- I've always loved the idea of Cahara and D'Arce's friendship, they're just 2 people who plunged into the darkness of the dungeons for their love...

Cahara, at least in his best ending, does actually find enough treasures to live the rest of his life in comfort, and flees the dungeon.
Though he manages to free his wife from prostitution, he remains paranoid and scarred from the dungeon, as seen in the ending art.

Most of the endings are canon (both Legarde and the girl ascent). However, we don't know which character got the fate of which ending.
I really like how most of the fanart shows D'arce becoming basically the kid's fortified mom
I only play D'arce and always save the girl, as well as imagining D'arce as caring mother 😌
Motherly instinct, to protect and nurture, usually comes from women
I like how Cahara is the only "normal" dude in the middle of insane larger than life people, he's just trying to survive and not in there for honor, revenge or prophecy. Him being the "most canon" character to help the girl fullfil her fate while being the regular guy in the dungeon is a great touch.
Also given Cahara's backstory of childhood abandonment, he probably both relates the most to the girl's plight and is the most intimately acquainted with the concepts of fear and hunger she comes to embody. Cahara's spent his whole life struggling for survival against his own fear and hunger and he gets crushed by it in the end, with his sacrifice allowing for Her godhood to begin and change the world
And right after you leave the area:
"The mercenary Cahara seems to have left your party without you noticing it.
You are missing some Silver coins!
They must have been stolen!"

Great poetry.
Tragically, we can assume Cahara was the one who took the girl to become the God of Fear & Hunger since it's present in the sequel. With Ragnavldr, Enki and D'arce (in a sense) had concrete influence across the sequel game.
Ragnavldr with August as a descendant who slays evil and which is why the world hasn't been steamrolled.
Enki with his Flesh Bibles insinuating he achieved Enlightenment.
And D'arce with Le'garde's (now Kaiser) presence in the sequel.
That leaves Cahara whom allowed the girl to ascend to the God of Fear and Hunger which by the way, led to an age where humanity advanced greatly in terms of technology stated in the ending.
You can headcannon that a 5th person took the girl down but yeah Cahara's non-world-changing s-ending does say a lot
The one thing that I’m happy about in the ending is that ragnaldr canonically tames moonless and moonless becomes the family dog. She truly is the best girl
I can’t imagine sleeping in a set of plate armor would be very comfortable
With the amount of time it takes to put on and take off, I'm not risking being caught without my armor when a guard or crow decides to wake me up.
Definitely more comfortable than being exposed to any of the horrors within those walls unarmored.
....Then Cahara was acknowledged by a God and D'arce brought her long-lost love back to life! Yay for happy endings!
And Cahara had a fun ride with that God to whatever knows where Souls go to.

So if Cahara would be alone, then he would be fine, rich, and return home sligtly damaged and with future problems due to dungeon being still the same, but he would have happy ending.

It's just so fucking cruel that the only one of the four who still has people waiting for him was the only one who never escaped the dungeon. D'arce is only in it for L'egarde, she would have hapily stayed in the dungeon to be with him; Enki for "enlightenment", and nothing else; Ragnavaldr for revenge, he didn't really care if he lived or died in that dungeon, he just wanted to avenge his family, he even went on to hunt all the monsters to extinction once he got out... but Cahara only wanted the money, so he can go home and free his pregnant wife from the brothel.

And it is heavily implied that Cahara is the one who take the girl to be transformed into God of fear and hunger
The only solace is that he was granted a peaceful death and didn't have to suffer in the Cruel Age.
Technically all endings are canon. So he could have left, but even if he did he’d be permanently scarred in ways the other characters seem less affected by.

And then they went home, Cahara adopts the girl, D'arce becomes a sort of aunt figure and guardian to his family. And nothing else happens.
Ragnvalder wipes out the monsters with Moonless and Enki makes his books. Nothing bad happens, everyone lives. No family man becomes and unknown part of the rise of a New God to rival the Old Gods. A happy ending.
Good girl Moonless goes to live with Ragnavaldr and everyone is happy forever :D

This conversation is especially sad when you realize Cahara is canonically the best in-universe candidate for being the one sacrificed to bring around the God of Fear and Hunger.

