European here, I have a 2020 CB500X and I have had much bigger bikes here in Europe. The bike is possibly the best ever all round bike I have ever owned. 10000KM in November last year to Morocco and back, did not miss a beat, and I could pick it up on my own off road in the mountains. Nice video, in reality the NX is the same as before, just a bit of hyping up by the media, I would like the new Display though... Namaste from Ireland
Namaste from India
Namaste from India! Thanks for writing in. Appreciate the comment
I was in India in January and February for the twelfth time, great country.
Namaste friend..wishing you great ride days ahead
yes it is expensive, but if you compare there are no twin cylinder tourer at this price point, I purchased this because whatever it has its top quality...and man the exhaust note :)
Thanks for sharing! Fair enough
2min silence for you bro😔
There's trk502 which is much more comfortable yet heavy but feels planted though..you can listen to it's 360 degree crank symphony all day long
@@user-qq5kv2oq6xit felt very big for me and beneli service cost is very high
@@user-qq5kv2oq6x what about quality, unavailability of test ride vehicles and poor ASS
It’s 2X the Himalayan price because it’s 5X better than the Himalayan. RE and Honda cannot be spoken of in the same breath. Once you own a Honda SBK or an ADV you realise why they cost what they cost. After 10,000kms a Honda has just warmed up whereas the RE has become an old diesel generator by then.
Honda❤
We agree but the problem is cost! It is a problem! Spending close to 7 lac OTR is no joke for someone who is looking at a motorcycle in this segment
Comparing prices of a CBU twin vs a locally manufactured RE /KTM single is not fair.
fyi for 7 lakh z650 is better than this
@@powerdriftofficialare you agreeing on the point that RE becomes a old generator after 10k kms , where on earth this guy is leaving in . Probably the earth named Honda 😂😂😂
price is too much for someone who will change bikes too often, but if this is your bike for the next 10 years / 1lakh km, there's no comparison between KTM and RE, Honda all day and everyday
Absolutely right. But its still too expensive today
All that price ( 7.5 lakhs on road bangalore) is just trailer when u see price for accessories. Phew! Booked! Bike on the way! 😅
We saw that.
Carbon racing and old custom school have some economical options
@@arpitdiwedi4855 zana coming with some options too tomorrow on their site!
The best fit for Indian market is a 300-350cc adv bike with 32-35kmpl mileage with around 35 to 40 ps of power, 33-35 nm torque, and pricing around 2.5 to 2.8 lakhs. top speed around 145 ,with sweet spot at 80-100kmph. 165kg weight. just another dream?????????????
The way the comment ended :P
300cc adv with 30+nm torque? xD
@@user-qq5kv2oq6x why not bro? Bmw g310 engine can produce 28NM. And anyhow this is an approx estimation, not exact values
stop mixing your fantasy with countries need man XD 80 to 100 is too slow for current generation of highways and express ways.
@@SidShetty bro most express ways baning entry of bikes.
Comparing a single cylinder Himalayan or KTM with a twin cylinder Honda? Tch Tch.
When it comes to buying a Honda, you pay extra upfront but get peace of mind for many years in return. It's built like a tank. So many CB500 I know that have done 1 Lakh kms! The other two will make you keep spending money in installments and won't last as long.
BTW, despite getting more kit, tech, losing weight and a bigger size (it looks quite big in person) it is cheaper by over a lakh compared to the earlier CB500.
Bro proud 2019 himalayan bs6 owner with 2lkh and not a single work done on engine rather than regular service.
We have to, based on cubic capacity. We completely agree on the forever image that the 500 is known for.
Been 2000kms on NX500, nothing short of amazing.
You liked the suspension?
@@vroombk yes, but what you said (like a sail boat), that is right on money. Also , I have upgraded from a 14 year old, 80000km ridden Pulsar , so the bar was never that high.
Also, right now (default) it's set at 2( 1 being the softest and 5 the hardest) , so may be uske saath thoda khel ke woh sailboat thodi stable lage 😁
Great to hear!
Why not mentioned about parallel twin engine in video?
Solid review! Test rode the bike and liked how easy it was to deal with, but it didn't feel special - felt like an appliance much like the Suzuki Vstrom 250. Very linear in power delivery, very flickable on Bengaluru roads, but nothing particularly spectacular - except that ludicrous price-tag. Seen a few on the roads, so there are some Honda nuts out there who can make peace with the price, but definitely not for the more pragmatic folk.
