don;t know why everyone is hating on this in the comment. If your not mechanically inclined and can't figure out how to remove bolts from a pulley you probably should not be attempting to do a timing belt job. the video was clear on the steps to take.
This would be even better if you replaced the water pump and the front crankshaft seal on the '93-'97 Corolla. There are plenty of them still on the road. The only ones I see in the wrecking yard have been destroyed in a collision or burned to the ground.
Very good instructional video , only thing I would do is set tdc before I start the job turn the 17mm bolt clockwise and make sure the timing is correct on the crankshaft and cam shaft then being this process and you should be golden just need a little knowledge and the right set of tools 🧰
FrankHurtAuto, how do you remove the Crank (4:56) out when it can't be budged, want to replace the Crankshaft's O-Ring and well as the Cam's O-Ring (4:50)? If you already set it for TDC with the Spark Plug #1 (highest peak), Cam's Hole pointed dead on Engine's Grove and Crankshaft Pulley's marking aimed to Zero of Lower Timing Cover. And nothing has move, then those three marking (4:49 & 4:56) on the Timing Belt are not necessary, right?
I had to drill pilot holes in the crank pulley. Then I used self tapping bolts and pulled with a rental tool. No other puller could do it. BE SURE TO DO THIS WITH THE OLD TIMING BELT STILL ATTACHED. You could lose timing at the crank.
FrankHurtAuto /or anyone, can you run the car without the 3 Timing Belt Covers? Meaning how important of having the covers on? Many cars I have seen have no timing belt covers.
FrankHurtAuto, why didn't you record that? If you are planning doing to teach & help people, don't always think that they are you. So those steps down to even simple to you but will surly be hard for other looking for help. Kinda, like if I give you a cooking recipes and not showing/teaching, change will be nill for u. If I just tell you how to do surgery, you would have no ideals on how to cut & perform.
Wow whoever made this really made it well, never had an easier time doing a timing belt!

@@FrankHurtAuto Yeah really!! Better with an oil change! before a t-belt!

At 4.03 it shows how to remove mount.

Lol, I love that you said "Wait, did I get that wrong?" in the first 30 seconds :p
Excellent detail, thanks
FINALLY!
An useful informative video👍🏼👍🏼 got thumbs up and a subscription from me dude
Good video! When would I change the water pump when doing my timing belt before during or after?? Thanks guys!
why NO deets on removing that high-torqued crankPulley bolt?? it just magically comes off on this?
Hi mate.
Video for 4efe?
Thanks in advance
I dont mark the new belt i always rotate the engine whit a socket before starting it up jyst to make sure its on place.
Im pretty sure i heard and now you can take the timing belt off 3 times? Or do i need to go have a nap and watch again?
How do you remove the gear in the pulley after removing the timing belt? I need to replace the crankshaft seal but the gear is hard to remove

Many cars I have seen have no timing belt covers.
angelisone the cover prevents anything from road getting stuck between belt and sprockets. The car will run, but it’s not a good idea.
What does the E and the U stand for on the cam? I used the E mark, but my timing will not line up when I rotate
it is supposed to be aligned up with "K" mark, basically the knock pin on the camshaft should be at 12 O' clock.
FrankHurtAuto no K on mine, only an E & U
0:21 That's the cruise control.
I didnt see him line up the crank pulley notch with the zero on the guard
Renee Harewood try watching 2:40
How often should the belt be changed?
recommended at 96,000 KM, but have seen last well over 150,000 KM
@@FrankHurtAuto the car i bought says it was changed at 122km but now its reading 307km thats why i am here. Thank you
My reffcounter is going up and down after setting TIMMING
Reff up your engines!
2:28 me in call of duty
Question, my timing belt is wet with oil is that normal?
If there is oil, your cam or crank seal might be leaking. Replace when the belt is off
@@Mani_Grewal awesome!
Just all pointing. Anyone can do that.
Say & show (why no recording) us how to remove the 4 bolts on the Water Pump (0:57) would have been nice.
Leave the drive belt on and use a box end wrench to remove the four bolts