@@ElGilbol Not really, it's alluded to that specific endings happened canonically in Fear and Hunger 2. Le'garde being alive hints at Darce's S-Ending to being canon, and August is heavily implied to be a descendent of Ragnvaldr. Enki's bibles from his S-Ending are in Fear and Hunger 2 as well.
Cahara is the only character who has no influence on the sequel, it's *possible* that someone else managed to bring about TGOFAH, but Cahara is the best candidate since he's the only other person in the events of the first game that could've done it.

I think the point is that each ending can be canon, but it depends on what endings they got. So termina would exist within each continuity without breaking it

Because I'm pretty sure the Kaiser is in F&H2 and the Kaiser is Le'garde in his new god form, and the Kaiser/Yellow King does not look like the skinless Le'garde that D'arce manages to resurrect. So I'm skeptic about D'arce's S-Ending being canon too.
That very likely isn't the case. In the c ending you kill Yellow King. Even if he did survive the encounter, I doubt Le'garde wouldn't last that long as a New God to make it to Termina without retiring like the rest anyway. It's more likely the the skinless Le'garde is the one that we see, either the skin put on was merely a disguise or him being without skin wasn't permanent. Not to mention in the Kaiser fight, when he reaches low health he LITERALLY loses his skin.
I could imagine D'arce thinking "this scoundrel is MARRIED while I'm still a virgin??!"

basicly in the game you have the choice to play as one of 4 playable characters who all have different reasons to come to the dungeon. Cahara is a mercernary who came here as a job to find a man name le'garde presumably trapped their and report on his statues, while d'arce is here because she wants to rescue him. granted you take too much in game time in the dungeons, le'garde will be dead when you find him.

Unfortunately I think he didn't survive since the girl became God of fear and hunger while legard was alive in fear and hunger 2. I believe Chara was the one who took the girl because he can unlock doors and cages and I find this most realistic in my opinion since most of other characters are alive like the dark priest wrote that book which you could find in the part 2 of the game and the the knight girl probably maybe brought back legard alive in her own ending and the only one left is that that the hunter dude who killed many many monster in the land and in the dark continent

Cahara is best boy, dude fell in love with a prostitute that got pregnant and taking captive and went into the dungeons to save her and provide for their kid (even if its very likely that she wasnt even pregnant with his kid.) only to be the only MC not to get out of the dungeons alive.
And he did it all for a child he barely knew, to comfort them in their moments of painful transformation...he refused to abandon a little girl who was destined to suffer alone cold scared and hungry, and died slowly by their side as this kid becomes a literal god. Cahara is a goated character.

But sadly her honor was torn, between love and her promise her heart was too torn to let fate separate. The priest with sights on accending not decived by lies of grandire, found home enlightened with knowledge of ancent and lost. The outlander with a heart of sorrow sought revenge to ammend yet found it not, for he found a way to make peace with the arrange and through blood and steel become a man of praise. And finally a man who struggled in life, a man who traved to see the sights and sounds before finding a love he promised to hold for life, but with a twist of fate and offer better left alone these 4 fated chosen made there way below, for answers, love, revenge and wealth. Yet only 1 was fated to stay below there story unsung and fate unknown as life above begins its great advance under the gaze of an unknown being yet known feelings of fear and hunger.

Cahara is the only one who didn't for sure survive. People often consider it canon that he didn't survive because SOMEONE had to take the girl to the depths, and it could not have been the other 3. Taking the girl to the depths = death, so they rule him as dead.
With that said, Miro said all endings are canon, including Cahara S, so figure that one out. Eh.

No, impossible. Even for manga there's heavy censorship, they'd take a lot of what makes it so horrifying and special out. Maybe as an independently- published graphic novel, since Orange(the dev) is a graphic artist mainly amd a writer second.