Yup! Its not exceptional but it can do the grind non-stop
You missed the point. This bike is not meant to be special. It is a workhorse. You buy a Ducati to feel special. You buy this bike to munch miles peacefully.
Too expensive
We agree
Upcoming KTM Adventure 390 will kill it out of the market.
What are you talking about?! This is the entry level and reasonably priced motorcycles in the market! Talking from the average joe perspective, applicable in Europe
@@ayushbajaj17 Definitely, they are really cooking something special.
@@distitron In India, entry level price point for an adventure tourer with about 40BHP is available at half of NX500 price so its relatively expensive. Moreover I've always felt, Honda has never been able to provide competitive pricing in India and that reflects in their numbers as well.
This bike tick lots of boxes for me, but the price is a bit too high. I saw it on the showrrom and checked it, the quality is good, the most disturbing one is the PRICE! I already got KTM adv and xpulse, I need a bike to replace KTM, this is the only viable option atm, hope they bring the price down, as I really want 2 Cylinder bike for touring now.
We think you should wait for the new 390
Twin cylinder, CBU( this alone spikes the cost by around 75k), immpecable quality, bullet proof engine , can go on for years, comfort, susoension, clutch - all superb.
one final question - hoq much price tag woudl u put in peace of mind while riding a Honda, ask the RE guys whose workshop repair guy is their new best friend. Not to mention tubleless rims whixh are absent in himalayan 450( this alone would jack up its ex shiwroom price by 30k). So if u consider the total picture one can justify the price of NX 500.
Not really when you consider the on-road price. That is hella expensive.
You take the CBU part out of the equation, then the price becomes reasonable. So the product per se is totally worth it, and the CBI part can be covered by Honda's reliability, reasonable service cost and time saved by avoiding frequent trips to the service centre. So if one is planning to keep one do it all bike for 7-8 years , then this product becomes totally worth it.
The rest u are comparing with like Him 450, or KTM 390, is just because of comparable power ratios, but I am sure u know bike is much much more than just that. and there are some things one can't put a price tag on, so one assumes it is free, but nothing is.
It’s a CBU so the price point makes sense and it’s a parallel twin can’t be compared to a single. The parts availability is never a problem with BigWing since I have personally experienced it for over 5 years now. If one can afford to push the budget this is the only bike you’d need. After testing it for a bit it’s a no brainer, one can use it for everything commute, weekend getaways and cross country tours
The twin bit is understandable but the CBU route is a major reason why the NX gets priced this high
Kinda glad it's priced a little over the RE, KTM crowd.. it's a refined, good looking, quality bike that I'd buy as my disposable income rises.
Sadly, it's not priced only LITTLE over RE & KTM😐
The price difference is not little but its a motorcycle that will keep most happy
You realise what Honda is only when you get a Honda...Got the CB350RS last September and had doubts whether I should have bought the RE classic, but then I rode one of my friends classic and realised it's kind of an old persons bike... everything takes time on it , it's vibrates more than Honda, and is fun only in the lower end...while Honda opens up after 5000 Rpms and the needle on speedo just rushes all the way to 125kmph , Honda's got discipline and manners of a gentleman with guns under his suit ...ready to sling at any given moment but with style and grace....which the RE just doesn't!!
Good summary there
Very well said .. i also own CB350 & did some gr8 ride on it. without any fatigue even non stop Goa
@@saurabhmuley4703 it's an awesome, awesome bike!! Just need to do something about the headlight range...too meek to ride carefree at night...but I am also not a regular tourer to invest into expensive lights.... finding a good solution around 4k or something nearer...do tell me if you have found something.
M ready to pay that much price just for the peace of mind that honda brings with its products..... You don't have to visit workshop except for servicing of the bike ... people are complaining about the price but they forget the reliability honda has is worth every penny
We agree but that’s still a hefty price to pay upfront
Varun forgot to mention that NX is a parallel twin, offers more power and less vibration.
It still vibrates. Not the smoothest twin out there
Recent PD videos don't hit the way they used to hit. Something is missing, but hope the mojo will be back.
What’s missing champ?
Honda motorcycle takes pride on its reliability for long term ownership..yes KTM and HIMALAYAN is cheaper to own, but for long term ownership youll REALIZED that the cost for maintenance + procurement cost will suffice the initial ownerahip of tHe HONDA..
Thats upward of 3 lakhs difference mate. How much you estimate the maintenance cost difference will be to cover it.
We absolutely agree with you. But the initial bit of giving almost Rs. 6 lakh might be painful for some.
