French here, i am also horrfied to see what happened and very sad for this, i am a Roman Catholic and felt offensed by this depiction at the olympic overture. This is very heart breaking to see how deep in aposthasy France nowaday is, when it used to be the Eldest Daughter of the Church. I am also sad to see people litteraly hating my country because of it when it is only a leftist minority who made this "show". Australian Catholics are praying for our French brethren. It breaks my heart to see the homeland of my patron saints, St Therese of Lisieux and St Irenaeus, be host to such blasphemies. I think it’s hypocritical to religious leaders decrying the opening ceremony but then talking about watching the Olympics. Boycotting watching the Olympics does affect their pocketbooks by cutting ratings and tickets sales. I care about the athletes but not watching will not stop their ability to compete.

I quit watching Rick and Morty because they mocked God over a year ago. I saw the mockery right after coming home from Mass and receiving Holy Communion. I spent the next day churning out letters of protest, one of which has since been published in the paper. Then the other night, I was assaulted by a bizarre, evil, unearthly and sickening nightmare that didn't feel like a normal dream. I've seen a lot of horror in my working life but this dream was worse than all of it put together. I can't shake the feeling it was a demonic attack for speaking out and I'm not the kind of person to normally revert to such assumptions. If it was, good, it means the enemy is desperate. We all also need to pray for the poor kids who were put up there with the drag show and for their physical and spiritual welfare.

Instead, the result might be some other event that you won't see as connected to the mocking (think of societies that decay and die once they lose sight of God). As disgusted and appalled as I am at this foul display, I have found that it has actually strengthened my devotion to the Faith. I was beginning to slack off in my prayer life, but after viewing this spectacle, I have found a renewed desire to pray more often and more deeply. The "it's a reference to Feast of the Gods painting" fails on 1 major fundamental point...that painting itself was a blasphemy when it was painted. It also gave rise to the nonsense that the Catholic Church was rebranded Greco-Roman religion. It was blasphemous because you'll note that at the table in the middle is Jesus and John the evangelist. So yes, even if you based it 100% on that painting, it is still blasphemy of Christ. I will disagree. I think people can represent pagan mythology without necessarily endorsing it as a theology and understanding it’s great story telling structure. It's an homage to a painting reflecting a celebration in Greek mythology. It's literally titled "The Feast of the Gods". What's wrong with reflecting art? Why would it be worse if it was supposed to be "The Last Supper"?

Today, we covered the opening ceremony in one of my university lectures. The lecturer opened with, "Who feels strongly about the opening ceremony?" I'm happy to say, that as a result of these kinds of videos that have been released all over since the ceremony, I could have the confidence in standing up for my faith and religion, and to have a conversation generate from it. One of the objections that were brought up was, "Christians are meant to practice tolerance." I could not help but think of Rev. Calvin's point, "tolerance and niceness are no virtues." I hope my story, as with this video, inspires us Christians to take courage and make a stand. To love the Lord our God, and to love our neighbor. Thank you, Matt, as always, for your content.

I've been brought up as a Christian, but I've never been a religious person, more spiritual than anything else. I do believe that people should be able to express themselves freely. However, one minority acting like they represent 90% of humanity and mocking others' freedom is a no-go. On a hopeful note, France had a record high of adult baptisms this year. The number increases every year. It’s a phenomena that even the bishops aren’t sure how to explain. They say it isn’t through their efforts of evangelization. The expression they used is “we opened the door and they’re coming through the windows”. Mostly young adults who were taught to pray as children by their grandmothers, not their parents. ❤

@@javierclement3047 The actual number isn’t that high, around 12 000. It’s just comparatively to past adult baptisms, the increase is really significant. It’s a positive trend and that is to be celebrated, I think. And these people are of the age to have children. So one can project with cautious optimism. :)

Holy hours are a treat for me . It’s almost unreachable. If I didn’t have a decent car and gasoline like the 1970’s, I wouldn’t be able to drive 55 miles to adoration or 60 miles to mass. Don’t forget another 55 miles home and 60 miles to mass.

I think it’s hypocritical to religious leaders decrying the opening ceremony but then talking about watching the Olympics. I saw the mockery right after coming home from Mass and receiving Holy Communion. I spent the next day churning out letters of protest, one of which has since been published in the paper. Then the other night, I was assaulted by a bizarre, evil, unearthly and sickening nightmare that didn't feel like a normal dream. I've seen a lot of horror in my working life but this dream was worse than all of it put together. I can't shake the feeling it was a demonic attack for speaking out and I'm not the kind of person to normally revert to such assumptions. If it was, good, it means the enemy is desperate. We all also need to pray for the poor kids who were put up there with the drag show and for their physical and spiritual welfare.

Instead, the result might be some other event that you won't see as connected to the mocking (think of societies that decay and die once they lose sight of God).

Get Rosary. I am not an Atheist maybe or maybe I am, but my brain cannot manage to believe anything or anyone blindly. Yet I can trust. Rosary did help me first of all at least not to make silly rush decisions I would regret later. It is a nice form of meditation and may help you work on being a better person as well.. Try it. I will disagree. I think people can represent pagan mythology without necessarily endorsing it as a theology and understanding it’s great story telling structure. For instance, i love the Iliad/Troy and Hercules, but obviously don’t believe in the literal mythology.

Today, we covered the opening ceremony in one of my university lectures. The lecturer opened with, "Who feels strongly about the opening ceremony?"
I'm happy to say, that as a result of these kinds of videos that have been released all over since the ceremony, I could have the confidence in standing up for my faith and religion, and to have a conversation generate from it.
One of the objections that were brought up was, "Christians are meant to practice tolerance."
I could not help but think of Rev. Calvin's point, "tolerance and niceness are no virtues."
I hope my story, as with this video, inspires us Christians to take courage and make a stand. To love the Lord our God, and to love our neighbor.

I feel like anyone who hasn't been "bitten" by the woke/ politically correct bug was more or less appalled at what happened. I've been brought up as a Christian, but I've never been a religious person, more spiritual than anything else. I do believe that people should be able to express themselves freely. However, one minority acting like they represent 90% of humanity and mocking others' freedom is a no-go. The fact that there was a kid dancing amongst the depravity happening on that bridge is truly horrific.

On a hopeful note, France had a record high of adult baptisms this year. The number increases every year. It’s a phenomena that even the bishops aren’t sure how to explain. They say it isn’t through their efforts of evangelization. The expression they used is “we opened the door and they’re coming through the windows”. Mostly young adults who were taught to pray as children by their grandmothers, not their parents. ❤

@@javierclement3047 The actual number isn’t that high, around 12 000. It’s just comparatively to past adult baptisms, the increase is really significant. It’s a positive trend and that is to be celebrated, I think. And these people are of the age to have children. So one can project with cautious optimism. :)

As a Protestant I had concerns about this terminology, since it seems to imply Mary is causally prior to God or that she is the mother of the entire trinity, or even that she must be eternal in order to have produced an eternal being. I’ve come around by reducing the term to its bare essentials, though the implications are still huge.
Mary is God’s mother. Yes, she was chosen by the Father for this purpose, and yes, the Father could have theoretically chosen anyone else, but He didn’t. He chose Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, who is God. Therefore, mother of God.
