Their rating system is weird. A critical score of 87% doesn’t mean the critics gave it an 8.7/10 on average, it just means 87% of the critics gave it a 6 or better.
IIRC the critics gave it a 6.5 on average. Still too generous but not nearly as good as the press makes it out to be.

My awakening to see just how terrible Disney starwars was when TLJ came out. I gave the force awakens the benefit of the doubt and was excited and looking forward to TLJ and holy shit.. I was extremely disappointed. I remember sitting in the theater wondering "Wtf is going on? Luke is some angry old guy now and dies because he gets tired or something?" Since then, I was skeptical of anything Disney, so it's quite clear to see the agenda of destroying legacy characters to try and push their DEI agenda.
Who would've thought watching your favourite franchise burn and destroy itself be so entertaining.

The problem is that with Filoni on their side, a lot of people that were against Disney Star Wars ralley to Disney's side because of Filoni feeding on their nostalgia. What they don't realize is that Filoni is very manipulative, and thus people that argue against Filoni get seen as the bad guys. I loved Filoni's older work but in the end, he had fallen to the dark side.
