I had never heard that there was a PC version of the first MGS and by the end of this run I understand why lol
Nero Mystyra meanwhile I only ever played the PC version and am learning how broken it is
I finished pc version, and no bugs appeared for me
The worst things about the PC version are the imprecise movement controls and the low quality sound effects and music.
@@Katana2097 the movement controls are not an issue at all, they just make it seem like it is one. 8 Directions is more than enough.

@@kkonti1113 game time is what the game itself records, real time is how long it actually takes
Game time might stop counting during cutscenes or load times
@@kkonti1113 Depends on the game. All sorts of things slow down/pause game time while of course real time is consistent. Well, ignoring relativity anyways (moving and being in a gravitational field both slow time, making real time technically not consistent, but it's not significant under normal conditions).
All this time spent playing MGS1 and I didn't even know about the bookshelf boss!
it's an essential part to the plot. everything about MGS makes sense now.

You don't actually "bump" into gaurds on mgs1. You can just go through. He does wake up, just not instantly. A gaurd that's awake will instantly go into alert when a pixel of your body touches them.
One of the best speed runs i've seen. Great narration and explanation by plywood :-)

Great run but I couldn't help but wish they would have talked about the differences between the PC and the PS1 version and in what ways the PC version is broken.

I really wish they would remaster the twin snakes. Would be nice to play it on current Gen consoles or pc.

On console ps1 it took me just over 8 hours from start to finish….got it nailed to 3hrs 18mins my fastest time. Was well proud of that ! Amazing game !
The nice thing about speedrunning a Metal Gear game is there's only about 35 minutes of actual gameplay in each game anyways :D

Honestly one of my favourite runs of gdq: plywood is funny and insightful, the game has enough glitches to be interesting but not so many so that it’s hard to keep track of. And also it’s metal gear so ...

They will edit video and audio problems (usually), but decide not to cut out the lead up. I'm not sure why since nobody watches it.

i just started watching this and im as shocked as you are, inmeadiately jumped to google and cant fin anything. must be a feature from the PC port. im sure in the original ps1 version you have to hold triangle for the first person mode and the directionals simply tilt/turn your view, if you realease triangle then its back to 3rd person
@@josesanroman1988 on the ps1, you can use the first person mode only on the version 1.1 (integral - 3 discs) of this game. Completing the main game once on any difficulty will unlock "1P View Mode" on the Special sub-menu.

I did the captured glitch on twin snakes on gamecube I was watching the cutscenes fight all the guards when we met meryl for the first time and then I went to the door to the left no I didn't take the elevator then when the screen popped out I was at the torture scene I didn't intend to do that but it saved me time
