tries to involve his nephews and nieces in his music so maybe not all is lost ...... in terms of harmonies, Alone is probably their most amazing song
Just when you think that they hit the crescendo, they take it up another level
Exactly! Never know what’s coming next!
Ha! Yes, Barry knows how to put that punctuation on a lick!
The youngest was also a superstar on his own, Andy Gibb, and he died first at 30 I believe
Great reaction again 🙂Waiting for your reaction to "Words" by the Bee Gees!
Dani, Spot on reaction, the Bee Gees are amazing. This masterpiece is beautifully arranged and performed.
You are beautiful. Only someone precious like you could feel the true meaning of a great song by the masters, the Bee Gees.

Yes. The point is that any of the three can do the falsetto well. That's rare.
My favorite song!! Love the Bee Gees! Funny thing is most people think it's one person singing alot of the time when it's actually 2 or all 3 of them!! Incredible
I'm so glad you got to react to this song. It's one of the Bee Gees very best disco ballads.
All 3 brothers were amazing. Thanks for this. You are keeping me in a great mood.
They were unbelievable, try getting on stage with any other two guys and try what they did. Lol. Then youll appreciate their talent
Please react to "Love so right " ; "Love you inside out " by Bee Gees! Thanks for the reaction!