@@powerdriftofficial yes i AGREE, however honda has a very low depreciation rate, thus when the time comes to upgrade to a much higher CC bikes or you just wanna sell your bikes, honda enjoys a high resale value over other japanese and obviously european bikes...
What's the suspension travel front and back ?
CB500X got a really good fuel consumption for a sub 500cc bike what makes me want one. I think it's same goes to NX500. Plus the bullet proof engine.
For sure.
We complain a lot about Honda... Let me shell out a few questions... RE is purely Indian, Duke is almost Indian as it owns by Bajaj... Be honest & say can RE liquid or duke ever be a match with Honda's Engine, Build quality & reliability??? To me, A big NO... We have to blame our Govt for getting a CBU unit is so costly due to the taxations here in India.. A Camry costs 26 lakhs INR in USA but costs more than 50 lakhs in India...
Not only Honda, Many foreign manufacturers sell less bigger capacity bikes because of the duties & taxes... So obviously they have take it or leave it attitude, Avacados are expensive only but for that pls dont tell Tomato is selling less price so Avacado is very pricey....
2019 I bought CKD CB300R for 2.4L, later that bike is manufactured in India & even after 5 years, Indian made CB300R is sold for 2.4L... but still people flocking for duke only... Duke is Cheaper & quality is also inferior only... Honda is pricey but Handling is top notch in fact better than dukes
Lastly, dont make comedy when Big players come into India with their New Products... Like Honda is busy in making Activa 8g, 9g & 10g...
IF YOU SQUINT HARD ENOUGH IT LOOKS LIKE MY VSTROM
Our eyes hurt
I hope Aprilia come with a adventure tourer with rs 457 engine and priced similar.. people in mid 30s and above majority prefer adventure bikes over sport version..
Tuareg 457. We like the sound of that
PowerDrift is back!! This one had that energy which I feel was missing. (Maybe I not that moody these days lol). Great video
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the comment!
Actually Nx500 is price high but quality of the bike other than is very good , weight management is very good , quality makes price high , waiting for good bike in 500-700 cc in 5- 8 lakhs on road
Hi Sir, is that Tamhini ghat pass(mulshi lake) or the Lavasa twisties...!?
My favourite thing about the nx500 is that I am not going to purchase it.
Ohhhh 🥲
A bike to avoid unless you're in other parts of South-East Asia. This is good for Indian roads but not made keeping Indians in mind. Honda thinks India only wants Activa and Shine. My next bike is definitely a KTM, Triumph or Aprilia. They're doing much more for India.
This bike is making waves in the UK and North America. I think the Japanese are just good at making easy to ride good bikes, other products as well, for the international market. Here in Canada it's %30 more, $9416 than Himalayan $7,199 . Specs are slightly better as well IMO. Of course if in India for half the money you can get a Himalayan and have great bike well suited for the country. No brainer.
The footpeg to seat distance appears to be more in the NX than the Himalyan450, is it? How much would be the difference?
We did not have a tape to measure it but the NX and the Himmy both feel comfortable
Honda is my favourite motorcycle company ❤
The edit and production on this video is awesome
Thank you :D
Adventure motorcycles hold a unique appeal for any enthusiast's garage. While the Honda NX500 offers some of that allure, its price doesn't quite align with its value proposition. Moreover, it seems to lack the excitement characteristic of true adventure bikes. Consequently, it's a contender for my bucket list, but it won't find a place in my garage.
Good summary there. I completely agree with you
Well said!
Realistically speaking, do you see the NX500 being manufactured locally here? What are the chances of that happening?? If it can happen we could hold out a little longer to get the sweet sweet nx500..
Also the Tuareg 457? I'm guessing that will be a good bike. Any approximate time line for that?
We feel that’s a no go!
@@powerdriftofficial awwww... That's really sad to hear Honda not prioritising the price conscious market of India.
Any idea about the Tuareg launch timelines though? The engine seems very versatile and a Tuareg 457 would be an instant hit..
I don’t get the indian audience . Like i really don’t . People always complain that honda and yamaha and suzyki doesnt bring their bikes in india .
And when they do we people who claims to be bike enthusiasts start hating then and start comparing these beauty gem of en engine to single cylinder engines which are made in india ie RE hand duke adv . And everybody like everybody starts complaining that its expensive and that nobody would buy it .
Wellllllll what price did you expect a cbu unit twin cylinder from such brands ?? In 2-3 lakh range ? Come in guys even i cannot afford this bike and can never buy this but i respect this brand and this engine and proud of the fact that someday i’ll see such engines on the road . But i am never going to compare and complain .