My man, in a dungeon where Crow Mauller can attack you while you sleep would you really sleep without an armor? It may be unconfortable but i rather do that than die
Bad things happen in that place. I wouldn't sleep without full plate armor, holy water, a glock under the pillow, and a chastity belt.
In the medieval times knights would be hold up sometimes for months in their armor it's why some armor had piss ports in the front and usually why there wasn't full plate on the back of the ass so if they had to shit they could. Most of the time though they would just have a full breast and abdominal plate with extensions that cover the hips and upper groin area. Also spauldrons, gauntlets and vambraces to fully cover the arms. And usually patterned gambison shirts and pants along with chainmail to protect their legs and other bits where the plate can't overlap.

Something interesting to note is that the sword Cahara holds in his S ending looks the same as the Sabbath sword, which was made in the 1700s by “the Vatican City.” Funger 2 takes place in the 1940s approximately 300 years after the first game, meaning the first game takes place at the earliest 1640
in dungeon nights, there is this sign that says "prom 1590" im not sure if dungeon nights its located in the exact same time, but it surely do. and i think that many books in the game says dates, but i dont remember what do it says xd i only remember about dungeon nights cause i was just playing it lol
you actually know the year in which the game takes place, it's 1590 and you can notice this thanks to all the books mentioning the years and thanks to the secret tomb spot when you fall into the witches trap since the gravestone says the year of birth (different for each character) and the year of death (same for everyone since it's the date they adventured into the dungeon which is 1590)

They took too long which honestly understandable even with my knowledge of the dungeon it really is a challenge to get there but to save time take the tree way behind the bookshelf but might be slightly harder because dogs, mumblers, and all the enemies near Le'gard
no, your right the tree is the fastest way down. the dogs are the hard part, the mumblers are easy to get around.

@@Rahnonymous in the canon 1 of the 4 had to make the girl the god of fear and hunger. Taking in account that:
-Ragnavaldr canonically killed all the monsters of the dungeon, and had his own blood linage (August)
-Enki got the knowledge of the gods and returned to write the Skin bibles.
-D'Arce had to resurrect L'Garde due Termina linetime.
I think is obvious who is left.

Ohohoh, I already imagined some Ragna/Jin fighting from Blazblue: Calamity Trigger opening, but instead it's Ragnvalrd/Le'Garde, and the other arc where Cahara and D'Arce are looking after girl, but got separated so D'Arce helps Le'Garde and Ragnvalrd get's separated from them... Well there's a lot of stuff to write down XD

Give "Ranking of Kings" a chance. Don't let the art style and soft opening fool you! while not as dark as F&H overall; there are some unforgivably brutal moments! and surprisingly horrific imagery! Edit: Also; "Goblin Slayer" If you've never seen it! Especially the "Goblin's Crown" movie!, besides "Berserk" these are the best two dark fantasy anime with a F&H vibe I've seen.

really sad fact: Cahara is the only one who actually dies by the end of Fear and Hunger, and he died alone.
to elaborate more, he died fighting the goddess of fear and hunger, Darcy probably lived a little more years serving the yellow king, Ragnvalder managed to escape and become a legendary hunter and Enki become an almost god

Too bad Cahara is the only one who by Termina's canon couldnt have gotten out.
My (head)canon ending is he somehow pulled himself out of that hole and made his way back to the city. against all odds, against all logic, against the new gods and old ones alike, and against the plot itself he still survived, just because he has the willpower to continue.

@@AmonDevilman Sadly not possible. D'Arce had to escape/stay alive in order to resurrect Le'garde. It's also (kinda?)canon that the god of fear and hunger killed Cahara as a mercy so that he wouldn't have to face the Cruel Age she had in mind.
@@stickmaster400you know what? My canon is this: he does die, but he shows kindness and fatherhood to the girl. When she ascends, she leaves another mercy for him: Celeste finds, somehow, that she never runs out of money. She doesn't know where it comes from, but she keeps finding jewels that she resells and saves until she buys her own house, and a little business by the side. Her, and Cahara's child, live the rest of their days in peace and satiety, the new god refusing to let its influence ever touch them.
Well, we know how this all turns out
