I had Evan Pappas as a professor for a short period of time. That man is extremely talented, and even more down to Earth. He was someone everyone (myself included) enjoying working with.
Seriously though, thank you for uploading this. I used to preform/sing every character of this show as a teenager in the 90s in my bedroom because of my undying love of Tim Curry. I’m thinking I should’ve tried perusing voice acting....
@@craicolackin Not really. He had basically abandoned her when he and her mom divorced, and they (father and daughter) have just reconciled. Would have been weird for it not to be highly emotional.
I wasn't paying much attention to musicals whe this show debuted but I'm sorry I missed it. I really liked the movie it was based on and Evan Pappas looks and sounds like the character Benjy Stone was meant to be. I was sorry to read it wasn't a success. It looks like it had the makings of a great show - that somehow missed.
I mean it’s the scene stealing role in the show so if you don’t want to give the show props but you want to throw a bone I get it. That role always gets notice (as it should)
Evan Pappas was all wrong for this role. He's supposed to basically be the young Mel Brooks, but he doesn't sound anything like a "smart-ass kid from the deli" - he sounds like a dopey, innocent, wide-eyed gentile boy, everything Brooks was not.
As much as I love his work, I do agree. For a character like Alan Swann (an aging & hedonistic Hollywood has been) Tim Curry doesn’t fit the role. I’d prefer Richard Harris instead (or even Robert Goulet) if it were my call.

One of my absolute favorite recordings-so great to see this!!!
I can't thank you enough for this, I've been absolutely dying for more and better quality footage of this. Thank you!
Glad you liked it---thanks.

My favorite year

Good god! Tim is just utter exquisite'ness! That's not even a word, but sweet fuck, how he makes my ovaries tremble 💙
Tim Curry's in this!! Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaah!!
I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That young woman who is hugging Alan Swann (Tim Curry) is his daughter, Tess, who was played by future TONY-Winner Katie Finneran.
Jason C. Parker uhm, damn. It’s kinda kinky then. 😯

Katie Finneran is also the dancing cigarette package in the "20 Million People" opening number.
They left out "If the World Were Like the Movies." Pity
tim :')

Omg. Anyone else notice that chick totally macking on Tim hardcore at 17:50?
Lucky 🙄🙄🙄🙄
This show had flaws but so much heart and outstanding performances [but the Andrea Martin Tony is a great mystery].

It looks fantastic, but this is a role Peter O'Toole created and I love Tim Curry, but he is no Peter O'Toole.
20 million people is so much better at 1.25X speed

Tim Curry was sooo miscast.
