What's crazy to me is that they have such big teams AND they take so long to develop. I'm not the biggest Rockstar fan in the world, but there is nobody doing what they're doing in the industry today. I'm super curious to just see GTA 6 and the scope of its world.

For people familiar with LA, a lot of the locations in GTA5 are downright uncanny. Of course the major buildings are represented, but I even recognized many of the intersections you show in the video.

You reminded me of San Francisco in Watch Dogs 2. I heard that's SUPER accurate to the real city.

The map feels uncanny regardless like how you feel so small walking when the city is like 80% road and the hoods cut into the business district so abruptly or that the map is literally composed mostly of empty warehouse but I suppose it is things they make fun of La for.

How nice of Pretzel to bring attention to such a small indie game as Grand Theft Auto V.
Snark aside, my "weird hidden detail" experience I had with this game back in the ps3 version was walking in a Shopping street near one of the hospitals/train/bus terminal (the one where you control Chop in a mission). Each shop has those advertisings on the awnings with phone numbers you can actually call (in-game) and get different responses to. One of them has a nice elevator music that got me entertained for a few minutes.

1:28 This is something I would do occasionally in IV and V. I love to take in the city vibe because I do that IRL too. IV is arguably more interactive for pedestrians because some buildings are enterable immune V, but V has a much brighter tone (considering the theme of the game isn't as depressing as IV).

"The addition of the bank's interior after the Heists Update marks one of the only occasions in which a newly added location in GTA Online has become available in GTA V as well. This allows the bank to be one of the few new GTA Online locations to be readily accessible in Director Mode."

Salt and Sauce is a reference to Edinburgh, where Rockstar is based. Unlike the rest of the UK, where “salt and vinegar” is the default for your fish and chips, in Edinburgh you’ll be asked if you want “salt and sauce”. The sauce is like a mix of HP brown sauce and vinegar. Obviously in the UK we have salt and vinegar as crisp flavours, but not salt and sauce, so the inclusion in the vending machine is obviously a little nod to the local delicacy.

You avoided Franklin's house and all the urban low income areas.

    • @PretzelYT
      @PretzelYT  11 місяців тому +1

I had thought about including that section of the map, but decided to really focus on the urban vs rural areas. Both the bottom and upper half of the city kinda fit that "urban streets" vibe compared to the desolate and spread out Blaine county.
Now that you bring it up though, I feel bad leaving Franklin and his side of the map out of it😭 It does have a vibe that the area around Michael's house and Trevor's house don't. If I make another video on the game, I'll give him justice.

In Michael's bathroom, there is a toothpaste with the brand "CJ's Toothpaste" likely just an easter egg to GTA SA, but the lore implications of this indicates that CJ started a Toothpaste brand

I'm surprised you didn't mention the weird architecture of Michael's house. There are windows on the front of the house, just right of the front door, but inside, there aren't? There should be windows where the books are in the living room. There's actually almsot enough room for another whole room between the windows and the booksshelf, but there's no door?

Pretty crazy that we're less than a week away from seeing GTA 6 after 10 long years.
Can't wait to see how much detail they packed into it compared to GTA 5, hopefully another huge leap for open world titles.

This one was pretty disappointing when I came back to replay it a couple of months ago. The bank was one of the few places I discovered that I hadn’t before. The lack of things that you can interact with in this game is the main problem. Not just the same cut and paste mini games spread everywhere through the map but I miss the interiors, street vendors, buskers

The reason that Sandy Shores is so dilapidated is that it resembles the Salton Sea area of SoCal. Check out some of the stories about the rise and fall of the Salton Sea as a resort area.

The thing I can't get over is that while this game came out in 2013, it was designed to be able to run on systems which came out in the mid 2000's. The fact that it's as good as it is despite that speaks to how talented Rockstar is.

    Other interesting and weird places:
the completely empty tunnel that cuts through Mount Chilliad, connecting roads on which, as far as I know, no NPC ever drives on
the hills around Mount Gordo (the one with the ghost), there are a bunch of hiking trails here, I think some NPCs sometimes walk there, other than that, nothing of interest
    the abandoned mine shaft
the sewage tunnels under the city
the huge sea cave on the west side of the map, a small cave in one of the mountains
various empty islands in the ocean
the bottom of the ocean (ship wrecks, plane wrecks, a UFO, remains of constructions, but also underwater life, etc.)
    the Altruist camp
    the Lost MC clubhouse
    the accessible Tequilla-La bar
    the Playboy mansion
Franklin's mansion changing over the game, full of boxes after he moves in, later with stuff unpacked, pictures hanged, etc.
along with the Internet, there's also the radio, TV and movie theatres, all full of different content
so many details, such as names of businesses and other funny signs
There's way more, the game has an insane amount of details.