Ye to vahi vli baat ho gyi ki pakistan me log dominar 400 ko gaaliyaan de rhe ki bohot mehengi h flop buke h etc blah blah but in india its the cheapest 40bhp bike .
STOP EXPECTING BIG MANUFACTURERS TO SELL THEIR BIKES AT THE PRICE OF BAJAJ RE TVS UNTIL ITS MADE IN INDIA AND PERFORMS POORLY.
I agree with you, the extra amount is for quality & reliability. It's justifiable for a motorcycle which is derived from a much proven CB500X.
RE makes a twin at 3 lac! The problem is the route through which the NX gets here. Its a genuine issue because that limits accessibility to a lot of prospective buyers.
@@powerdriftofficial
In what universe can an NX500 be compared to an RE and be priced around 3 lakhs? Even a KTM Duke 390 ADV costs around 4 lakhs.
I am disappointed at the abysmal level of discourse.
@@_msiyer I own an Interceptor 650, 2022 Model. I bought the NX500 Red this month. I have both the bikes in the Garage. The Int 650 has never Shown me a proper or even closest approximation of fuel consumption. The speedometer stopped working after 2 weeks of taking the delivery. The service team gave me a hard time to get it replaced under warranty and even RE didnt respond properly. I still enjoy riding the Interceptor 650, but the NX is a whole lot different. The pricing is because of the CBU. People should understand that to put a new assembly line of a new model in an existing factory is not a piece of cake. The amount of training required to train everyone from manufacturing parts, machiners, assemblers, training technicians would cost more. But it makes more sense to import a CBU compared to the headache of opening a new assembly line. The cost of NX500 in Thailand is around 5.12 Lacs ex-showroom and 7.10 Lac in UK. I had booked the HImalayan 450, cancelled it and went of NX500, yes it is costly, but worth it for those who can afford it.
@@AverageHumanVlogs I am bringing home a black NX500 as soon as it arrives on our shores. I have booked one, and the wait is killing me.
7 lakhs is a huge amount. However, I am buying the NX500 for the long term.
I agree with everything you said. I too am asking the same question. A KTM Duke 390 ADV costs around 4 lakhs. The recently launched Aprilia bike will set you back by almost 5 lakhs. How on earth can NX500 be priced around 3 lakhs or 4 lakhs or 5 lakhs?
I own a 2018 CBR250R. I have had it for 5.5 years now. It still runs like a new bike. I just love the bike.
I previously owned a KTM Duke 390. It spent many months in the service center because they could not figure out what was wrong with the bike. I have also owned a few other Bajaj models, such as Avenger, Pulsar NS200, and Discover. The overall experience was not much better, if not as bad as the Duke 390.
The cinematography is on point. And the NX looks amazing in black! Any chances of it getting discounted later as we have seen with other Honda products?
Thank you Saikat. The discontinued bit is something we cannot answer at this point in time
Just started the video, "but" I already know what the "but" is going to be!
Himalayan 450 and upcoming Xpulse 440/400 will be good enough for the majority of Indians.

Honda needs to give the option of their new E-clutch on the NX to deal with the utterly chaotic Indian traffic.
It's price is all due to taxes, it will sell in south east asia and in our neighbouring countries but not in india, if it was built here it wouldve given the himalayan a run for its money

No we did not. But there are twin-cylinder motorcycles that cost cheaper when made in India. RE and Aprilia are good examples

Any news if honda would roll out 300X Adv version
We aren’t sure of it
I also came to know that you can't switch off the abs in this bike, only TC can be switched off ..... If you are thinking of buying this bike I would suggest adding some more money and buying Versus 650...much better power and comfort than this bike...and the road presence is also great in that bike...just my opinion
For sure. The Versys is more VFM
Booked in white❤😊
White looks damn good too
@@powerdriftofficialit is❤
I miss the days when the reviews were more about the bike rather than philosophical quotes. 😢
Errrr. VP did not quote at all :P
Actually it is ok for the ex showroom price compared to how Hobda have priced their earlier bikes here that too given it is a CBU i guess... But for the end customer, that doesnt matter.. So on road of 10 lakhs is frankly hell lot of money for a 250twin with just 40hp...Only concern when countries like Indonesia get all bells and whistles, Honda always takes India for granted, given we are tye biggest 2 wheeler market... May be they fear to compete with Indian players for price factor of it...
Lots of factors with the NX but this should have been the on-road price
